On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

At BVR, I’d say they are pretty equal.
@@ViewlessSquid if anything, at bvr. The f-35s have an advantage. The information sharing between all the f-35s is super valuable
1v1 tho there is not advantage from information sharing in which the f-22 would have the advantage given the better airframe + speed

The best way to simulate the F-35 cockpit is to basically have a transparent "ghost cockpit." It would simulate the avionics of the helmet perfectly that way, since the helmet is designed to allow the pilot to see "through" the aircraft.

Everyone can pick on Fat Amy, but when you see the things it can do in the air - and it’s probably still restricted maneuvers at an air show - it’s truly an amazing aircraft.

I absolutely love to see you two "idiots" flying together again! I was watching a British documentary on the nickname the British pilots have for Fat Amy and they call it the Battle Penguin. I can't get that out of my head every time I see the F-35 now!
As a frequent airshow spectator, I’m very surprised by the F35 demo. A lot of people talk about the F35 and it’s lacking in the maneuverability department. However, of all the demos, the F35 actually has the most impressive high alpha slow speed pass. It gets the nose way up there. As for the other maneuvers, it seems average among the best aircraft. Just an observation.
Pre Block 3 werent maneuverable. But after Block 3, they become what they are: High AoA fightet with some energy - best world of the F-18 & F-16 in combination of VLO and a super conputer.
It's a loud bastard too.

I saw a F-35A fly over my house once, I could just see the detail on the bottom of it and it was crazy loud, heard it for at least 5 minutes after it flew away!
The F-35s surprised me in both fights, really. I fully expected maybe some close calls but for the Raptors to come out victorious, but the Lightnings did a bit better this time out, 2-0 vs 1-2.
The F-35 is a much better aircraft than originally suggested.

Raptor still doesnt even have helmet cueing which 4th gen jets have had for decades. Its a huuuuuge disadvantage. Its crazy, but supposedly it should be getting it soon. Doesnt have irst either but will in a few years externally.

@@dreaminknighthigh AoA can’t be high energy at the same time unless you consider high AoA like 10-20 degrees. The F-35 like any other plane becomes a speedbrake when it pulls AoA.. this is not new stuff guys.

@@mikeyplayzwrld You're completely disregarding the sheer power of its engine. The F135 engine has the fastest spool-up time of any jet aircraft engine in the world. Tl;dr its equivalent of a 0-60 rating is INSANE. It can pull its nose and then regain energy extremely fast.

We have an F-35 squadron in my city. What you don't see like you did with the previous F-16 unit are the F-35s flying as a close pair. Usually you just see and/or hear one at a time.

Crazy thing that the f35 has so many features that aren't modeled here. It has an external ecm module that it drags behind it that has three different types of counter-measures

DAS the F35 implement all its goodies already as telling Patriots where the enemy is, brutal passive sensors, over the shoulder shots, data fusion and such or is just a F-16 or some other plane with some very low RCS skin?
Probably the latter. DCS mods usually dont go that deep into avionic design.
It’s an F-15 with low RCS skin. That’s what GS doesn’t fly it.

Ive seen the f35 multiple times at a airshow that comes every year. The demo us better then the blue Angels, who headlined the airshow. Sometimes both these jets are there. Spectacular thing to see.

Ive seen many request for you to fly fat amy and since the DCS F35 isnt properly modeled yet you should give the vtol vr one a try, it has a fully functional TSD screen, DAS, EOTS, can guide missiles through datalink, dynamic rcs, fully helmet mounted hud, etc.

Great video, it seems as tho the 2 best stealth fighters in the world are hard to kill. So that means any Enemy shouldn't ever have a chance at shooting one down, as long as it has a good pilot like yourself flying it.
