Andrew is awesome and i admire him a great deal, he has a great work ethic, raised right, never takes anything or anyone for granted and always there if and when you need him or ask him for help. Sure the guys he grew up with and still his close friends can attest to that. Road looks great Andrew, I know you been after that for a while, and glad that you finally got a piece that can do the job... Inspector Cody seems to approve as well:-)_

    Andrew,
I think that you have arrived at the point where you might want to consider purchasing a rock crusher to make your own gravel for your own use and for sale. You have reclaimed so much of the cliff and use the tailings to create new level areas a rock crusher would be the ideal partner in your land development. Just a humble suggestion from an old man.
You remind me of when I was young. Have fun and do what makes you happy this life goes a lot quicker than it should.

The tough part often is that "If I had [this equipment] for [that job] how much easier/faster/more efficient it would have been."
At least until you start thinking it through and remember just what you own that will pull a 30t trailer.

Make sure you grease the lower bucket pins more frequently, and the two pins that are along the track, about every 5 hours. They will last a long time if you do. Don't forget the zerks on the throttle and the u-joint that connects the engine to the tranny. That u-joint is not fun to replace! Nice purchase!

Andrew you remind me of me in the 60's, you buy equipment for a small percentage of it's M.S.R., do the repairs it needs and then use it. If things happen you can recover all your cost and often more. In the early 60's I bought a Bucyrus Erie 550 swing hoe, paid $3,000. including delivery, I was ribbed by all my friends and they went out an bought 7 or 8 thousand dollar toys, twelve years later I sold it for $6.000., just about what I had in it with repairs, they were on their third or forth toy that now cost 10 or 12 thousand and none of their trade in's were ever worth more than 20% of what they payed. To be fair they never had to spend three weekends building a corduroy road to get out of the swamp.
