It did age pretty well. I listened to it for the first time in years thinking it would sound kind of cringe-y edgy, but you can't really place it too firmly in the 2000s and it just has great sound quality
For me personally it's Plastic Beach by Gorillaz. It might be because of strong nostalgia and memories tied to the album for me but every song feels like it's just made to perfection. Besides the music itself it has such a wide array of artists giving it a not easily definable genre. Music aside the artwork for the album and Gorillaz as a whole is also gorgeous.
Amazing album! One of my favorites of all time. So many different moods and great features, while having a great message about the environment and how waste is destroying it
The Brave Little Abacus - Just Got Back From The Discomfort-We’re Alright Emo has been my favorite music genre for a while now. I think it’s fascinating how it can go from bands like Mom Jeans to The Hotelier. It communicates my struggles so well lyrically and musically. With that being said, Brave Little Abacus really made a masterpiece here. I would say most people would absolutely HATE this album because of the singer’s voice and the way the record seems like it has no direction whatsoever. For me, these flaws benefit the album. It’s a mess for sure, but the soundscapes, instrumentation, and crushing, painful lyrics make it a one of a kind experience. No other album I have ever listened to has the emotional power of JGBFTDWA, and that’s why it’s my favorite album ever. Sorry if I seem angsty here, I just really love this album.
Clown Core- Toilet Two members, two clown masks, groove metal, the most impressive sounds I’ve ever heard from a saxophone, goofy as hell but done to perfection, do I need to say more?
Hi This Is Flume by Flume is imo the greatest electronic record of the last decade or so and easily the most immersive and cohesive album I’ve listened to in years. The fact that he is making music that sounds like literally nothing else but still manages to be incredibly popular says it all imo.
I’d love for you to make a video on the shapeshifting chameleon that is Of Montreal. Going over their different eras and your takes on them would be a fascinating video, as I haven’t seen anyone really do the topic justice. At the very least, a video on Hissing Fauna would be an amazing treat :) Alternatively, a video on the elephant 6 collective as a whole would be absolutely fascinating. That whole wave of Neo-Psychedelia rock-pop is probably my favorite music rabbit whole I’ve ever stumbled upon, I’d love to hear your take on it! The Apples in Stereo, the minders, the Olivia Tremor Control, Beulah, everything Jeff Magnum, the list goes on. Quite a bit of potential content there
Blonde on Blonde-Bob Dylan. For me, easily the greatest album ever made. Dylan is at his lyrical prime, since this was recorded in Nashville, the musicianship is top notch. His vocal delivery is raw and passionate. Just sublime.
Sampha - Process I was 15 when it came out and haven’t stop listening since, I truly believe it’s a one of a kind album because I’ve been searching for 4 years to find an album that is better and I can’t. It has heartfelt lyrics of his experience of his mother going through cancer, blended sounds from Sierra Leone to London, beautiful production and an amazing voice to go with it, in my opinion the best album ever made and I’ve been itching to hear another Sampha album since
XO - Elliott Smith When The Pawn - Fiona Apple Dummy - Portishead Disintegration - The Cure Velocity: Design: Comfort - Sweet Trip Oh and Vespertine by Björk ofc
Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Only 8 tracks in total, but not a single dull moment from start to finish.

Love this album too but “Real” has been getting on my nerves more and more. Never really a big fan of this song but these days I actually skip it basically every time. It is just starting to annoy me now. Am I missing something with this song?
Person Pitch- Panda Bear. This album to me is the greatest because of how other worldly it sounds but yet it sounds familiar at the same time due to its many samples and influenced. The reverb and layered vocals to the unique structures make this to me a perfect album , even the worst song is better than a lot of other music in recent memory.
Sinéad O’Connor - lion and the cobra. This album isn’t particularly well produced or anything but her vocals and the stories she tells are gorgeous so I definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t heard it!! My favorite tracks are “drink before the war” and “Troy”
Think it’d be dead cool for u to talk about Counting Crows. Everyone knows Accidentally In Love coz it was in Shrek but I feel they’re influence is massively overlooked in today’s climate. Duritz’s lyrics on tracks like ‘a long december’, ‘Mrs Potter’s lullaby’ and ‘Up All Night’ are enough to bring anyone to tears but for some reason I never hear about them anywhere.
I doubt you'll see this but I'd love to see something about Godspeed You. Or Mouse on the Keys - an anxious object George Costanza - Summer of George E.P, Nails - Abandon All Life Glocca Morra - Just Married Boney M - Take the Heat Off Me anything by DEVO. Any album by The Spits
Vegas by The Crystal Method. My father first played this album for me when I was around 7-9 in the mid 2000s after I played a little game on Miniclip called Need For Madness, which apparently took a sample of one of the songs. Long story short, this album has some of the best and most futuristic sounding tracks I've ever listened to, and this was made back in 1997. Listening to this album feels like you're taking a high speed trip to another universe and I fucking love it. Comin' Back and Keep Hope Alive are my two favorite tracks on the album, and some of my favorite songs of all time. Definitely check it out!
Future Me Hates Me by The Beths is one of my favorite albums. It manages to be supremely catchy as well as unique and original. It has great lyrics about love, self-loathing, etc. and every song is an absolute banger. I highly suggest.
This should really become a series!! I know some people frown upon twenty one pilots but ‘Trench’ is one of my favourite albums and i also think ‘A night at the races’ is amazing.
Dj Shadow - Endtroducing Its like a love letter to music itself. Amazing samples from all over the spectrum. The drums are sick. The atmosphere is nocturnal and I love the night time. I love samples.
Negro Swan by Blood Orange is my favorite album of all time. it's something about the somber and sleepy production, mixed with his wistful falsetto vocals, undercut by this brilliant interview from Janet Mock that just makes me.... idk... I can't really explain how it makes me feel. super sentimental stuff. my favorite track is probably Out of your League feat. Steve Lacy and that cowbell is just... crack in music form

But my favorite is definitely Spiral.
just got back from the discomfort - we're alright by the brave little abacus: one of the most underappreciated masterpieces ever created. it's a perfect album in every sense of the word. it's not uncommon to hit play and hate it during your first listen with the questionable (on a technical level) vocal performances and weird instrumentation, but holy hell is this thing ever a grower. nothing even comes close to the depth, sincerity, and raw emotion this record has. i totally get not digging it but for me it legitimately changed my life
Nails - you will never be one of us Is the perfect album for me! It's the most abrasive music ever yet also super catchy. The production, the lyrics, the memorable songwriting everything! I've seen complaints about the ending but to me the fade out feels like a massive loud train passing. It's perfect!
Rodeo- Travis Scott, Luv Is Rage 2- Lil Uzi, Sleepy For President- Sleepy Hallow, NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPE- Metro Boomin, ASTROWORLD-Travis Scott, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon- Pop Smoke, & The Life Of Pablo- Kayne West
I’d love to hear your thoughts on The Lion’s Roar by First Aid Kit. It’s a fantastic collection of indie folk songs with some incredible harmonies from the Söderberg sisters. Both the music and lyrics are very image provoking imo
Has anyone mentioned “We Will Always Love You” by The Avalanches? If not I’m going to, it’s one of my favorite albums ever and I’m just so happy I discovered them myself lol
@@Holdyehorses they’re both incredible don’t get me wrong, but We Will Always Love You was the first I’d heard of them, so I’m a little biased to make that one my favorite lol. I’m a huge fan of theirs because of it

Saint Pepsi - Hit Vibes It is a must listen, just for it's importance in the genre, but for me it is special for other reasons. Still really solid after all these years.
Since everybody’s putting some of their favorite albums I’ll put mine... Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance It was the album that got my into MCR. I still love listening to it regularly Rumours - Fleetwood Mac There’s literally no weak songs on that album. I sometimes say to myself “Okay I’m just gonna listen to Dreams and then go listen to something else” but when it ends the rest of the album plays and I literally have to finish listening to it. I listen to it on my way to school a lot... Automatic Writing - Ataxia No weak songs. Just no weak songs. They may be quite (really) long but they’re so good I also love listening to it a lot (Just realized you probably don’t know what Ataxia is... It’s a supergroup I’m not gonna explain a lot here) The Getaway - Red Hot Chili Peppers Highly controversial, I love this album so fricking much It’s crazy. The bass lines are just so good! To be totally honest here, my heart breaks a little more every time someone says it’s one of their worst albums, even worse than their debut :.) Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd No need for explaining just a legendary album. I tell you I freaked out when I saw the CD while me and my dad were going to go buy something, I had to immediately buy it lol Grace - Jeff Buckley I miss him, I wish we could’ve heard more of his awesome music :.) (Why do all of my favorite musicians die it’s not fair) In Rainbows - Radiohead Ahhhhhh amazing album!!! It got me into Radiohead and I’m obsessed with them right now hahaha In Rainbows is a masterpiece I want to cry because of how good it is There’s so much more those are only a few I pretty much spend my day listening to music and playing guitar lol
Honestly not my favorite from GY!BE. F# A# was, though that’s mostly because dead flag blues is genuinely one of the favorite songs of all time. I even found G_D’s Pee to be on par or better than Lift Your Fists.
If you do a part 2 please look at the Celeste soundtrack. It’s the best video game music I’ve ever heard and it works perfectly for the game. But it also works really well as music on its own
L’école du micro d’argent - IAM, lyricism 11/10, production 10/10, enjoyability 11/10, Impact 10/10. It’s basically enter the 36 chambers, but the French version and on steroids in every facet (much better lyricism, performances and beats).
I'd love to hear your take on the album Crumbling by Mid Air Thief... People tend to put Korean music in a box but the mix of dynamic and dense production that combines indie with electronic deserves to be talked about more in wider circles. It's pretty close to a 10, at least for me.
Nothing Happens - Wallows Every song on is album is just amazing-I think that no matter what genre you mostly listen you, you could like this album at least a little bit

Elliott Smith's self titled is my favorite album. Just so good and cool
Black country, new Road - For the first time, Melt Banana - Fetch, The Clash - London Calling. Three great albums I absolutely adore
i deem your selections to be more than adequate
Badflower - OK, IM SICK
Any Cage the Elephant album
Highly Suspect - Mister Asylum
Dead Poet Society - -!-
Flight Club - Until the Sun Drowns
Bad Omens- Finding God Before God Finds Me
The Wombats - Glitterbug
Beartooth - Disgusting
Anything at all by cleopatrick, they are currently my favorite band and deserve some love if you wanna give it to them
Is This It by The Strokes. I still remember thinking to myself that music couldn’t actually change your life... until this album did that with me.
That was just a breathe of fresh air when it came out. I still love it.
For me it's either In The Airplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, or Girl With Basket Of Fruit by Xiu Xiu
System of a down - toxicity
simple solid unqiue absurd yet real and aged like fine wine
It did age pretty well. I listened to it for the first time in years thinking it would sound kind of cringe-y edgy, but you can't really place it too firmly in the 2000s and it just has great sound quality
all killer, zero filler
Amazing album
There's a huge margin between the peaks and troughs of this album.
Yes sir
For me personally it's Plastic Beach by Gorillaz. It might be because of strong nostalgia and memories tied to the album for me but every song feels like it's just made to perfection. Besides the music itself it has such a wide array of artists giving it a not easily definable genre. Music aside the artwork for the album and Gorillaz as a whole is also gorgeous.
Yessir
Amazing album! One of my favorites of all time. So many different moods and great features, while having a great message about the environment and how waste is destroying it
Since I Left You by The Avalanches is an underrated masterpiece

@Alberto Lezama Garcia believe it or not I haven’t heard anything besides this, what’s another good album to dive into by them?
@@calebdickerson2003 Wildflower or We will always love you
Spiderland by Slint. it’s one of the darkest coming of age stories i’ve heard in music.
Love that album to death

The Brave Little Abacus - Just Got Back From The Discomfort-We’re Alright
Emo has been my favorite music genre for a while now.
FUCK YEAH, I love that album too :)
THIS
same favorite album everrrrr
AMAZING ALBUM but holy shit weatherdays come in is the greatest album made
Clown Core- Toilet
Two members, two clown masks, groove metal, the most impressive sounds I’ve ever heard from a saxophone, goofy as hell but done to perfection, do I need to say more?

You can’t even hear it!
@@MrName-fo2td trust me, after hearing that line at the start you know you won't be able to hear anything for the next week
At the very least, a video on Hissing Fauna would be an amazing treat :)
Alternatively, a video on the elephant 6 collective as a whole would be absolutely fascinating.
Sampha - Process
I was 15 when it came out and haven’t stop listening since, I truly believe it’s a one of a kind album because I’ve been searching for 4 years to find an album that is better and I can’t. It has heartfelt lyrics of his experience of his mother going through cancer, blended sounds from Sierra Leone to London, beautiful production and an amazing voice to go with it, in my opinion the best album ever made and I’ve been itching to hear another Sampha album since
lemon demon - spirit phone. just graduated high school, and that happened to be the album that sound tracked most of my high school years.
XO - Elliott Smith
When The Pawn - Fiona Apple
Dummy - Portishead
Disintegration - The Cure
Velocity: Design: Comfort - Sweet Trip
Oh and Vespertine by Björk ofc
Dummy is amazing
Definitly Morbid Stuff by PUP one of my favourite Punk Albums next to Joy as an act of Resistence from IDLES!
IDLES is goated!!!
PUP will always have a place in my heart the band is fucking amazing

Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Only 8 tracks in total, but not a single dull moment from start to finish.
God it's impossible to choose just one
Peach Pit - You and Your Friends
Peach Pit - Being So Normal
IDLES - Joy as an Act of Resistance
IDLES - Ultra Mono
IDLES - Brutalism
Supultura - Roots
Måneskin - Teatro d'ira Vol. I
Palaye Royale - The Bastards
Talking Heads - Remain In Light. I've been obsessed with this record recently.
was difficult for me to fully appreciate at first, but its definitely a 10 for me now

Finally someone that agrees GKMC is better than TPAB👏🏽
nah tpab is the only good Kendrick album

Love this album too but “Real” has been getting on my nerves more and more. Never really a big fan of this song but these days I actually skip it basically every time. It is just starting to annoy me now. Am I missing something with this song?
@@henrycooper7930 really? i think Real is great, i usually skip Backseat/Compton
Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame
The Stooges - Fun House
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
Herbie Hancock- Head Hunters
Think it’d be dead cool for u to talk about Counting Crows. Everyone knows Accidentally In Love coz it was in Shrek but I feel they’re influence is massively overlooked in today’s climate. Duritz’s lyrics on tracks like ‘a long december’, ‘Mrs Potter’s lullaby’ and ‘Up All Night’ are enough to bring anyone to tears but for some reason I never hear about them anywhere.
Mr. Jones is a banger too. The kind of song that automatically brings a smile to my face.
@@santiagobauza4257 yeh defo! The music video for that’s iconic too
Townes Van Zandt's self titled album and Elizabeth Cotten's Shake Sugaree are my go to comfort albums that just feel so warm and beautiful

Glocca Morra - Just Married
Boney M - Take the Heat Off Me

Any album by The Spits
twenty øne piløts - Trench
this record, musically and lyrically, is hands-down their best work in their discography.
It's a good album, but they are almost too mainstream now... We need some of the experimental stuff back and scaled and icy isn't showing that
i was just about to comment that! it’s so good
The Scott Pilgrim soundtrack. Been obsessed with this movie and album ever since I watched and heard them for the first time.
Back To Black
It makes me happy, sad, intense, reward, anxious and everything in between. And those lyrics are POWERFUL
Worlds - Porter Robinson, Good Faith - Madeon, Torches/Supermodel/SHC - Foster The People, Discovery - Daft Punk, Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin, Parachutes - Coldplay
Dj Shadow - Endtroducing
Its like a love letter to music itself.
Hawaii part II by Miracle Musical is a magical album, you should definitely check it out.

These are all contenders.
But my favorite is definitely Spiral.
just got back from the discomfort - we're alright by the brave little abacus: one of the most underappreciated masterpieces ever created. it's a perfect album in every sense of the word. it's not uncommon to hit play and hate it during your first listen with the questionable (on a technical level) vocal performances and weird instrumentation, but holy hell is this thing ever a grower. nothing even comes close to the depth, sincerity, and raw emotion this record has. i totally get not digging it but for me it legitimately changed my life
Nails - you will never be one of us
Is the perfect album for me!
It's the most abrasive music ever yet also super catchy.
The production, the lyrics, the memorable songwriting everything!
I've seen complaints about the ending but to me the fade out feels like a massive loud train passing.
It's perfect!
No mention of Lift Yr. Skinny Fists like Antennas to heaven ? That album was a religious experience for me. Holy shit.
This year I decided to listen to it for the first time, and fell in love with it.

Thats a great album, but Since I left you is definitely their masterpiece imo

It is a must listen, just for it's importance in the genre, but for me it is special for other reasons. Still really solid after all these years.
Superunknown - Soundgarden
filled with fantasic riffs and strange alien effects plus the some of chris's strongest lyrics
Since everybody’s putting some of their favorite albums I’ll put mine...
Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance
It was the album that got my into MCR. I still love listening to it regularly
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
There’s literally no weak songs on that album. I sometimes say to myself “Okay I’m just gonna listen to Dreams and then go listen to something else” but when it ends the rest of the album plays and I literally have to finish listening to it. I listen to it on my way to school a lot...
Automatic Writing - Ataxia
No weak songs. Just no weak songs. They may be quite (really) long but they’re so good I also love listening to it a lot (Just realized you probably don’t know what Ataxia is... It’s a supergroup I’m not gonna explain a lot here)
The Getaway - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Highly controversial, I love this album so fricking much It’s crazy. The bass lines are just so good! To be totally honest here, my heart breaks a little more every time someone says it’s one of their worst albums, even worse than their debut :.)
Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd
No need for explaining just a legendary album. I tell you I freaked out when I saw the CD while me and my dad were going to go buy something, I had to immediately buy it lol
Grace - Jeff Buckley
I miss him, I wish we could’ve heard more of his awesome music :.) (Why do all of my favorite musicians die it’s not fair)
In Rainbows - Radiohead

Corey Feldman - Angelic 2 The Core
Doris - Earl Sweatshirt. Each song it's amazing in it's own right
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
Honestly not my favorite from GY!BE. F# A# was, though that’s mostly because dead flag blues is genuinely one of the favorite songs of all time. I even found G_D’s Pee to be on par or better than Lift Your Fists.

Have fun by Smerz.
Idk what it is but something about the production on that album transports me somewhere so blissful and nostalgic
I'd love to hear your take on the album Crumbling by Mid Air Thief... People tend to put Korean music in a box but the mix of dynamic and dense production that combines indie with electronic deserves to be talked about more in wider circles. It's pretty close to a 10, at least for me.
