ABOUT: 🔻
Nanowar of Steel is an Italian comedy heavy metal band. Their name is a pun on the metal bands Manowar and Steel Panther, and represents their tendency to satirize "true metal", the primary focus of their music.
Sabaton is a Swedish heavy metal band from Falun, Sweden. The vast majority of their albums are written about historical events, mainly wars and significant battles. Sabaton has been referred to as one of the "big four" power metal bands, along with Helloween, Blind Guardian and DragonForce.

When I was stationed in Panama back in the day, I got to watch this battle (and YES it was a BATTLE) between the heavily favored Brazilians and the Italian underdogs. The game was scoreless throughout regulation and extra time, finally going to penalty kicks to decide the match. It was the greatest soccer match I'd ever seen in my life! The company rec room was packed, and many cases of beer were drunk that day! 🍺😎

This is the most very serious song of NanowaR, but be aware, they don’t have limits, they can be really annoying and really nice at the same time, be sure to have subtitles and prepare to be surprised by them. This year they are on tour (a lot of shows in UK also), to celebrate 20years of NanowaR of Steel.

Since you enjoy Sabaton and have a good sense of humour I thought you'd appreciate this one! I actually saw Sabaton _and_ NanowaR of Steel live in April at two very different concerts. My favourite part of the latter was the Wall of Love - like a Wall of Death, but changed because they dislike clearing up blood and broken teeth, so we divided and rushed towards each other for hugs (Mr Baffo gave warnings about no inappropriate touching without permission beforehand). I got to hug a guy in a Judas Priest jacket.
NoS started out as just Nanowar, and at least according to Mohammed they were crap but determined to get better. When fellow Italians Rhapsody had to change their name to Rhapsody of Fire, NoS decided to do something similar. If they have a fault, I would say it is in their portrayal of women in their videos and album art (though happily not so much these days). Be warned the _Barbie_ one is NSFW lyrically...
Both the songs you commented on at the end are good, but my other faves are _Valhalleluja_ (probably my #1), _Heavy_ _Metal_ _Kibble_ (if you are familiar with Judas Priest), and _SOBER_ (if you are familiar with Alestorm). Both those last two will lose some impact if you don't know the original bands, but the first is a good choice whatever. Enjoy!

the song is about the final from the 1994 soccer world cup, where Italy lost on penalties.
for us Italians it was a sporting tragedy...as Churchiil said, "Italians go to war as if it were a football match, and they go to a football match as if they were at war".

Yeah, nice reaction on it. So you have the choice to go with the actual songs or go on with the earlier ones .. or do both, maybe?
The ones from their actual album are: Sober, Disco Metal and Winterstorm in the night.
Older ones: Good starts are "Norwegian Reggaeton" which got them their contract with Napalm Records, or "Valhalleluja" which brought them into the reaction scene in no time

Nanowar of Steel used to go by Nanowar, but I believe they were told to cease and desist by lawyers representing Manowar or something to that effect so they just added "of Steel" to the end and job done hehe :)
