im not one for remakes, but please someone remake this one!! saw this in 1972 at my grandpas house when I was 7 years old! scared the crap out of me back then
TECHNICALLY it is a Godzilla film since its the sequel to Frankenstein vs Giant Monster Baragon, thus connected to Destroy All Monsters in the Showa Era AND is also a film in the Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla 2002 timeline.
Best of all of the G flicks, the green one was just wicked..back in the days in NYC chiller theater or creature feature will run this late night and we watched it with the lights on
Notice that in the trailer, insteadof the Gargantua sounds we normally hear, the Brown Gargantua's roar is the one used for Baragon and the Green's roar is Rodan's!
its a great film, originally Godzilla not Baragon was supposed to fight the monster, but they realized that Godzilla would have dwarfed Frankenstein's monster. Funny they never thought about that for King Kong vs Godzilla haha.
They're only called Gargantuas in the U.S. dub. In Japan, they actually are called Frankensteins. The original Japanese title is Frankenstein Monsters: Sanda vs Gaira. They are genetic offspring of the previous film's Frank. It IS a direct sequel, just obsured here in the States.
it's a shame the Gargantua never got the same fame or noterity as Mothera Gamera Rodan Godzilla or even Ggiderha, that's say that they didn't get to appear in more movies like the others !
In the Japanese version that I have, Frankenstein is mentioned in "War of the Gargantuas". They make reference to Sanda and Gaira being genetically related to Frankenstein.
All the military suits ponder the situation: Why is it we cannot build a nice railroad and bridge set for our model town hobby with out some weirdo in a hairy get-up breaking in and messing around?
i have the japanese version on DVD and there are many interesting differences from the american dubbed version, including the fact the two monsters are referred to as FRANKENSTEINS,thus the link to Frankenstein Conquers The World.
I wish they still showed these monster films on American TV. I remember TBS and TNT would do a Japanese monster movie showcase every few months. Television is awful now.
@Shawnster65 Well its not a direct sequel, more so in spirit. Since the character Frankenstein is never mentioned, and instead the "Gargantua" is the replacement.
Does anyone know the name of the song that begins at 1:21? I really like the faster paced version of this than the one that was previously used in other Toho films
One of the best damn Toho monster fights ever!
Happy 50th Anniversary "WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS"!
Man these old trailers are great !! like watching a whole movie in a few minutes.
My all-time favorite daikaiju movie :)!
It is among the best!

I thought the exact same thing!
And have it star Brad Pitt.
Long lost classic by any means. I remember liking this movie a lot as a kid and haven't seen or heard of it since.

This movie is so awesome. One of the best of the giant monster movies of all time. I wish I was 7 again.
one of the best non-Godzilla movies as I like to call them
Jacob Snyder youre good
it's Frankenstein's Monsters; Sanda vs. Gaira

Loved this movie as a child.
50 yrs. ...Dang but I'm getting old!!! Happy anniversary, Sanda & Giara!!!!!
its a great film, originally Godzilla not Baragon was supposed to fight the monster, but they realized that Godzilla would have dwarfed Frankenstein's monster. Funny they never thought about that for King Kong vs Godzilla haha.

I'm surprise RUclips don't have the movie, I would love too see it again...Last time I saw it i was a kid 44 years ago.
I really liked this film highly underrated and overlooked this gets my recommendation.
Best of the 1960s kaiju movies.
And how is this tied with Frankenstein vs Baragon
THIS MOVIE NEEDS TO BE REMADE.......HELLO ROB ZOMBIE!!!!
And Brad Pitt to star.
Honestly all toho monsters should be in all godzilla movies in the future but of course with great storytelling
holy shit the green one sounded like antlar from ultraman and the orange one sounded like varan
Yeah, Toho often reused kaiju roars.

This looks amazing

Ahhh . . . Kumi Mizuno . . . I almost believe I'd fight those big muppets for her. CuffColl.
@carnage4907 Frankenstein is mentioned. The sailor that survived called Gaira, "Frankenstein".
I love this movie!,why is it not on bluray?
Russ Tamblyn needed a paying gig between "West Side Story" & "Cabin Boy".
On the DVD if you watch it with English subtitles instead of dubbed English a lot of the story and dialogue is quite different.
All the military suits ponder the situation: Why is it we cannot build a nice railroad and bridge set for our model town hobby with out some weirdo in a hairy get-up breaking in and messing around?
Didnt they remake this in 1993 starring Macaulay Culkin and Elijah Wood?
I see what you mean there. XD
oooooookay...where did that come from
Gappa vs. Gaira
Notice how Sanda has the Varan roar in the trailer but King Kong's roar in the actual film.
1;46 we need some of those in our military
i really wish they would make Godzilla vs the Gargantuas or just Godzilla vs Gaira
i have the japanese version on DVD and there are many interesting differences from the american dubbed version, including the fact the two monsters are referred to as FRANKENSTEINS,thus the link to Frankenstein Conquers The World.
It makes me happy as a fan of toho that Brad Pitt and Tim Burton like this film!
@DVROFFMAN When yer a Gargantua...yer a Gargantua all the way!!!
Yongary vs. Gaira
They were good
I wish they still showed these monster films on American TV. I remember TBS and TNT would do a Japanese monster movie showcase every few months. Television is awful now.
All I got to say is,King Kong would whip both of their asses.
Lol, yea I love the old Toho movies.
this is problably most creepy toho movie
Really??
@Shawnster65 Well its not a direct sequel, more so in spirit. Since the character Frankenstein is never mentioned, and instead the "Gargantua" is the replacement.
carnage4907 Frankenstein is mentioned in the Japanese version
@@Blorp52 you are very correct.
0:37 Any boy who watches the movie falls in love with her.
Does anyone know the name of the song that begins at 1:21? I really like the faster paced version of this than the one that was previously used in other Toho films
Godzilla Appears: King Kong VS Godzilla 1962
@carnage4907 It's like the German Dub of Godzilla.
I mean it he has the English version on the computer
1:23 king kong vs godzilla theme
sanda (the brown Gargantua) is an offspring of Frankenstein. look up Sanda on tohokingdom(.com) under monster bios
King Ghidorah's them and Rodan's them in there as well?
just a fucking EPIC movie
Yeah she was hot for the time, I liked her as Daiyo in Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster
Jekyll and Mister Hyde monster's version??
My dad has war of the gargantuas
I think the monsters from the pieces of the original frankenstein monster
Nah, one is an accidental clone of the other.
That song is the theme of king ghidorah
Sanda (the brown Gargantua) is an offspring of frankenstien!!! look it up!!! (also notice the bulgy foerhead)
No he isnt
iif i were to guess how tall a gargantua is i would say 80 feet?
Roughly. I think Gaira and Sanda are 30 and 25 metres tall.
Ha, what the Godzilla theme necessary? I know a Godzilla soundtrack when I hear one.
Gaira y Sanda
1:21 THIS TRAILER IS BAD! THIS MUSIC IS FROM KING KONG VS GODZILLA! IT DOESN'T FIT IN THIS SCENE!
AND ALSO, GAIRA HAS RODANS ROAR!
Godzilla vs
