Fragrance became very popular in 2020 and 2021. But you can hit a wall very quickly with designer fragrances. There are so many, and not all will appeal to you. This is usually when people discover the niche world. It can be very daunting and overwhelming when you realize just how many niche brands there are out there! You are the first perfume channel I watched that really drew me into perfumes and got me so delighted to know that they could be so complex, it was your amazing video on Initio Parvs line, and I was borderline mesmerized when I learned that a house (lol look at me using insider vocab! “House” 😅) could have such a backstory and intentionality across a single house and even more so in their individual collections. This is a “hobby” that costs money but I feel it brings me a sense of happiness positivity and self-expression that is truly very unique. I also love the language used to describe scents almost as much as the scent itself (exaggerating here a bit). I’m so captivated by fragrances now! I love essential oils but it’s so hard to wear them, and then they can get very expensive

This is a great video Greta Beth. I do enjoy more mass appealing likeable fragrances, even when it comes to niche. I am testing more complex fragrances but I’m realizing I love the smell from the bottle and to my nose but don’t want to smell like many. I love PDM, Roja and HOS. Super interested in the Aaron Raw Cherry 🍒 you spoke about.
I’m glad you found it helpful. You inspired me when you said you were trying to get into niche. It’s true, niche can run very artistic and not for everyone. I wanted to point out the more mass appealing houses that are great when looking for something different, but also easy. 🤗💗

My first thought when I started watching was Casamorati by Xerjoff. Also the 30 ml bottles are cute and more affordable to get variety in a collection. I want a velvet bottle!!! Curious about Dapper, I almost ordered a Dua (the dupe of Sweetie Aoud), but changed my mind after reading something. Going to look into Aaron Terence Hughes, I used to always go big for the better value, but sometimes I tire of the fragrance before I finish it. I love that it's priced per ML. Never heard of this line. My 60 year old nose likes beast mode, yet smooth like my bourbon!! Those Navitus discovery sets 🤩. I'm dragging out my old Rirana samples, I have Iris Ambrette and Wood Cereal. My suggestion for the more affordable niche would be Ormonde Jayne.

@@GretaBeth yes! We don’t have them in Toronto Sephoras- only saks and Nordstrom, but I fell into niche when we were in lockdown. It was all new and mainly blind buys for me 😂❤️
It was easy to do! I was into niche leading up (thanks to Demi), but fell obsessed at lockdown 😜

@Greta Beth Oh no, really? I don't like all of their, but I do love Cherry Smash, Gables, Bohemian water, Fireside marshmallow, and Crystal. I like to layer most of them with the originals. Alexandra is another dupe house that I like as well. But I must confess after some of your Xerjoff reviews, I now have a large collection of that house 😬
Alexandria does a consistently good job. Dapper is honestly the best! They always smell really good, even if some are a little different. Most are bang on! Xerjoff is amazing 🥰🥰🥰

The Raw Cherry from Aaron Terence Hughes came yesterday. To me it smells very similar to Producer Michael from FDB. I do get a hint of cherry. They sent a whole bag of samples which I haven't had a chance to try any. My mother's birthday is this month and Mother's Day next month. I'm leaning toward adding a couple more Roja Dove's to her collection.
Really?! I don’t see that similarity. PM is so thick in the air. Raw Cherry is a black musk, with this underlying fresh cherry fruit in there. I guess the black musk can be like that dark vein in PM.

The biggest issue I find w niche is that I can’t blind buy bcoz of the cost.. & I can’t smell them - so any videos on them I love watching . I find that even a slight comparison to the designer fumes is helpful- even tho they’re not the same . Greta, what do you think of Memo Paris & Initio - have no clue where to start.? The Memo frag. Nio is excellent!! It’s a great Freshie. Naxos for warm tobacco honey. Zerfiro is incredible! It’s a carnival for my nose 🙃 (sticky sweet elemi resin, amber, citruses, aromatics, incense, …) it has so many exciting facets!
