You don’t have to apologize for a longer video Mike, the more content the merrier!!
One tree in 6 hours of moving and you hit it , big country , big skies
Always an adventure when you ride along with the Mitchell clan!😮
That spot where you met the Case... that's barely a road.. it looks like there isn't even a ditch.. it's just part of a field.. lol
Mike, a drone footage of this move, seeing the aerial view of this convoy, would be awesome
Haha full jam and nothing less for that hill 😅. Tough on equipment for sure
Loving the Content Mike ! Keep safe !
Longer Videos are always welcomed !
Wow that's one sucker of a big hill Mike be careful !!!
Thank you for the video and all y'all's long hard laborious work
You may have to bring along a donkey tractor to help pull up the hills.
Your pilot vehicle should have a sign on the front that says convoy follows lol
When everyone wants a hill pull between the tractors and Mike be like, "hold my coffee".
Great job with the videos love watching u guys farm 👌👌
Why do you apologise for video being to long at the end, we wish they were much longer 😂😂
I think we can all agree on this one, I laugh at the end of every video when he apologizes and it’s like dang that means the video is almost over we want more😅
You guys are crazy!! But that was fun. Thanks for taking me along.
might be flat country but when you guys get a hill you really get a HILL
You should come to the Netherlands 😅
You should try working in NZ. They work on mountains
So the 1167 is pretty much identical to the John Deere 9620rx in pulling power but when you go into manual mode on the fendt that's probably when the 1167 will start to out pull the John Deere 9620rx.
only thing the fendt will fo to a deere is chase it thru the field
I wonder what the price difference is
@@vcxmp2k124 don't know about that as the fendt has a CVT and the John Deere has the slowest transmission in history.
@@elizabethliska5377 well the fendt starts from around 650,000 USD for the 1167 and the John Deere 9640rx starts from around 800,000 USD, not sure what the 9620rx cost was when new.
Fendt seem to have way more bottom to mid range torque as well as a wide range of power imo just from visual experience I've never seen one irl sooo. Not a fan of Fendt as much as I am Case and Deere buuuttthose Fendts do look good
Stay safe guys..
Look at the old Deutz-tractor at 14:27 🚜🚜 How beautiful and sweet! 😃German tractor in Canada!😊🙃
Deutz-Allis. The reason for AGCO's existence.
@@J-1410 That's rather interesting. Thank you. Do you know whether those tractors were made down in Argentina back then?🤠
@@m-videos3643 I do not. I never really looked into the Deutz-Allis era as it is considered the "dark era" of the Allis-Chalmers-Deutz-Agco history timeline. Very little development was done, sales were poorer than anyone else and it took alot of work(from agco) to get their reputation back.
Long story short, In 1985 Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz bought Allis-Chalmers' dealer network and Gleaner combine division, told the dealers they will sell the same air cooled Deutz tractors as they had elsewhere and will sell air cooled Gleaners. That went over very poorly, and then the wall came down and KHD was thinking about just discontinuing North America operations and then the upper management team convinced them to sell to them and Allis-Gleaner Company was born. AGCO, with the old D-A headquarters in Georgia and the Gleaner combine plant.
@@J-1410 Thank you Sir, very interesting history to me 👍Looking back in the history of farm machinery, some brands just made their way in North America, others did not. Very few survived. I wonder if the Gleaner combines do play a major role in todays Ag industry in North America?! I think you just can't beat Deere and Case in North America.
@@m-videos3643 AGCO basically ignores Gleaner anymore and puts very little into R&D, even though Gleaner is the only combine they make here anymore.
Gleaner fell completely during the Deutz era and when AGCO took over they were gaining market share again, until AGCO started pushing Massey around 2008 or so. They were the combine to have in the 1970s and early 1980s. They're still popular with custom harvesters as you can legally haul two on one trailer and not need pilots or special permits or have to take the tires off.
If AGCO would push them and if they would quit loosing dealers in their already small(compared to others) dealer network, Gleaner could compete.
Impressive with the distance covered also could not take my eyes of the sky
As a 30 year soaring pilot that sky looked awesome
Hello Mike big video pt1 and pt2 👋👋🇮🇹
Safe travels to your next field Mike
Great video Mike
14:28 Random 2wd Deutz Fahr from early 90's on the side, beautiful.
Deutz-Allis. Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz bought Allis-Chalmers' dealer network and Gleaner combine division(with plant) in 1985 and to quote a dealer, they were basically told "it will be green, it will be air cooled, and you will sell them" and that went about as well as it did. 10 years of poor sales and one fallen wall later, KHD was going to discontinue Deutz-Allis until the upper management of Deutz-Allis bought Deutz-Allis(the dealer network, the Independence plant, and Gleaner) from KHD and made Allis-Gleaner Company. AGCO.
Damn, I would love to drive these machines one day
Bourgault could put much larger brake discs on their carts for handling the hills.
Not in the use scenario
Your also not supposed to travel loaded
Also, I was trying to see if he checked the front brakes as well, but it looks like it just has rear brakes? I get that you don't want the cart doing funky stuff, but they could even balance it to a rear bias brakes that are larger, with assisting from brakes.
@@OOpSjm Why? The wheels are large enough to accommodate larger discs.
@@oilhammer04 Driving up and down hills on 90 mile trips half loaded is a relevant design use case?
man I thought ROLLY POLLYS were the little cattypillarz ..... ummmm DUDE!!! 9:15 *I* THINK IT WAS A FARMER GOING DOWN THAT VERY ROAD THAT WROTE ABOUT THE ROLLYPOLLYS~!!~! LOL HAHAHAHA
Heh, need to try the hills out here. Have one you cant pull empty. Other one makes the 620 quad get to about 12% slip with 25-50% fill
That's one NOISY rattling seat you got on that Fendt..
Almost seems like you put on more road miles than field miles. Long day
Hey Mike. Would it not help turning the tyres around the other way that way it won't cause as much drag and would be easier to pull with these machines being so heavy.
I tried using that drill and cart with a versatile 620 on Farming simulator 22 and I couldnt MOVE AT ALL AROUND THE WORLD IT WAS SO BIG I HAD TO KEEP MAKING 10 POINT TURNS LOLOLOL
I was quite surprised when i saw that the brake rotor on the cart is that small compared to the size and weigh of the whole setup and it doesnt have any holes in the rotor for better cooling
They aren't really made for what he is doing.
I have one hill that I climb in transport and I can reach up to 20+% slip. I'm down to 3 or 4 mph. And it has a couple of switchbacks! I'm never worried about not making it when the road is dry. I'd never attempt it when it's raining or if the road was wet!
Did you say this was a 90 mile trip? I can't imagine driving a farm tractor that far.
These modern tractors are really really comfortable, I can sit in one for like 15hours straight😂
(Sure driving so long distances so slow will probably still get boring.)
@@georgwagner4438, I just can't imagine driving 90 miles at around 10mph. That's a long trip in a tractor.
That is crazy that he was driving a semi and can’t back up. I drove for a few years and had to back up 5 miles when I was doing asphalt
It’s harder to back up a super bee.
@@KALI1080 I am in Michigan and have pulled double dumps. So I do know it can be done because I have done it
mike, have you thought about having a gopro on your head? that way you can use both your hands when you need to.
You like getting dizzy from a stupid headcam
Dumb question mike, but does it make any difference when you pull in the grass? I would think those tracks would latch on with minimal slip?
Man, this was perfect, and yeah im drunk
What about adding water sprays for the breaks like some log trucks use on steep hills.Like the videos.Like chapels big fendt.
I’m VERY surprised as big as those carts are, that they don’t have drum brakes as standard.
Disk brakes are better trucking industry going to all disk brakes much better braking
I gave someone a MIKE-WAVE while out and about the other day, my other half started to grab the wheel sayin ''ARE YOU HAVEIN A SEEZURE!!!!!??'' lol hahahahahah ummmm :) no I said I am just waveing wutthefLOL 15:06
Mike buddy . With that big drill , how long does it take you to seed a 320 acre field ?
yea I thought MIKE would have had a chain saw or a SAWSALL with battery , and a 12volt charger for that battery.... and the LIGHT TOO for that brand battery... and a little vaccume, and a... :) DID YOU TELL THEM ABOUT THE TREE!!!!!!!???? 12:20
Is this new tractor ? Because already you guys did 250 hours on odometer.
Yes 🙂
What is that forever clickity clack ticking noise across both videos, it would drive me absolutely nuts 😳
Thanks for the vid Mikey, very informative and fun to watch. Good luck this season.
I'll make a guess and say it is the seat isolator.
I see the king of tractors pulled over for the queen of tractors........properly of coarse.........and they are better off road vehicles anyway. 🙂 Thanks for sharing Mike. !
I sure would have thought someone would have drove the route first before taking the tractors on it , sometimes planning ahead helps
They did.
Maybe have a pilot at the top of the hill and they can watch your $5000.00 tires at the bridge... Can your rig travel in creeper at the bridge if you contact!!
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing.
Camera always make the hills look less steeper then in real life
And it still looks enormous😄
Looks like the Fendt has got a lot of low end grunt
That's what I said
I think peak tq is like 1200 rpm??, Maybe 1400
Next time over that route, carts EMPTY.
In years…not too many in the future…I bet we see an autonomous tractor in the rear that operates from the operator in the front tractor
Either that or electric/hydraulic driven drive wheels on the implements
Railroads have done it for years
Fendt did that a few years ago,one driver several tractors following, there are vids .
08:00 that tire looks rather expensive. 😪😪Is there a way of fixing it?🤔
Going up that big hill Mike u might have to get out and push yourself up it
He does have manual mode as an option but the tractors computers may get a bit over exited and start spinning the tracks at like 50% slippage like on tractor breaker.
I'm sure you've answered this question before but wouldn't it be better to truck the equipment long distance? I also wondered if you talc the tracks on long road trips?
No! You have to move both the tractors and drills anyway so why would you spend the time to unhook all the cables, wires and hoses to move them. Then you would have to rehook everything when you got to the new field. You would have to have 2 trucks for each setup! That would be very expensive and the drills would have to be totally empty to move with a truck so you would have to hassle with that too. So the short answer is nooooo!!
@@kevinmeyer3884 Plus, trucking them requires permits. Another added expense. And routes would be different/longer.
Mike, if you would put new tracks on Jareds tractor he would get up that hill a bit easier !!
Alan Ellis They have new tracks on hand but unfortunately bogey wheel parts are back ordered
@6:19 ... would that be the "Telegraph Road" by Dire Straits !!
Classic!
What a tight fit through the bridge and followed by a monster hill 😂
Weight of cart and angle of hill determines what % the surge brake comes on. Don't believe is has anything to do with tractor speed, or foot brake application. They can cook the grease at any speed. Can you tell I'm not a fan?
ahh just duck tape it it will be fine hahaha
What if it had rained at that hill 😬
to take 100% of the engine u have to put it in petal mode
What's Tony fast doin up there😁😁😁
" 'tis but a scratch!"
How much fuel did you use for your move?
Would LSW tires from titan tire work on the carts?
Anything would work if you have the money, but agriculture tires in general are about impossible to get right now, regardless of brand.
Last I checked, LSW's are more too.
That drill you met looks huge from far away
How much fuel did it take to make the move?
Wow Mike, and your not going to walk back and take video of the other tractors? Man, wow! I'm losing faith in yas!LOL
Ha! 😆
CAN you show on a map the road you did ?
Wow you would be buggered if you met a vehicle on thise roads.
Mike do you guys stop and put anything on the tracks. Do they get hot on long trips.
I was wondering about that myself ??
The road dust is what lubes them. That’s why it’s ideal to avoid pavement with tracks.
How do semi operator get their license if they can’t back up
You have nerves of steel 🤔🤔🤔
You call that a road, more like a cow path.
Glen Laughlin Fairly Decent county gravel road by Saskatchewan Standards
Bet you don’t take that route again
Mike how do you figure you hit the bridge those wheels are inside the the piece of Machinery in front of it
I am pretty sure that the tires on the cart are wider than the tires on the seeder, though the frame on the seeder is wider, but it looked like it went over the top of bridge rails.
@@ke6gwf ye towards the end of the bridge he veered off to the right a bit which is probably when he started rubbing but the mighty 1167 just dragged that drill and didn't even notice.
How massive these machines are ?
Peace 🤚 from MIDEAST (IRAQ)🇮🇶 KEEPUP GUYS
Allahu akbar
Is farming so far away really worth it?
It is yes, spreads out our risk
670 engine HP minus 50 lost in the CVT leaves 620 for pulling which is what they advertise I believe.
No. The 1167 puts the same hp to the transmission as the 1162 does and use the extra 53 hp for hydraulics and PTO.
Why do you farm fields so far away? Must be worth the effort I guess.
As usual i can watch your vids endlessely!
Can anyone share a google pin, for that hill location at 3.35. The landscape looks fabulous. Greetings from Ireland!!!
No idea where it is but street view probably did not exist, so you'd see satellite view only... Unless you are just trying to see where in the world the video was taken!😀 greetings from Ontario Canada!
Good thing you didn’t have a triples
What’s the weight of drill n cart half loaded n full weight
84' drill + half loaded 71300 cart + tractor = 61,000 (drill) + 50,000 (cart) + 40,000 ( half load) + 62,000 (tractor) = 213,000 lbs
( ± 96.5 metric tons, full loaded ± 115 metric tons )
How can people say sask is flat with those hills
@@freebooter247 what kinda of reply is this wth
When I came over from England I was surprised by how many hills there were. Yes much of the land is flat but still some hills.
THEY SAYIN EL NINIO... soooo ummmm dude, get the stuff in the ground before it gets WET ALL SUMMER .... i don't kno does EL NNINNIEO make your season rougher???
Dirt roads save travelling time allegedly!!🤷♂️🤦♂️😲🥵
Not my dime and not my time but roading those carts that full seems like a bad idea
Man I know you gotta get your moneys worth out of tractor parts, but damn you guys really ought to replace the tracks on Jareds RT
That was the plan prior to seeding but then the parts we needed were back ordered
@@mikemitchell2554 damn :(
This looks like a terrible route, who scouted it?
A tractor set from factory with 600horse power is it possible to tune it to 700-800 hp. Please answer.
That engine is capable of going up to 790hp but I don't know if the transmission is capable of that and the max weight that tractor can handle is probably around 65,000lbs which isn't enough weight for that amount of power.
MAN do have a 24.2 litre engine which is capable of going up to 1110hp and 5000nm of torque which is more than the big bud 747.
This 16.2 Litre MAN 6 in-line D4276 engine has a range of 612hp - 700hp, it's the exact same engine as the FENDT IDEAL 10 uses but than it has 790hp powered by other turbo's.
Anything is possible
@@lynwessel2471 Not necessarily. The 747 Big Bud spun its rims in the tires.
It seems that this alternative route is going to kill the brakes of the tractors. I guess you will not choose it again.
23. V1 Rotate
Mike could you tell me why you move your carts full? Surely safer to have emptied them into ma wagon, less weight on the tires, wheel bearings, cart brakes and tractor.
Basically they have them partly filled so that it works out to being less trucks of seed that have to come and fill them from what I’ve heard in past videos. The more you can bring the better ideally however there is a limit since it’s so heavy.
@@farmer_jong3905 I’d sooner run another truck the damage my equipment.
@@rogerquenault7207 yeah, I also think it’s to do with what they had left on their drills most likely once they finished the last field. Every farm is different and myself as another farmer and a viewer we can never be sure on what he has for trucks available and all that jazz
Not full but are maybe I forget what he said % loaded
Why don’t they make bigger tractors
Like 900 hp
It's not only about the power. Traction are the most important a tractor need. You can ahve a 3000hp tractor if that ever existed. But with no traction, you'll be going nowhere.
They wouldn't sell enough
Government emissions are also a problem, the more horsepower you go the harder it is (usually) to meet the required targets
They did. See the Big Bud 16v-71
Why only 3 drills, I thought you normally moved 5 drills at a time?
2 crews they split up
