Good thoughts on managing feedback with in-the-box software equalization (the box being , in this case, your USB interface).
    Was that your Pyle microphone?

Shouldn’t there be automatic feedback kill ?

Automatic is great for novices. It's like throwing a big filter onto your mix that kills feedback and also wrecks your sound. I made this video for folks who want to do it themselves, understand how the XR18 can manage it, and preserve their tone as much as possible.

This feedback was an issue when I was trying to print to pro tools will this work for that?

    • @stevesrecordingtips7247

It depends. Normally, no, because you're supposed to be monitoring under headphones while recording live mics. Having speakers on to listen to what you're recording is not normal.
But, if you have this issue in some other circumstance, this method will not work, probably.

@@stevesrecordingtips7247 there are no live mics. I just have tracks from pro tools routed into the mixer software the printing them back into the DAW with the fx from the x air edit

Yeah that's not the type of feedback I addressed in this video. I addressed microphone feedback.
What you seem to have is called a feedback loop.
It's a problem some folks can experience.
So, most folks carefully monitor only what they need to hear.
Like, you can monitor the source, plus you can monitor the effects and you should be ok.
But, if you are sending the effects back into the XR as you listen, you'll get a feedback loop.
      I'd bet that's your issue.
So, you would not try to "fix" this with an EQ.
You need to set up your routing so you don't have this issue in the first place.
Everyone has a different setup, so I can't tell you how to do this.
But, if your signal is hitting your Daw, sending out to the XR, returning to your Daw, and sending it to the XR again, that's the loop I'm talking about.
There needs to be a distinct routing of what you want effected going to your XR, and a distinct return of the effected signal coming back into your Daw but Not sent back to the XR.
Solve that, and you'll have no more feedback.
