- Retro fitting a quick attach plate for skid steer type attachments to my old JD Crawler loader. When I started this endeavor it was April 2020, It is now November and the debacle is finally functional. Alot of other things have happened to pull me from this project. (injection pump, fire fighting, dealing with family members in other states.......
This is a Haugen grapple and is the larger of the skid steer type grapples, This one measures about 78" across. Adding the auxiliary hydraulics and the quick attach plate opens up a world of possibilities for this older machine.
Thanks for watching.
Catch you next time here at Rough Cut Ranch
Excellent! Enjoy it.
I always said it and this proves it. A track loader with a quick coupler will be the most versatile machine on the job site. If he had a Backhoe for this machine, there is no job this rig couldn't do.
Beautiful country up there brother, thanks for the vidja.
Nice work man, always good to see old iron getting updates.
Thank you for another AWESOME video hopefully we get to see your 5ton doing some winter recovery this winter.
Was that close encounters mountain off in the distance?
Yes it is
sweet build, looking forward to more vids. stay safe out there man
Good Choice on the music love the ole violin. God bless ..
Man-0-Man You're So Lucky to live there where you are......IT's Beautyful❕❕ I Love your video's and the music you put in them🎵🎶🎼 just awesome.....Not counting the Content you have in 'em. Merry Christmas to You & Your Family❕👍
Hey Man , this is good stuff , Thank you very much . I just bought a 450C and I hope to do some cool stuff with that too .
I want to do the same when I buy one. I was thinking about having the quick connect just outside valve housing. Be able to swap between front and rear auxiliaries. Pull a trailing style box blade with its own hydraulic lifts. Rip and level! Good video
I really enjoy your content
Thanks for the fittings lesson. Publish way less content per episode; but way more often. Shorter topics; like prepping deer entrails for Panzer chow.
I wanted to edit more out to keep it short and sweet but my PC and the video editing software were not getting along,. So after 6 hrs of fighting freeze ups, crashes and restarts I said the heck with it and sent it up to youtube.
Love making the videos, but loath the time behind the PC. Got a backlog of stuff to get clipped and posted
Awesome video
Can u do a better video on your quick attach on the track loader
Wish I could. I'm glad to answer whatever you may need, but I sold that 450 to a guy in MT a little over a year ago. Would have cost me half of what I bought it for to haul it down here so we sold it and wrongfully invested the $ from it and the crane truck in this cursed bobcat T250
I'm working on restoring a case dozer on my channel. Good video.
that is the devil's tower rock thing from close encounters, right ???
beautiful place to live, but man there's hardly any trees out there .
very nice and useful machine you've assembled there.
That a 450 c model
Yup 450c
Have you guys been getting snowed on out your way yet?
Dusting a few weeks ago, Thus Im frantically trying to get anything I can done while this nice weather holds
Contemplating a 455g with 9300 backhoe. I see a grapple as a tremendous value to the track loader. I'm not skilled with metal work. In retrospect, do you see an easier way now that would allow you to easily interchange between your grapple and standard bucket or 4 way? Thanks. Great content.
I chose to build the quick attach plate out of 1/2" as the brute force of the dozer would soon destroy and premade plate on the market. This proved to be strong, but costly and time consuming. There are companies who have some options for retro fitting older loaders to quick attach as a friend of mine did it to his 455 Ford loader. In hindsight I might would have looked into a quick attach system like what is found on a CAT IT28 or 936 loader where the attachment has a hook on top and pin holes on the bottom. Where you tilt forward with the loader, hook the top and curl back to rest then hit an air or hydraulic switch to close the lower pins. This type of system would have been very expensive but would have saved me tremendous hours of fighting line up and beating frozen pins into frosty holes while loosing set bolts in the snow
Great video. If you were in Pennsylvania I’d ask you to come help me with my 2010.
Subscribed Awesome combination. We have a 450c on our farm. We have had it since 1990 it’s been great. 👀@hour chanlllll
