If I can afford a Typhoon then I can probably afford to rent a chopper to take me from the nearest airport to my office.

The Defensive Aids SubSystem (DASS) could be enhanced, could it not? But that would require a dedicated European ELINT capability to build up a threat library as well... Anyway, I would not be surprised one bit if Typhoon will serve much longer and FCAS or Tempest suffered major delays, budget overruns and a host of other unforeseen technological setbacks, since that seems to be inherent to modern fighter development worldwide (except in China, but China applies the "better well stolen than badly conceived" principle).

Luftkämpfe werden heutzutage ausschließlich über Radar/Radar aus anderen verbundenen Quellen und Raketen auf 100km+(Meteor) geführt. Lieber noch bessere Radare und bessere Integration/Konnektivität zu anderen Radarquellen.
