Got one a year ago...love it. Have a grapple as well...love it. But on the backhoe I kept forgetting to remove the pins. Snapped off that top one couple times...my fault. So I put a chain with a clip on them and clip it to my levers so in order to use, I have to pull the pins. Works every time. Yep that lever under seat needs a saw took to it...other than that it great fun to operate and a pleasure to see what you have done when the job is completed. Oh and don't loan out or your repair bill might be big when they put gas in the diesel tank. LOL
Hey David- the fuel thing… lockable fuel transfer tank bolted to truck or pallet. RK sells manual operated lever pumps that are rebuildable and half the cost of electric. They operate / pump both pull and push, and will do 1/4 or 1/2 gallon per stroke. You’ll also need enuf 2” piping for a 7’ riser- combination of galvanized and pvc. That riser allows fuel vapor to vent away from ground level people and keeps you in compliance with regulations. I put a U at the top of the riser to keep rain out, and added screen held by band clamp to keep birds bugs and sticks out. No electricity required. When fueling, turn tractor key to accessory / run without starting it, and you can pump at your leisure while watching the fuel guage rise. Wayyyyy less aggrevating than 5gal jug fueling. If truck mount, easy to drive to get more fuel. If pallet mount, fairly easy to move as needed with pallet fork. Don’t forget to ground the tank either way. I grounded to mounting bolts with about a foot of wire, to a sharpened piece of rebar that i can push into the ground wherever i drop it. Hope that helps bud. If ya go the pallet route, set it on top of a 2nd pallet so your tank mounted pallet doesn’t ground rot.
Side note- i think RK also sells a rotary manuel fuel transfer pump. And you could probably attach a hose to the end of that. Have never used one of those, but would imagine you might have fuel left in the hose when done filling and would have to find a way to deal with that… probably with a cup. I went the lever pump route because it came with a nice long hose and a place to stow it vertically while protecting the nozzle from rain.

@@davidadowlen the whole point of getting a tractor is to set it up your way if it became an issue it would only void the loader warranty I can deal with that approximately 6 inches from each side of the loafer bucket is where I welded them right next to the reinforcement

Good video dude. Couple of tips. Bolt on hooks on top of bucket (amazon). You can just drill through the top rail to install or weld them on. Cut off some of the hydraulic handle under the seat ( I am doing this soon) and put the cap back on the shorter rod. I also added a LED light bar for night work and a nasty tooth bar on my bucket which makes the bucket far more useful. Great little unit. I have the backhoe as well as a few other attachments and so far so good.
I love weld on hooks great when using a chain but I prefer them on the outside ends of my brushguard and a pair of drings on the top for straps. Of course I don't know where you can buy the guard. Put a 2" recover low in the center and cut some holes where the headlights could shine with enough slits that I can see what's going on in the ducket.keep the slits you cut out to run vertical behind the slits and light holes to give it extra strength.
Oh forgot to tell don't leave it a rectangle cut a triangle out of the flat part on each end so you can fold the top bar dow and weld the to the bottom rail. Makes it look store bought. The bottom rail needs to be long enough to cover your quick attach and the top has to be just a little longer so it will reach. Like a rafter on a house it will depend on the metal you make it from.
Hey, I have a farm as well, born and raised on it, with 5 tractors. Here is my response to your breaks. The bucket by itself can do the same as the locking break. You will automatically pick it up always before moving. Barry

Been using the rk25 for about 70 hrs now , it is a powerful machine , I love it , I always look for pros and cons and don’t see many but I do have some things I’m not happy with , first off , it needs a step , it is hard to get on and off mainly when you use the backhoe because the reach is not far so you have to keep moving the machine witch brings me to my second problem…the backhoe bolts that hold it to the backhoe frame are constantly coming loose I think the two parts of the backhoe frame and backhoe mount should be welded. Other than that I do love the machine and the loader has no issues so far and lifts anything I need to….I do wish I had a grapple though

They do make one a size smaller but man I’m telling you it has saved me thousands. Quick story … I literally had it about a week when I had a underground water connection break. I was able to dig down the two feet with the back hoe and repaired it myself. Can you imagine me having to pay someone to do that? I think I spent 20$ in materials
Hello there. I actually have an RK24 which I love. The RK25 was being introduced at the time I was choosing between subcompact tractors. Based on your video and property size and stuff you seem to be moving all over the place, maybe an RK37 might have been better for you? I understand - moot point now. Anyway, hope you enjoy using your tractor!
Considering this machine with the belly mower for our property in Vinton county Ohio, how do you like it on hill country? I have a Kubota L47 TLB also, a smaller machine would be nice but really need a mower Btw, the battery powered pumps are awesome for fuel transfer!
Personally I don’t have much info about the mower deck for it as I opted for the back hoe instead. I also think it would be a tad to slow for me as my grass cutting takes me 7 hours. I like speed with my cutting and it seems a tractor would be too big and cumbersome. As far as hills I think it’s fine even with the weight of the back hoe on it. I will look into the pump also thanks
I have the backhoe too. One thing about mine the swing left and right goes to max point and will not swing back without bumping back and forth. Is there a way to adjust it to reduce the max swing? On the brake issue…all they need to do is put a light in the instrument panel showing the brakes are on! I have the same problem!
Appreciate your comment. No I am not aware of a way to adjust that swing. Mine doesn’t do that. If you take it in for your first service I’d have them check it
My local RK had a heck of a time getting a 3rd function valve. Paid and waited 7 long months. That’s a long time to me, so i called 2 different TYM dealers and asked about 3rd function valves for their TYM T25 tractor (same tractor really). In both cases, once they knew i planned to put it on an RK25 the TYM guys never called back. Not a great way to treat a potential new customer. I got my money back from RK after that 7 months. Had custom hydro lines made up by a john deere dealer to run to rear remotes. That cost about the same as the 3rd function valve, and operated flawless with that underseat lever. The drawback is that you can’t have the backhoe attached while using the grapple or a hydro snow plow that way, because the backhoe is stupid heavy and you would have to unplug it from the rear remotes and let it dangle. I expect that would pressurize those backhoe hydro hoses so much you would never be able to reconnect them. About 6 months later i called RK back, and they got the 3rd function valve for me in 2 days. Have not installed it yet, but i plan to real soon, and will leave my custom workaround in place so that i have redundant options up front. I almost like the idea of being able to leave that underseat lever in a “close the grapple” position if i was ever gonna do something foolish with it. As in “grabby grabby” rather than “holdy holdy”. Ya know… in case you have to fight a pack of zombie coyotes with yer tractor…
I was at Rural King couple days ago looking at these RK tractors, I was wanting to see this RK25 version but all they had were RK24 and 5-6 RK37 on the lot. I am wondering if this RK25 is about the size of the RK24 or is it larger, is it about the size of the RK37 or little smaller..
@@jesseskaggs9480 paying it off is based on how the financing is set up and how much you put down and or pay extra on it. I really can’t answer that one. The loader works just fine but it is a bit different than a skid steer as a skid steer can do much more movement wise

Smaller than the 37 bigger than the 24
@@davidadowlen Ok thanks a lot
Your bucket now has a happy face my bucket has a frown face I bent mine simply by back dragging
Wow back dragging? Crazy.
Does the loader work regardless of what position the hydraulic lever under the seat is in
Yes
How long does it take to pay it off if I just get it with just the loader only and how worthy are they and will the do what a skid steer can do?
@@jesseskaggs9480 paying it off is based on how the financing is set up and how much you put down and or pay extra on it. I really can’t answer that one. The loader works just fine but it is a bit different than a skid steer as a skid steer can do much more movement wise
Nice tractor
Thank you. Are you cconsidering getting one?
@@davidadowlen I’ve already got a tractor that I bought in September of 21. I enjoy watching other tractor owners videos and reviews of their machines.
@@sizemorec1 ahhh gotcha. What did you get? Lot of choices out there.
@@sufficientgraceministries I’ve got a kubota dealer about 3 miles from my house here in Georgia so I went with a kubota l4060 they have been good to deal with I did not get a backhoe wish now I would have.
@@sizemorec1 I understand. Kubotas are nice machines
The handle under the seat, refab cut some off.
@@Zimflash1 I did
I'd cut the lever down and put the rubber grip back on.
Actually just did. The rubber tip is a different size bit much better shorter now
We need to talk. I have 50 years experience with equipment. Riding my second rk 25. Can help you with a lot of problems you haven't had yet. Let me know if I can help
I definitely will and appreciate the help.
Would you happen to know about the RK 24?
@@JPLawnsMore I know zero about that machine
@@davidadowlen LOL I was asking the guy with 50 years experience. I took my backhoe off to use the box blade and now the tractor wants to bog down under a normally easy load.
@@JPLawnsMore so sorry
Please be careful when you lift something tall like your bird house it can very easily tip over backwards onto you
Thank you sir
Buy a 12 pump from Harbor Fraight
Heavy equipment operation requires attention.. here’s a tip for you.. don’t put hands or feet into spinning blades
Wow that was sooo profound
the hydraulic stick, just cut it down with a hack saw
that front right tire at 10.49 lok like its on backwards fyi (hopefully already resolved) realizing this is an older video :)
@@bowstobourbon yes I ended up doing that. Thanks.
@@davidadowlen awesome!!!!
After 2 years owning it, DON'T BUY this tractor.... Get a different brand that has REAL sorta-LOCAL support and Parts... If you live far from rural king that sells tractors, simply forget about this tractor exists
Thanks Mark for your comment and opinion. I love mine however there is some truth in what you're saying about living close to Rural King. Be blessed my brotha!
You should have bought a bulldozer
Good video thanks
Welcome
Or maybe when you hit the pedal to move it cuts off the brakes 😮
Yeah that would be a great idea 💡
Get a bungy cord and tie it off
Tie off what? The hydraulic lever?
