BACH Cantata BWV 172 - Elias MÄDLER & Lionel WUNSCH - Duet "Komm, laß mich nicht länger warten"

Duo de la cantate "Erschallet, ihr Lieder, erklinget ihr Saiten!", donnée pour la première fois le dimanche de Pentecôte 1714. Une des cantates que Bach préférait et qu'il a fait jouer plusieurs fois.
Les chants de l'âme (soprano) et du Saint Esprit (alto) se mêlent mais il ne s'agit pas d'un dialogue, la voix du Saint Esprit est "subliminale", comme une berceuse, qui emprunte au Cantique des cantiques des paroles qui évoquent l'amour profane.

* Elias Mädler a été membre du Tölzer Knabenchor de 2009 à décembre 2017 et Lionel Wunsch de 2011 à septembre 2017.
Lionel est soprano mais il s'est vu confier la partie d'alto pour ce concert.

The songs of the soul (soprano) and the Holy Spirit (alto) mingle but it is not a dialogue, the voice of the Holy Spirit is "subliminal", like a lullaby, borrowing from the Song of Songs words that evoke secular love.
Elias Mädler was a member of the Tölzer Knabenchor from 2009 to December 2017 and Lionel Wunsch from 2011 to September 2017.
Lionel is a soprano, but he was given the alto part for this concert.

This is a lovely recording. Lionel does well in the Alto part.

Agreed, but it doesn't say much for the Toelzers' altos that a treble was given the alto part for this duet.
