Eversince I've been 3 or 4, I've been a fan of King Kong 1933 and eventually got into Godzilla (Yes WAY before 2014). I've loved these guys eversince I could talk. That moment where Godzilla and Kong ran together at the end of the trailer, I yelled THOSE ARE MY BOYS!
Hard to believe it’s already been a year since this came out. For me there’s nothing quite like the hype for a Godzilla & King Kong movie and been able to experience the excitement with all the other Monsterverse fans was incredible, looking forward to the next go around with these two icons.

its kind of incredible that Japan offers dark thought provoking movies like the original 1954 Gojira while legendary offers us goofy showa era wrestling matches back and forth year after year. it's a damn good time to be a Godzilla fan!
It's a good mix. Especially for people who prefer one kind over the other. Me, I'm really glad with the direction Legendary is going. It's badass, but also campy, and I love that. It's like a mix of the Millenium and Showa styles

Well, I know that that's all the Legendary Godzilla series. But I struggle to ever consider the 2014 film as the beginning, was going for 60 years before that. But yes it is awesome that Godzilla and Kong keep coming back and doing new things.
So a lot of people who aren’t familiar with the older Godzilla eras are gonna complain about these movies becoming more super hero in nature. It was said that this movie is gonna have some elements from the Showa Era of Godzilla, where the monsters have more human personalities. Honestly, I’m here for it.
Nah, I think Godzilla Minus One took the better route of not making him some ultruistic, good superherro but rather just a dangerous force of nature. I don't need a giant lizard with a moral compass.

Kong should get an Academy award for his performance in this movie. His story and behavior has always been very intriguing, tragic and full of emotions.
I loved this movie! The action scenes were brilliant, well done and gorgeous. The movie had lots of heart. The emotional scene at the end with the mother and daughter made me cry. Pretty good film

theyve been turned into pointless movie adventure monsters, all the art of godzilla 2014 and even Kong and KOTM is gone. this film looks like it's gonna be a tremendous flop.
The fact that Godzilla and King Kong are running together and that this is perfectly normal in a Godzilla movie goes to show how ridiculous the franchise gets. That’s what I love about Godzilla you have a base idea of him but anything can happen.
Finaly got to watch this movie and i had a blast with it. Its the best one so far out of the godzilla and kong movies, hoping the next installment is just as good!
1:00-I like how Kong actually gets into a fighting position and readies himself for combat. In GvK he either charged in blindly or let the enemy come to him.

I love the versatility of these movies. A godzilla film can simultaneously be a thought-provoking and chilling masterpiece, while another godzilla film can be a fun action film with bonkers monster fighting. either way, it works amazingly
To think we went through a 10 year Godzilla drought between Final Wars and 2014. Now we have Godzilla releases in tandem, Toho dropping Minus One with the serious tones and Monsterverse dropping those classic Showa tones. What a great time to be a G-fan.

Yeah, Im cool with Godzilla movies featuring well written humans. But whoever wrote Monsterverse clearly is better at writing the monsters and their lore
I dont know so much. Of the writing is only on the Monsters then every time humans appear i just feel bored and like its a waste of Screentime. Sure i like the writing style of the monsters being more like characters but some well writen humans sure wouldnt hurt it
On one hand, this trailer had perfect timing, given Minus One's American release. On the other, the dichotomy between the two films is hilarious. One is a dramatic masterpiece, and this looks like a mindless popcorn flick (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
I'll be honest, I did not expect Legendary to be the ones doing the goofy-fun Godzilla movies while Toho does the really serious, grounded ones, but I am totally here for both. I just wish they made it clear that was the direction they wanted to go since the first Monsterverse Godzilla was pretty good.

I love how the Monsterverse has evolved from grounded in reality, natural disaster and a humanitarian crisis in a world of giant monsters, to literal Showa-era Godzilla fun and goofiness and I love it !
Well personally I would of preferred it if they kept the Monsterverse grounded in reality. I've tried to watch the original Godzilla movies; they just don't appeal to me. The Godzilla vs Kong movie: I honestly didn't like it as much as the other two. I like it when they are treated like the monster like animals they are; not silly caricatures. And how their actions affect humanity and vice versa. Not just stomping around destroying buildings and fighting.

What started as a metaphor for nuclear weapons can only go so far. eventually it becomes the big monster fighting another big monster. And of course once you start having new gigantic creatures showing up out of no where you kinda have to turn into the silly skid at that point. no this does look terrible. but I'm still going to enjoy it. how could I not. I already had to rewind to see godzilla and kong do the buddy cop run from the explosion bit. This might actually be the first AI written movie for all I know. but at least they embraced the camp so good for them.

There's literally a tag team movie where Ghidorah and Gigan go against Godzilla and Gamera ( A monster that was undergoing standing up to bullying) they had subtitles for the monsters in that movie. There is also many more where he is having a showboat hop. If anything, monsterverse is sticking to the original source material as a fan

Godzilla’s continuous roar always gives me goosebumps. The longer it is and the louder it gets, the more you realize he’s something else entirely. I hope to see it in this film.
I kind of love the Godzilla evolution. It’s like every main weakness he had against mechagodzilla has been fixed. He now seemingly has much more agility and speed, longer and stronger arms for better brawling combat, and a much more potent base atomic breath. I still don’t know how anything can ever top his nuclear aura from King of the Monsters, but we’ll see.
Agree with everything but the speed. It's a giant monster, it should be slow. You speed something that size up and it loses all sense of weight and therefore scale. Pacific rim 2 is the biggest offender
@@dylanburston7453 In my head canon, they're fast from the monsters' perspective but they're slow from humans' perspective. There are times in Godzilla vs. Kong where they moved slow because it was a perspective from humans, but move incredibly fast when it's focused on them (for example, when Godzilla and Kong fought for the first time, they were movie slow because there were humans around, but they move fast on the second and third round because it's focus on them with no human intervention). There are probably moments where Godzilla and Kong will move slow in the new movie.

Just because your big does not constitute being slow and sluggish. If that was the case my 6 foot 3 360 pound but would be a snail. But I surprise people all the time. By how quick and agile I am for my size. That stigmatized behavior needs to go away.
I hope they can still make them look big. I feel as we are progressing monsterverse, there size is visually normalising, there size is comprehansble/matching compared to environment. Like when they run that's cool, but imagine if they can choreograph the scene in a way that they actually look massive in size (by eg ,maybe giving human size reference point ) while running with there massive bodies at incredible speed

I can't tell if the Purple Godzilla is a Shin, or a Millennium reference. The spines look like a Millennium reference, so as somebody who LOVES that design, I am absolutely there for it.
Has anyone noticed that Godzilla’s body shape changed into something that looks like Mechagodzilla? Slightly longer arms, slimmer build? He also seems faster and more agile too. It makes me wonder if he evolved this way as a result of his battle with the Mecha in Godzilla vs Kong, so now he’s more prepared to fight something like him.
I hope the film lives up to expectations, with a more substantial focus on Godzilla and Kong. It would be preferable if their interactions aren't limited to a brief duration, and the storyline avoids incorporating implausible scenarios, such as a teenager infiltrating a high-security facility, which could detract from the overall quality of the film.
Don’t expect them to have a conversation about the current state of the world. Those are 2 different species and it would be ridiculous if they had a long interaction

This is sick cause there’s a Godzilla movie for everybody. If you like good writing, drama you got minus one and if you like stupid big dumb awesome monster fights you got the American Godzilla. Hope this movie makes my brain do a happy.
I'm really hoping that Godzilla only runs like that during the big final fight because he's like supercharged and eager to fight due to his pink glow. Hopefully during most of the film he'll move like how he normally does.
I agree. I think they a really need to be careful because to an extent they could start making him look silly like when he used to do the flying drop kick. He comes off far more menacing when he slows down. It kind of looked like a live action anime scene with him and Kong running like that.
They should take a page out of gamera: rebirth and how gamera moves (obviously minus the flying) like slow most of the time but capable of moving fast if needed
Godzilla’s new design is very interesting. While of course his eyes, dorsal plates and atomic breath have drastically changed color, his body is seemingly a lot more slender as well, allowing to to run seemingly as fast as kong in the last scene.
My headcanon is since he almost died to a faster MechaG with his agility he underwent a sort of self accelerated evolution hence him being more slender. If you look closely he looks a lot like Mecha now
its kinda weird seeing godzilla and kong appear so "small" they are not small though its the environment that makes them look like that, they literally take place in a world of giants and their sizes blend in perfectly, you dont have human cities to get a perspective of how big they are its not bad at all i actually like it, its like seeing a big whale in the open ocean, you dont have anything familiar to you to compare it with to get how giant it is
It's not just the environment though. Their animations make them looks barely bigger than us. Look at their movements, the roar of Scar King, Kong and Godzilla running... they look barely bigger than us

Man, people really mad, annoyed and angry over a color and some other stuff, just accept that this is permanent form, and unless godzilla returns to the original power source which will probably not be as good as the pink source or he feeds off another energy source, he wont get his blue color.
"There was a war, and they're the last ones standing." So Godzilla could very well be the last of his kind, the species that lost. Kong's species survived, and I like how they made them look more orangutan than gorilla like Kong. It feels like they're a subspecies that branched off of Kong's, more of a gigantopithecus appearance. I'm actually digging it.
You know, the Monsterverse is one of the few movie franchises that the creators still seem to care about as much as the fans. I'm SO excited for this. I always have a great time in the theater when one of these comes out. WHY CAN'T IT BE 2024 YET!!

Not gonna lie this looks sick but I feel like the sense of scale has gone away from what it was in previous movies. Like I feel king of the monsters got it best where it still had that sense of scale but also didn't make them typically slow.

On one hand, this trailer had perfect timing, given Minus One's American release. On the other, the dichotomy between the two films is hilarious. One is a dramatic masterpiece, and this looks like a mindless popcorn flick (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

It used to be WAY opposite years back, where we were convinced in 2014 that legendary is dark and toho is silly, oh how the tables have turned.
I love how the Monsterverse has evolved from grounded in reality, natural disaster and a humanitarian crisis in a world of giant monsters, to literal Showa-era Godzilla fun and goofiness and I love it !
Well personally I would of preferred it if they kept the Monsterverse grounded in reality. I've tried to watch the original Godzilla movies; they just don't appeal to me. The Godzilla vs Kong movie: I honestly didn't like it as much as the other two.
I like it when they are treated like the monster like animals they are; not silly caricatures. And how their actions affect humanity and vice versa. Not just stomping around destroying buildings and fighting.

What started as a metaphor for nuclear weapons can only go so far. eventually it becomes the big monster fighting another big monster. The old school godzilla movies were actually like that. There's literally a tag team movie where Ghidorah and Gigan go against Godzilla and Gamera ( A monster that was undergoing standing up to bullying) they had subtitles for the monsters in that movie.
There is also many more where he is having a showboat hop. If anything, monsterverse is sticking to the original source material as a fan

I kind of love the Godzilla evolution. It’s like every main weakness he had against mechagodzilla has been fixed. He now seemingly has much more agility and speed, longer and stronger arms for better brawling combat, and a much more potent base atomic breath. I still don’t know how anything can ever top his nuclear aura from King of the Monsters, but we’ll see.

In my head canon, they're fast from the monsters' perspective but they're slow from humans' perspective.
There are times in Godzilla vs. Kong where they moved slow because it was a perspective from humans, but move incredibly fast when it's focused on them (for example, when Godzilla and Kong fought for the first time, they were movie slow because there were humans around, but they move fast on the second and third round because it's focus on them with no human intervention).
There are probably moments where Godzilla and Kong will move slow in the new movie.

I hope they can still make them look big. I feel as we are progressing monsterverse, there size is visually normalising, there size is comprehansble/matching compared to environment. Like when they run that's cool, but imagine if they can choreograph the scene in a way that they actually look massive in size (by eg ,maybe giving human size reference point ) while running with there massive bodies at incredible speed

I hope the film lives up to expectations, with a more substantial focus on Godzilla and Kong. It would be preferable if their interactions aren't limited to a brief duration, and the storyline avoids incorporating implausible scenarios, such as a teenager infiltrating a high-security facility, which could detract from the overall quality of the film.
Don’t expect them to have a conversation about the current state of the world. Those are 2 different species and it would be ridiculous if they had a long interaction

Godzilla’s new design is very interesting. While of course his eyes, dorsal plates and atomic breath have drastically changed color, his body is seemingly a lot more slender as well, allowing to to run seemingly as fast as kong in the last scene.
My headcanon is since he almost died to a faster MechaG with his agility he underwent a sort of self accelerated evolution hence him being more slender. If you look closely he looks a lot like Mecha now

its kinda weird seeing godzilla and kong appear so "small"
they are not small though its the environment that makes them look like that, they literally take place in a world of giants and their sizes blend in perfectly, you dont have human cities to get a perspective of how big they are
its not bad at all i actually like it, its like seeing a big whale in the open ocean, you dont have anything familiar to you to compare it with to get how giant it is
It's not just the environment though. Their animations make them looks barely bigger than us. Look at their movements, the roar of Scar King, Kong and Godzilla running... they look barely bigger than us

Godzilla woke with that form and that pink energy and thats how its gonna be, he cant just change it and power boostdont start like that, like bro, look at 2014, 2019 and 2021 godzilla, they have blue energy and Im making a theory, look at the hollow earth energy, its blue, Godzilla has probably been feeding off that energy but after 2021, he theoretically started feeding off an alternative energy source which was certainly better and “pink” which gave him that pink color but also look at the tribe scene in the trailer, there was pink hues.
Man, people really mad, annoyed and angry over a color and some other stuff, just accept that this is permanent form, and unless godzilla returns to the original power source which will probably not be as good as the pink source or he feeds off another energy source, he wont get his blue color.

"There was a war, and they're the last ones standing." So Godzilla could very well be the last of his kind, the species that lost. Kong's species survived, and I like how they made them look more orangutan than gorilla like Kong. It feels like they're a subspecies that branched off of Kong's, more of a gigantopithecus appearance. I'm actually digging it.

You know, the Monsterverse is one of the few movie franchises that the creators still seem to care about as much as the fans. I'm SO excited for this. I always have a great time in the theater when one of these comes out. WHY CAN'T IT BE 2024 YET!!

😩 same I have been watching these movies since I was little and still can’t get enough of them these are classics in the making and I’m here for it ALL OF IT 45 years of loving these movies and still do
We seen today. And I realized, I'm also never gonna stop watching movies with either one of them, let alone together!!
As long as they continue to show the monsters, and not hide them behind weather, while having the humans hog most of the screen time,

Not gonna lie this looks sick but I feel like the sense of scale has gone away from what it was in previous movies. Like I feel king of the monsters got it best where it still had that sense of scale but also didn't make them typically slow.
