      That's crazy. It's unfortunate cameras don't pick it up.. doesn't matter if it's dry, wet or snow, cameras just don't do it justice

    Spun out on the only hill in Saskatchewan😂😂😂! You gota try. It's just like the 'I can make 1 more pass close to that slough' mentality. If you make it your awesome, if you don't at least you tried!

      @@SoWhatIfI... That unfortunately took out my uncle in 87.. one more pass, got stuck. Went & got the other tractor to pull it out.. chain broke & smashed his head.. his 2 oldest boys in the stuck tractor saw it all happen. Chains are bad news. (Sorry for the downer but your comment struck a chord)

    Winter wheat is usually lost in the spring. If there's no cover, a warm march will make it break dormancy, then comes a hard frost and kills it.

    mike also a La Nina should deliver some more moisture through the winter for you. so i think its a good idea, the winter crop

    Its amazing the power of those big 4 wheel drives, i went out today and was working some low spots with out 2394 with a 13 foot cultivator basically going down to the frame and it was working hard, last year we worked the same low spots with our stx450 and a 33ft cultivator same depth and the tractor didn’t even know it was there haha

    Hahahah being a farmer i can tell how steep them hills are. I got some of them at my home farm too hahahaha. Camera never show how bad some of them are!!

    Ay, Mike...
    That fall seeding makes spring so much less stressed... we froze out twice, and they were back to back years... most farms wait a month, what doesn't grrminate gets reseeded directly in, no reprepin... (Again, anything sprouted in the fall is a big plus $$)

    Drilling winter wheat this fall was so dang tough I had to stop and find more weight to bolt to the tractor. I needed the extra traction to try to pull through the super hard ground. Had some places the drill didn't even go into the ground. It sucked.

    bonjour Mike , il faut semer ton blé bien assez tot pour qu il sorte vite et s implante assez fort pour passer l hiver , nous en France on as l habitude de faire du blé d hiver mais pas avec un bourgeau lol ! si un jour tu as le temps vient en France copier nos methode d implantation du blé d hiver , si ton blé as une bonne croissance avant les grands froid , au printemps il va se reveiller et taller , pour une belle recolte, adios amigos

    How does seeding a week later in the spring help?
    Wouldn’t you want it all in as early as possible to give it the best chance to start and be covering the field by the time it gets hot and dry?

    We raise it here for cover crop .

      Winter rye can used for bread making, rye beer or for feed.

    Can't you drive sideways to the hills with a gps tracked seeder, that shows the tractor where to drive???
    20+% slip ??? Makes no sense.

    Why aren’t you seeding it into mustard stubble? I think you have some?
    There are lots of guys seeding winter wheat this fall. Durum prices are horrible, and like you said beat the heat.
    I personally wouldn’t do it!
    Summers are short enough and to be combining in July isn’t up my alley. Pulses are bad enough to wreck a guys summer plans.
    Each to their own.

    The new John Deere 9RX 830 is boosting to over a 1000hp I think. Just saying, but of course you know that, and money grows on trees and wheat values are super high..😅

      @@robhartshorn6823 Traction requires weight so you can either weight a smaller tractor beyond manufacturers recommendations or get a bigger tractor.
