You have hit the ball out of the park with this video! It had all the best ingredients - superb locations, a storyline, good humour, really good camera work with clarity and colour, it was almost like being there. It is quite something that the people you met were happy to be interviewed, and you are very skilful at getting the best from them. Those interviews added so much to the story. Your work reminded me of the best that the Beeb used to produce (a long time ago when I watched it). So congratulations and I hope you can make some more of these documentaries. They deserve to have a very wide audience. Thank you.
I think this is one of the best videos you have done.Great drone footage, music, scenery and interviews are top notch, dont know why people still watch the crap on t.v. when this type of stuff is on youtube .Nice one Eddy and you have that drone well trained following you😉
We sadly encountered the previous owner of the pub who was not well-liked by the locals who boycotted the place. He refused to serve us a meal and drinks after a few days of hiking and camping over The Munros in the area. The guy who ran the food shack heard about our experience and kindly invited us into his home and cooked us all a meal. Fantastic people and good to see the pub returned to where it belongs. Great video of an amazing place.
i love and cherish the fact that we have places like this within our lands.. if i didn't have need of a wheelchair and a carer 3 times a day i'd live there in support of the villagers and love it even more.. thanks eddy.. much love xxc
I remember watching one a few years back where they walked there. They ended up being disappointed with the pub and didn't get a pint. Looks like a lot has changed since then, it's a great place to visit. Considering taking my saxophone. Another great informative video, thanks very much.
Thank you, Eddy. It was a small glimpse into a stunning location and a community spirit that I thought had disappeared. As a boy growing up in a very different part of the world in the late 50s and early 60s (Wallsend), we had precisely that. Everyone knew everyone else; times were more challenging but I cannot recall ever wanting for anything. Everyone mucked in. I miss it.
Eddy you seem to find these gems that not many people are aware of, doing a great job for your subscribers to highlight potential short breaks! keep it up!
Checking in from Guangzhou China. This is great. I'm glad you're going further afield and building a really captivating channel. Great choice aswell opting for the Northhumbrian pipes. Keep on keeping on Eddy.
My son and I were let down by the trains yesterday. Trying to get back up north! Oh well, doing it by road today. Another fab vid! [Hi Helen!! When are you starting your channel?!! 😉]
A superb piece and a joy to watch. The quality of the photography was amazing. Keep up the good work Eddie & don't sell out to the BBC when they come asking for your services 👍
Brilliant video Eddie, what a fantastic part of the world. You are right the community spirit there is something to be admired, great set of people. Thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks Eddie P.S loved the introduction, hope you enjoyed your 3 days of peace and quiet Helen 😂😂
I'm so glad to see this video. Since getting back from Newcastle I've got a nasty respiratory infection so not feeling great at the mo. There is a building round the corner from me called The Old Forge I dont think it was a pub though. Anyway awesome video and glad you had a good time.
@TynesideLife I now know why so many people in Newcastle wear north face it's cos it's baltic up there I was shivering at the match. I'm from a little village myself and inverie is heaven to me I love places like that away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of city life. You're so right community these days where I live I often go months without seeing or hearing from anyone people just don't seem to care anymore.
Love this Eddie. I was at Applecross & there is a very nice pub there also right on waters edge like this one. Helen’s ok , am sure I seen her coming out of Tesco yesterday 👍😀 Enjoy your trip. 🤍🖤👍
Looks absolutely beautiful. And the psychology benefits of living in that environment is something most folks won't understand.. I'd love to go there for a holiday. but i probably would never leave.. Great video, as always, thanks Eddy ❤
I went there about 10 years ago and did the 15 mile walk in from Kinloch Hourn . I did this trip as I’m pivoting away from football and mixing up my other Tyneside videos with the occasional travel video
I bet that pub gets more people in than all the pubs in Blyth put together haha. na seriously looks like a great few days and stunning shots on video well done bud
Hi Eddie An absolute superb video and a place I've long wanted to go to. I know it's very popular in the warmer months with hillwalking groups climbing the munro "Laddhar Bheinn". I'm sure you can also buy the "Old Forge" t-shirts and merchandise online. Definitely hav to pop up there now, thanks for showing us a beautiful part of the world !!
Thank you so much for this it brought me to tears the scenery alone and yes I know what you mean about community spirit, they have something very precious
So you're branching into comedy now Eddie? Excellent! 😂 Keep it up mate. Although when you got on the flixbus i could feel Geordie Stephenson turning in his grave.
Great video again eddie but youve left me confused. At the beginning of the video you said you cant reach it by car but a car drove past you near the end
You can’t reach the village by vehicle. The nearest access road is 15 miles away. There is of course a road/forest track that runs along the peninsula, through the tiny village about 1/2 mile long but it goes nowhere other than that. 👍🏻
Once again Eddy a very entertaining and professional video. Do you have a cameraman or are you a self shooter / editor. I notice from your footage you must have someone with you.
Great video, I’m sure I watched someone walking there on a video. I take it they are on the national grid for electrickery as generator power not be the best. Hope all the past Scottish and English history over the centuries has been forgotten about now. But will white settlers in the community ever be totally accepted ? You should have gone to the beach near mallaig that was where that film about an oil refinery used the location along with other parts of Scotland. Burt Lancaster had an appearance as the boss I think. 👍 Looked it up- Local Hero , which has a Geordie connection of course. 😊

Hi. Brilliant video. My Mam and Dad lived there for 19 years. I miss the visits there so much. I was wondering what made you go there ?
I went there about 10 years ago and did the 15 mile walk in from Kinloch Hourn .
I did this trip as I’m pivoting away from football and mixing up my other Tyneside videos with the occasional travel video
Great video Eddy
Special part of the world up there.
I sometimes pitch a tent on the beach at Arisaig - love it !

If you go, mention my name 👊🏻👍🏻
@TynesideLife will do Eddie !!
Thanx again for another great video .
@TynesideLife ❤️
First went to the Forge In 1952 and then in 1992 when i was fishing with a local and we sold the Landlord Crabs at £1 each which seemed cheap.
☝️👊🏻👍🏻
Some class editing on the ferry Ed
Cheers bud 👊🏻👍🏻
Another good one Eddy, I might be showing my ignorance but if you left Helen at home how does your Camera follow you when you're on the move?
Well, I use cameras with AI tracking and gimbal technology technology . Which includes a very clever drone
Absolutely terrible in 2024 this country’s railways are so unreliable. Great vid! 🖤🤍
Aye, somebody's gotta live there ! 😆
Aey, bit different to Wardley eh ? Excellent vlog Ed.
😂 cheers bud
Thank you so much for this it brought me to tears the scenery alone and yes I know what you mean about community spirit, they have something very precious
Glad you enjoyed it Tracy 😊
I assume if they wanna do a big weekly shop or visit the doctors or dentists or whatever they must have to make a visit to the nearest town
Can I just ask what your understanding is of how they get to the nearest town? 😅
All your videos make me hungry!!!!
😂
So you're branching into comedy now Eddie? Excellent! 😂 Keep it up mate. Although when you got on the flixbus i could feel Geordie Stephenson turning in his grave.
😅😂
Great video Eddie!
Beautiful place x
Looks great up there, really impressed with this episode, how was that local beer?
Cheers. Very nice 👌
Eddie are you covering the Sycamore Tree trial next week ?
I’ll be there 👍🏻
Great video again eddie but youve left me confused.
Awesome Celtic music.
👊🏻👍🏻
Just now discovered this video, which is a great path to be i.e. Northeast gems in addition to NUFC.
Starfish indeed lol😅
Once again Eddy a very entertaining and professional video. Do you have a cameraman or are you a self shooter / editor. I notice from your footage you must have someone with you.
Filmed completely on my own Peter. That’s AI gimbal technology and a drone for you 👊🏻👍🏻
@ I thought so. You are very good at what you do. Do you work in the TV industry.
@ cheers. Never mate, completely self taught
Great vlog thoroughly enjoyed it.Did you have someone helping to video ?
All done completely on my own 👊🏻👍🏻
Great video, I’m sure I watched someone walking there on a video.

Looked it up- Local Hero , which has a Geordie connection of course. 😊
They have their own hydroelectricity facility. I’m not sure what you mean about accepting white settlers in the community?
@ non locals moving there ! It’s a term used even in Northumberland, probably came from western movies back in the day !
and the selfish film crew had just left a scaffold construction on the shore of Loch Morar. Thank you so much and Please do not visit Scotland again.
@ hope the local builder made use of it.
Magical place
MAGIC❤. Thank you
👊🏻👍🏻
Great watch m8
👊🏻👍🏻
Get yourself to the old George in the toon as an alternative
Been there a lot. Done a video on it too. Life is about adventure 👊🏻👍🏻
@TynesideLife it was tongue in cheek
@ you need to use an emoji then 😅
@TynesideLife I'm a dead pan kind of guy, I've stayed in Glenfinnan in cottage last two summers the train track runs past the cottage
Tremendous 👍
Maybe no bears but the midges are savage
Oh aye in the summer. Had plenty battles with those pesky things
Did I hear the unmistakable clinking of glass in your wheeled luggage big Geordie? 😂
No that was a guy who chose the very moment for me to film to unload boxes of empty bottles, near me. Typical 😅🤪
@TynesideLife how unlucky 😂
I couldn't bare to watch the end of this video.
How come?
@@TynesideLife Paddington bear thats why haha roar!
😂
That was excellent, your tell of this but also their whole lifestyle and what they have achieved.🫶🐾❤️
