Alan, this entire series is not only very enlightening and educational but actually really enjoyable to watch. They are very well made all around so thank you for the time and effort you put into them!
i have the stupidest smile on my face watching these lessons, like i already know everything i need to know about those principles, but the way he explained them isannoyingly beautiful ! am so happy watching this ! it's so perfect !
I am seriously glad I found this I always use frame to frame and it ends up licking ass but with pose to pose it looks like you actually have a idea of how long each action is
Wow, I never realized how indepth these tutorials where, I just skipped through and missed the 12 principles. Then I got bored, and decided to watch one, this has really helped me animate :D thanks bro. GL with future projects
Pose to pose saved me a lot of fucking time when animating, back then I eventually run out of motivation when animating straight ahead as it feels like it will never end, but with pose to pose I felt like there's an end and therefore giving me hope that I could finish it on time PS: pose to pose will most definitely never work in stop motion, you're better off doing straight ahead
i tend to use a hybrid of both methods of animating, and i really like that because you can do the main poses first, and then go back later and fill in the inbetween poses.
There was a phrase we learned in 2d Animation, "Not everything, all at once." Meaning do the primary action, then the secondary, tertiary, etc. Like this animation I'm working on has a woman dancing, since she's standing in one spot, I'm animating her trunk first, then I'll animate the legs, arms, hair, and so on.
