You left out Sean Murphy oblique injury in FIRST game & missed 2 months, & Ozzie Albies broken toe 2 weeks later & missed 10 games. Besides Strider IL (Season), Max Fried IL (Currently), Pitchers, AJ Minter, AJ Smith-Shawver, Hurston Waldrep, Ray Kerr (TJ Season), Tyler Matzek, & Pierce Johnson have all been on injured list! At least 4 position players starters, Murphy, Acuna, Albies, & Harris will miss at least 2 months or the entire season! Probably missing someone here.

I’m a Ga native and never have been into baseball until the Braves wicked awesome season last year. So this year I’ve tried to watch them this year and while they started the season being what looked like a top 5 team. They have fallen from that now. Injuries have plagued them it’s not just injuries though I know the team isn’t going to have a historical season every year but I have been disappointed in Matt Olson and Orlando Arcia. Maybe in 2025 they can put it past them and get back to playing well

I’m gonna say modern personal trainers and managers just aren’t as smart as the 1890’s through 1990’s. Players use to be iron men, almost never missing a significant amount of time due to injury, and during the offseason they worked a normal job instead of training and relaxing in a hot tub. What changed? Sports science got involved and turned them into glass bones and tender muscles

I'm a lifelong Braves fan and I just hate seeing all these injuries happening to our star players (Strider, Fried, Acuna, Murphy, Harris, Matzek and Albies)! I'm just glad that Murphy has been back since his oblique injury at the beginning of the season, Ozzie missing 6-8 weeks with a fractured left wrist, Max with left forearm neuritis, Michael "Money Mike" Harris with a grade 2 left hamstring strain, Acuna out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee, Tyler "Nutsack" Matzek with left elbow soreness, and Strider out for the remainder of the season with a right ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injury! I just want us to win our 7th consecutive division title real bad! We need to show the MLB that the postseason still runs through Atlanta and we also need to show the MLB that my Atlanta Braves are a force to be reckoned with! Don't mess with my Atlanta Braves because you know what will happen: you will get beat by my Atlanta Braves! Whether we win or lose, I will forever be a Braves fan! Once an Atlanta Brave always an Atlanta Brave! It's a great day to be an Atlanta Brave! Love my Atlanta Braves with all my heart! Go Braves! Chop On! We are Braves Country! #BravesCountry

Always loved the Braves, no matter who is on the roster they play as a team trying to win. It is as if invisible gremlins are on the field waiting to injure the next starter, blinders have been dropped before umpires, and all the bats have turned to rubber. I cannot imagine the physiological impact that has been on each player. No wonder they keep trying for home runs so they can just trot around the bases. The Strider injury was the first blow, but the chain of them since has been painful in more than one way.

As a Braves fan, I, too, was ready to pack it in for the season. But then, I thought back to 2021, winning only 88 games, Acuna going down and losing most of our starters, I thought, hey, look what's happening now: we're getting part of the band back together with Rosario and Soler coming back. Phillies and the Braves are both going in opposite directions as of this writing. It might be another freak world series win. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a sober fan, and I'm not drunk on the Braves going on this current tear. Are they back? Who knows? But like they say, these players will eventually play like the back of their cards. The Phillies aren't going anywhere, and it's going to be a fight for the ages down the stretch like just like the Mets vs Braves of 2023.

If you like sabermetrics, the Braves are trying to find a way to replace around 16-20 fWAR.
Harris, Murphy (about 5-6 months total lost games), Acuna, Strider (10-12 WAR projected), then Ozzie (2+ months missed) and now Fried and Lopez tbd.
Also, Waldrep and AJSS immediately hit the IL after being called up lol.
They just ran out of bodies to replace that production.
Add in Olson and Arcia having career lows, Murphy’s swing still not being right post-oblique, and Riley being bad for the first half - lol it’s just a never ending list.
Goes to show you how fast things can change. 6 division titles in a row and the organization was projected absurdly high pre-2024, but these things can still happen and completely wreck your season.

8 days since the upload and the Phillies have lost 5 series in a row. 6 of their last 7. The Braves came back in the Mets series to absolutely mop the floor with them in the last 2 games. They went on to Milwaukee and dominated the Brewers and are now only 6.5 games back from the Phillies for the division, despite the fact that a minimum of like 5 all-stars/MVPs/CY candidates are down and out. To me that says the Braves aren't broken but are instead one of the most elite, well run organizations in the world to be able to withstand that and be in the position they are.
