I thought about this topic for a while. I mean sure, I could show a bunch of strategies of King's successes, but that does nothing but confuse some players more if they do not understand the Hero's purpose. If you are sitting there trying to convince yourself that Wizard level increases helped the Level of the King's success, you clearly are one of the people this video was intended for. To say that the King level played no role in the progression forward on building destruction is basically you trying to counter claim the point of upgrading the hero. Like I said at the end of the video, NOBODY is forcing you to upgrade your hero's, but know that one reason is why most high-level competitive clans will never accept your account. I am simply here trying to help viewers understand something I have known since 2015. Strategies you see on RUclips might look OP due to one or 2 troops, but look again at those attacks (regardless of who the RUclips channel is) and check those hero levels, i assure you in my 7 years of game play, they played a major role in those attacks success ;)
He gains hp exponentially, so that is why it seems to suck early on. But as you upgrade him, each difference is greater than the last so that is why at lower levels it seems like it isn't worth upgrading, but trust me, especially after level 30, he gets TANKY.
You never know how good the barbarian king is until your in the higher town halls and you have to attack without him. His stats at town hall 12 and 13 are better than a pekkas.

The Barbarian king mind you centuries ago counqured the U.K or Great Britain which was one of the top 5 strongest army on his own with a few troops and even almost been in the throne for almost 2 years more or less. In the Game it literally says in the BK description "This menace soaks up damage" so you get a free tank. The people who said he shouldnt upgrade the BK, he should leave the clan.
exactly man , i love my max heroes they are absolutely worth the grind , it takes a lot of time and effort but at the end its very rewarding and u understand why they are so important and powerful

Heroes play a specific roles in higher townhalls depending on your attack. It might be to take out a particular area or a defence etc. You can leave a troop un upgraded as you might not use them at all (like Valkyrie just as an example ). It won’t affect your gameplay much. But you use your heroes in every single attack. So makes sense to upgrade every hero.
Yeah sometimes they clear large and important area of the base even have the power to destroy half of the base depending on your skills and can handle the attack even after your troop dies
Yep. It's what seperates a Good raid to a bad one. Also this is why you should have Freeze spells in hand when going against single target Inferno, as They have a good chance to target the King and will melt his HP away. If you freeze it, then use his ablility, you can save your king's life.
I also use to initially never upgrade my king when I was a TH 9 but as I went to TH 10 I started playing clan war and that was when I realized the need of strong king and after upgrading him constantly got him to max lvl for TH 10 . And now I maxed him for TH 11
Fun fact: Golem and Lava hound has 8,000 hp. Ice hound has 10,000 hp. A lvl 75 barbarian king has 10,300. This means that king is the most tankiest unit in coc. Now, if your king is falling behind in level, upgrade it now. It will help you a lot. :)

@@snakezmaestro a reason the king can keep going is the wizards damage/level. The higher the wizards level, the further the king will be able to go because buildings will be destroyed more easily and quicker by higher level wizards. They are kinda codependent
Point is, don’t neglect any hero, they all play major roles the higher you go. It’s a grind game for a reason it’s not meant to have your heroes high lvl easily. You have to work for it and it’s VERY worth it. You will notice it with every lvl that they survive longer and longer. It’s worth it!
Long story short: Your king and queen are made for eachother. Your tank doesn't have as much going for it if he doesn't have solid damage to back him up, and inversely your damage is going to be exposed without a tank to soak up damage for her. Both are required for truly successful strategy.
If you use and air army you can use your king and queen to take out at least one air defense usually one of them is very close to the outside and use lightning spells for the rest of the air defenses
I have been hesitant to upgrade bk for a long time, but when I upgrade from 40 to 75, I was able to get 3 stars of th13 frequently in battles, so I definitely recommend upgrading.
I think of BK as a tank that can pop a cap on a TH, inferno, scatter, or inconvenient wall, or even rush to clear a small sector with with his ability and keep other troops from going that way.

At town hall 9 to 10 i thought that their is no use of king taking tons of resources and has way less attack power than king but now in th 11 u can seriously understand the power of king so I started to upgrade it now it's 35 going from 15 in th 11
Nice video. I know it's basically impossible to do that but, if you compare low level BK to a higher one, you have to have all the other troops the same level. In your video, the level of the barbarians was higher, the higher the BK level was, and the same goes with the wizards.
Here's the actual reason no one upgrades the king beyond 50. The Dark Elixr cost is really high, he's gone for 7-8days,and the upgrade barely changes what he can do. It's more preferable to having him at lv50 and use him in every attack while farming
Whoever is reading this, upgrade your heroes. Trust me. This comes from a fresh th13 (max th12) with lvl 65 heroes. They make a difference the higher they are.
Bro is not about the difference in having a BK lvl 50 for a 51, its about lvl 50 and like 65. It makes a HUGE difference. If you have a lvl 50 king as a TH14, even TH13, youre not 3 staring any max bases, let alone a TH15

Well I think people saying that you shouldn't bother upgrading him is because he is kind of underwhelming in comparison to the other three. Which doesn't mean he's bad but upgrading heroes takes a lot of time and resources so people tend to rather invest them into the queen and later royal champion. So I think it's perfectly fine if your barbarian king is a bit under leveled. For example I cannot recommend staying th9 even through all your buildings are maxed just because your king isn't lvl 30 yet. Focus on your queen and when she's done use what's left over for your king but don't wait to upgrade th just because of him.
@@KBR_2k4 Every hero after lvl 40-45 costs near 2 mil, you'll end up almost completely emptying the dark elixir storage by just upgrading 1 hero. Not even considering the champion at this point.

I think the wizards levels also have to be factored into consideration, as the wizards will help the King clear obstacles in his way faster so he'll be moving out of range of certain defenses faster such as an xbow for example
BK is rly useful in smash attacks, tanking, has an op ability and has one of the highest damage per hit. His upgrades also make a difference and sometimes when u upgrade him u might not need him sometimes so yes he is worth it
Not sure but I always see Barbarian King as just a beefed up meatshield that is like a barbarian, giant and pekka combined into one. It always gets killed first before the Queen but is there a performance difference if you build him into a higher level?
I definitely advice to upgrade the barbarian king! It can have a great impact on any attack. As others have been saying, it's basically a free pekka on drugs. However, I just want to criticize the comparison you did a bit. To compare the different levels you should've tried to play to the best of your ability with each of the king levels. I noticed that the lvl 13 was getting chunked by the multi inferno as he tried to get through the bomb tower instead of popping his ability there. He could've gotten further. Also there's a pretty big different between a lvl 5 wizard and a lvl 10 wizard, so the comparison would've been more reliable if no wizards were used. For a comparison to be accurateyou need to use the same parameters for all tests with the only difference being the level, even the placement of the wizards would affect the results. But overall nice video, I enjoyed the content thoroughly
Upgrading Barbarian King is very worth it. He is strong and also he gave so many benefits with the Archer Queen like for example he can tank for her so the Queen can deal damage
not disputing the premise of the video but you also used higher level wizards as the king level progressed which also played a crucial role in the results
I mean jeeze, do that and then follow it with a classic queen walk. He just cleared the outside, so then you get the queen to clear over the walls and support her with 4 or 5 healers which you put out similarly to the wizards. You could basically solo a base at that point. And run a heal spell or two, it would be gg for rushed people. I took a break from 2019 to now, but my god. That's nutty.
I don't know why some people refuse to upgrade him and call him useless. He is literally a Golem and a PEKKA mixed together with an ability. I cannot recall how many times my king destroys the enemy town hall on war while my Archer Queen is either hitting a wall or went the wrong way. I always upgrade my king after I upgraded my Queen by 5 levels.
If you don't have a high level barbarian king, your attacks will be brutally hard to get 3 stars against your equal level+ TH opponents. Your barbarian king is a tank, and can withstand a fully firing single target inferno tower blast for 10 seconds if not damaged. It provides protection for the queen and distracts the eagle artillery for a very long amount of time, not to mention the barbarian army it summons when maxed gets you a guaranteed 10% (with the king) unless they hit a super bomb. In other words, yes, it is totally worth upgrading!
I am upgrading all the Heroes at a time and rushing as soon as my Heroes are maxed,I don't play CWL so it's fun farming dark with some boosts constantly
During the early days (1st 2 years of coc) try a war with low level heroes. It was damn hard when opponent has higher level hero. We even had clan policy that no upgraded heroes no war for those players.
It's good to have a high level barbarian king when your archer queen is upgrading also barbarian king is very good at doing what he was made for which is tanking damage for the rest of your troops.
I have a clanmate who is a rushed th13. He has mostly TH11 buildings and walls but only a level 25 king. Surprisingly he's sitting comfortably in titan league using just edrag attacks. He only uses the King to clear out a few buildings before sending in his edrags. He usually gets 2 or 3 stars in war. That works for him. But for someone like me who watches Jo and videos of pro players, I'm learning to get more value out of my level 50 king at th11. The king can open up so many possibilities. He can clear out entire compartments before sending in your army including the townhall, he can tank for your siege machine if it has a long way to travel, he can absorb those eagle shots before it switches to your other troops. Even if all you use are e-drags, you can still use him to take out air defenses, sweepers, enemy queen, etc. He's definitely worth upgrading.
It's moreso the idea that the barbarian kings role isnt *as crucial* as other heros during an attack. Most raids end prematurely due to a weak queen walk or low warden ability. Kings are rarely used to do anything other than funnel an opening for the rest of your army, making their purpose be less level sensitive as the rest of your heros. While it definitely doesnt hurt to max every hero, you get more value putting your time into someone else until then imo
@@OMGoobero yeah they go hand in hand, sure without the wizards the bk may not have gotten as far, but the opposite is also true, even more so in fact. Those wizards would have destroyed like 2 buildings each then gotten sniped off by an archer tower or canon, wizards alone would certainly make it less far than the bk alone.
I have level 50 queen, level 14 warden and level 33 king. After maxing my queen for th11 i am going to upgrade my king because he makes a lot of difference on wars and attack.
I love the Barb king he really helps push the queen further into the base so long as I’ve funnelled correctly so even tho I sometimes think he’s not that useful I always upgrade him
I think people come up to that conclusion because they only look at the difference between the current king level and the next one (ex. Level 20 to level 21), but they dont realize that with enough levels he becomes a beast
So I can see you might upgrade him, but I think btwn the heroes he'd be low priority? I'd prob upgrade him after the others, I'm thinking. Also, if you have a couple/few healers follow him, he'd be a lot more effective?
I've been dedicating 2 of my builders to do up my warden and queen, warden was level 14 now it's 26, and Queen was lvl 30 but now it's 55. Working on my king now and my warden still because I think warden is one of the best champs

Which doesn't mean he's bad but upgrading heroes takes a lot of time and resources so people tend to rather invest them into the queen and later royal champion. So I think it's perfectly fine if your barbarian king is a bit under leveled. For example I cannot recommend staying th9 even through all your buildings are maxed just because your king isn't lvl 30 yet. Focus on your queen and when she's done use what's left over for your king but don't wait to upgrade th just because of him.

The king sure is important, but should never be your nr1 priority after TH8. The order should be Queen, Warden, RC, King.

I think the wizards levels also have to be factored into consideration, as the wizards will help the King clear obstacles in his way faster so he'll be moving out of range of certain defenses faster such as an xbow for example
When you went up in king level you also went up in wizard level which will make changes to the distance or whatever you’s wanna call it.
I usually like to max my queen and warden 1st while keeping king 5 levels lower than other heros
and then max king when my other heros are maxed out!

BK is rly useful in smash attacks, tanking, has an op ability and has one of the highest damage per hit. His upgrades also make a difference and sometimes when u upgrade him u might not need him sometimes so yes he is worth it
Not sure but I always see Barbarian King as just a beefed up meatshield that is like a barbarian, giant and pekka combined into one. It always gets killed first before the Queen but is there a performance difference if you build him into a higher level?

I definitely advice to upgrade the barbarian king! It can have a great impact on any attack. As others have been saying, it's basically a free pekka on drugs. However, I just want to criticize the comparison you did a bit. To compare the different levels you should've tried to play to the best of your ability with each of the king levels. I noticed that the lvl 13 was getting chunked by the multi inferno as he tried to get through the bomb tower instead of popping his ability there. He could've gotten further. Also there's a pretty big different between a lvl 5 wizard and a lvl 10 wizard, so the comparison would've been more reliable if no wizards were used. For a comparison to be accurateyou need to use the same parameters for all tests with the only difference being the level, even the placement of the wizards would affect the results. But overall nice video, I enjoyed the content thoroughly

Upgrading Barbarian King is very worth it. He is strong and also he gave so many benefits with the Archer Queen like for example he can tank for her so the Queen can deal damage
not disputing the premise of the video but you also used higher level wizards as the king level progressed which also played a crucial role in the results
I mean jeeze, do that and then follow it with a classic queen walk. He just cleared the outside, so then you get the queen to clear over the walls and support her with 4 or 5 healers which you put out similarly to the wizards. You could basically solo a base at that point. And run a heal spell or two, it would be gg for rushed people. I took a break from 2019 to now, but my god. That's nutty.
I don't know why some people refuse to upgrade him and call him useless. He is literally a Golem and a PEKKA mixed together with an ability. I cannot recall how many times my king destroys the enemy town hall on war while my Archer Queen is either hitting a wall or went the wrong way. I always upgrade my king after I upgraded my Queen by 5 levels.

If you don't have a high level barbarian king, your attacks will be brutally hard to get 3 stars against your equal level+ TH opponents. Your barbarian king is a tank, and can withstand a fully firing single target inferno tower blast for 10 seconds if not damaged. It provides protection for the queen and distracts the eagle artillery for a very long amount of time, not to mention the barbarian army it summons when maxed gets you a guaranteed 10% (with the king) unless they hit a super bomb.
In other words, yes, it is totally worth upgrading!

During the early days (1st 2 years of coc) try a war with low level heroes. It was damn hard when opponent has higher level hero. We even had clan policy that no upgraded heroes no war for those players.

It's good to have a high level barbarian king when your archer queen is upgrading also barbarian king is very good at doing what he was made for which is tanking damage for the rest of your troops.

I have a clanmate who is a rushed th13. He has mostly TH11 buildings and walls but only a level 25 king. Surprisingly he's sitting comfortably in titan league using just edrag attacks. He only uses the King to clear out a few buildings before sending in his edrags. He usually gets 2 or 3 stars in war. That works for him. But for someone like me who watches Jo and videos of pro players, I'm learning to get more value out of my level 50 king at th11. The king can open up so many possibilities. He can clear out entire compartments before sending in your army including the townhall, he can tank for your siege machine if it has a long way to travel, he can absorb those eagle shots before it switches to your other troops. Even if all you use are e-drags, you can still use him to take out air defenses, sweepers, enemy queen, etc. He's definitely worth upgrading.

It's moreso the idea that the barbarian kings role isnt *as crucial* as other heros during an attack.
Most raids end prematurely due to a weak queen walk or low warden ability. Kings are rarely used to do anything other than funnel an opening for the rest of your army, making their purpose be less level sensitive as the rest of your heros.
While it definitely doesnt hurt to max every hero, you get more value putting your time into someone else until then imo

@@OMGoobero yeah they go hand in hand, sure without the wizards the bk may not have gotten as far, but the opposite is also true, even more so in fact. Those wizards would have destroyed like 2 buildings each then gotten sniped off by an archer tower or canon, wizards alone would certainly make it less far than the bk alone.
I have level 50 queen, level 14 warden and level 33 king. After maxing my queen for th11 i am going to upgrade my king because he makes a lot of difference on wars and attack.
I noticed lvl 50 or below the king is just okay but once you get close to 60 or higher they become very effective.

I love the Barb king he really helps push the queen further into the base so long as I’ve funnelled correctly so even tho I sometimes think he’s not that useful I always upgrade him
I think people come up to that conclusion because they only look at the difference between the current king level and the next one (ex. Level 20 to level 21), but they dont realize that with enough levels he becomes a beast
So I can see you might upgrade him, but I think btwn the heroes he'd be low priority? I'd prob upgrade him after the others, I'm thinking. Also, if you have a couple/few healers follow him, he'd be a lot more effective?

I've been dedicating 2 of my builders to do up my warden and queen, warden was level 14 now it's 26, and Queen was lvl 30 but now it's 55. Working on my king now and my warden still because I think warden is one of the best champs

you can take heroes in attacks even when they are upgrading, just like how you are able to use units even they areupgrading in the lab, its annoying to wait 7 days just to use the barb king again.
