Yes, I brought that over from pickup tactics I learned. They refer to it as a disqualify or neg - "I don't know if we can be friends" I actually stumbled across the pickup tactics when reading the book "How to Sell to Big Companies" which talks about how to sell to execs - good book by the way. When reading the book I realized that executives are similar to women that are pursued a lot and a lot of the tactics carried over and that led me to reading a bunch of books on dating (pickup). I find the parallels fascinating and have applied sales tactics to relationships and dating tactics to sales.
