Fans perhaps, but Conan spent years honing his adaptability, where Pewdiepie had the advantage of being able to edit his gameplay ahead of time and being able to pick and choose what he thought should be included in the video.
Here he doesn't have that advantage.
I wouldn't say that it's because he's unfunny, he genuinely has SOME rare moments of hilarity. I would say that he's simply not used to a live studio, even with Conan's editing magic.

Felix has had almost seven years and has stated he isn't a professional comedian but tries his best to be entertaining. However, respect was there, and Felix adores Conan, so this must've been very nerve raking .

Because I know of other RUclipsrs with far more modest subscriber and view counts who are both funnier, more intelligent and more interesting to watch than PewDiePie is, by far. And that's just a simple truth for many people, I wager. It's not exactly hatred to point it out.
