I feel like the Marmont is similar to a lot of bags in LV and Chanel.. I'm with the Dionysus! It's unique and a great collector's item!
The Dionysus is the best bag to come out of Gucci in a while. Hands down...Dionysus. The Marmont is lovely though!

I love both of your bags!! Think the Dionysus made Gucci's signature monogram feel modern with a slight vintage design. Something Louis Vuitton could take note of for their monogram.
I actually do believe that LV is doing pretty good with their monogram as well. Maybe you haven't seen them but they came up with really cute monogram pieces such as mini backpacks, the Epi Twist and the Petite Malle which is too cute to handle!
i wasn't really into the dionysus but i went into the gucci store the other day and tried it on and i fell in love! it's such a cool and practical bag 😍😍😍

I like Dionysus a lot more . I also think Dionysus will last in time. It's unique but not loud. Love the hardware too. Suede lining and GG canvas matches so well. I'm not a fan of marmont. It's cute but has nothing special to it. A black bag with a signature logo.. I would rather go for Chanel. Mark my words, Let's see how these 2 turn out next year haha

I love the inside lining of the mini marmont such a pretty color it gives the bag a pop of color and a great reason to buy!
Both are absolutely gorgeous! I absolutely love the Gucci Marmont Bag. The velvet is so luxurious and looks expensive. The GG logos on the canvas Dionysus looks very chic and iconic. I can’t choose between the two, I think a handbag collection needs both!
I definitely agree with all your points for both bags. And I'm shocked with the price tag of it. If you had the money for both, I'd suggest getting both. Both at reasonable price points for a designer that's well known. But definitely the Dionysus over the marmont. The overall construction of it is more luxurious with each and every detail it has.

I have the Dionysus mini in the blooms print in blue and I am obsessed with it! When I first bought it I was afraid it would become a trend and I wouldn't get full value when it came to sell it but I don't care anymore! It's so beautiful and the hardware and lock is everything. Although I have the same problem with the chain twisting :( xx

I definitely got both. The taupe Dionysus mini and the pink/purple velvet mini. I don't think they are trends. Even if they do turn out that way I will use these bags forever.

Thank you for doing this video Mel, was actually looking for a comparison between these exact two mini bags. Even though I like the look of the Dionysus, really trendy and chic I would personally go with the Gucci GG Marmont in velvet. I was looking for the perfect velvet bag to match my velvet shoes and am getting so addicted to this Gucci one 😍💕 very beautiful. The gold hw brings it to a classy level, which makes the bag, in my opinion, more than only a trend. I could imagine that velvet goes out of trend though, but I wouldn't care either, have my D&G velvet shoes for years and still love them. Thank you again for sharing, xoxo 💋
Love them both equally and I agree with you on the Dionysus being a day bag! Now the marmont in black I could not do because I have a Chanel Boy gold hardware and side by side they look like twins. I ended up with the pink marmont and I'm completely obsessed. However I needed a velvet marmont in my life, so I'm currently waiting on the teal! FYI love your vids!
I purchase the marmont... strap was extremely short, and felt cheaply made... switched it for the mini dionysus(black suede) love it...and longer chain... sturdy and well made.
Both are my fave from gucci:)) i had to get both coz i can't compare theyre both beautiful especially in person :)) dionysus is so unique compared to all the bags i own while marmont is a very elegant bag. for me, i see them as the classic timeless bags from gucci and not trendy bags definitely worth keeping forever...

The Dionysus is available in all leather and in all suede so you can have the day to evening look you want. Prefer the Dionysus over Marmont but what I love about the Marmont is the leather included in the chain strap. The chain can be a bit painful especially if you stuff your bags.

Hard choice for sure. The Marmont I think could very well become a great Gucci classic. I have the same GG logo and metal on my Gucci Peyton loafers with pearls, and have not had any trouble with the gold (or the pearls for that matter).
Thank you so much for a review. I have the medium size Dionysus in the leather version and have no issues with the chain turning and sticking with me. I love love love the MArmont as well in velvet, I think I will be adding that soon. Totally agree the velvet Marmont could be a trendy because of the material not necessarily the style but could be used endlessly as a night time bag. One quick question, if you're caught in a downpour will that ruin the velvet forever? I live where there are two seasons (rainy and dry) that's why I am asking, also the canvas could it get wet without being ruined??

I would love both but for my life, the Dionysus would be my choice. I usually don't go anywhere that merits a dressier purse so the Marmont would not be used enough to merit the cost. They are both beautiful..
The Dionysus is a trend that will be totally over next year. I think the Marmont is timeless and you'll be able to use it forever.

Love this video! I love both bags but decided to go for the Marmont and actually posted a vlog of the day I got it on my channel just now! It's so weird how the mini is 3cm smaller than the small, it looks the same size as mine!
Does the velvet marmot bag travel well?? Meaning when you wear it cross body does the strap dig into your shoulder when you wear it long term??

I'm currently lusting over both bags. Unfortunately, the velvet marmont is sold out, and I don't particularly care for it in regular leather.
I noticed the Dionysus is coming out in an all leather version. Have you seen it? Would love to hear your thoughts. My only hesitation with that is whether the bag will lose some of its structure.

I think the Dionysus is unique and chic style...different than the other brand. I have medium and mini Dionysus because both sizes are nice! GG marmont looks similar to Chanel boy with gold chain.

I got the marmont in the leather and it's beautiful :D I personally thought Dionysus's suede was really hard to take care of and looked bit tacky in my opinion.
