Badass! Was lucky enough to see J.E. Lee on the Ultimate Sin tour with Ozzy then on this tour two years later with Badlands(think they were touring with Whitesnake)Jake is an amazing guitarist.
The song starts at circa 3:12 :) EARGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT TO HAVE BADLANDS'S FIRST ALBUM!!! I guess this band was the new Led Zeppelin. R.I.P Ray Gillen :(
Kick-ass CORD WHIP at 05:25 BL was so tight for this show.....FUCK.....rip....Ray....rip This was the 2nd coming of a Zeppelin type band, and poof....gone Ill toast Ray and Jake tonight at my local pub..yeah
@theausdog Hell yes!!! Ray Gillen had an amazing, incredible voice and I love this band. Too bad it is so hard to find their music. They really need to re-release the first two albums. It's a shame you can't buy this at a Best Buy or even online without buying used for $30 a CD
Heavy heavy hitters! Almost too much talent for one band......truly a musician's band. Average folks just didn't get it I don't think. This band was a decade too late to hit their true potential for selling records. Ray was the real deal, Jake was a phenom, Eric Singer was a MONSTER on the kit, and Greg was a 60's style bass player, he could have played behind Hendrix. The second album had a cover of James Taylor's Fire and Rain that made your neck hair stand up!
RIP Ray Gillian!!!... damn that guy had sum badass vocals!!!..as for Jake's guitar skills?... fuckin incredible!! Bassist kills it as well!!(forgot his name). Sorry
@@jamesschaidt1096 Ray Gillen did sing for Black Sabbath, check out their live performances in 1986. And he sang the entire demo of Eternal Idol, it's available. He was in Black Sabbath at the time between Glenn Hughes and Tony Martin.
@@livingbeing1113 I call major 🐂 shit on that...I have found zero proof of this...back your bullshit up on this and send me recorded proof, Ozzy, lol. 🐂🐂🐂🤣🤣🤣
When he plays it live the intro is really Zakk-like - though I know Zakk played more Jake-like and only got better playing Jakes and Randy's (and lest we forget Tony') stuff. Gillen certainly never got his due, and live he was incredible - no autotune, no tricks, nothing. Feel bad I never saw these guys.
Jake kinda looked like Jeff Labar back then. Could have passed as brothers. I think Jeff Labar's fro was bigger though. Pretty sure he kept spare picks and strings up in it.
That's an awesome gig! Was this filmed for TV because it looks like it has been professionally shot? What was the running order of the setlist? Thanks.
Yeah, he must have. Anyway Ray was a great singer. He was great for Sabbath, the best singer Sabbath had after Tony Martin ( in my view, of course) Was he fired or left Sabbath?
@lisduggan64 I thought people in You Tube were smart enough to tell literal meaning from figurative one but I see I was wrong. I apologize for writing things that are beyond you tubers, sorry.
Who are the Fans? ‼️sleeping ? Ray Smile😂no réaction 👎Fans👎Ray💋But J. Lee, change the ton... what cinema to play his guitar, he ANNOYS me...👎Keep simple, no need for all that, others are largely at your level without all this Trafalgar😹. RAY must crying... for singing🤷♀️
How can a band this good be so underrated ??????????
Badlands was so Kool you can't even compare
So underrated! One of my favorite bands!!
RIP RAY!!! Best Rock Singer EVER!!! So short lived, but so long lasting!!!!
Among the best but not the best - 1 Plant, 2 Mercury are the 2 best.
@@montyrayza7220: Plant and Mercury couldn't shine Ray's shoes vocally. That's just the way it is.
@@montyrayza7220 Just vocally there are plenty better than Mercury, and even prime Plant. Ray is one of them.
Go out and get this album people! Jake, Ray, Eric and Greg could go toe 2 toe with anyone💪🤘One of the best rock records of the 80’s period👏
Without A Doubt....one of the best albums ever... This band was flawless.
Ray Gillan one of the best singers ever !!
And unfortunately, Greg chaisson doesn't get anywhere near the recognition that he deserved on bass!!
he was always recognized for that goofy look he had though.
Greg Chaisson is badass....super underrated.

The bass on Streets Cry Freedom! Hmmmm Baby!!!
Absolutely amazing. That solo at the end was sick! Ray was perfect. I saw them in 89 in Johnson city. Great show. Jake is the shit.
I saw them in Knoxville in 1989. Ray sang his ass off. I'll never forget it...
"This ain't no Madonna concert..." WELL put Ray. R.I.P. You are gone, missed etc. but NOT forgotten.

Jake is fantastic !! Great vocals of the late Ray Gillen. Still sounds great today.
Jakes hair had it’s own contract.

You've got me imagining an Awesome jam with Jake,Vai & Vandenberg on that tour. Must have been one cool gig.
Jake did have the coolest f**kin hair! I still listen to these guys once in a while. I saw them a couple of times at L'amours in Brooklyn...

R.I.P Ray and thanks for the great jams. This time-line sucks :(
I wish I was back in 1989. If I only had a time machine.
Excellent band
Top 5 live performance tour of all time !
saw them live, had all their albums...bad ass band.... p.s. drummer sang for racer x.
Not the drummer in this vid but yeah on second and third albums and tours
Truly awesome.
Awesome!!! R.I.P Ray

Black Sabbath lost a great singer and performer. The last true Hard Rock band. Rest in peace Ray!!
Only thing, Ray Gillan never sang for Sabbath. Ian Gillian sang for Deep Purple then sang for Sabbath, 2 completely different vocalists.

Jake "E" Lee "Empowerment"
whooops, the drummer that also was the vocalist for racer x was on the voodoo highway album, not this guy here.
the drummer is Eric Singer who now plays for Kiss...been playing with Kiss for years !
THAT IS ERIC SINGER ON DRUMS. HE WENT ON TO KISS IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS TOURE.
@earlyblue Hell yes he does!!
FUCKIN AMAZING! I love this shit.
talk about long hair! Jake looks like Glenn Hughes in the California Jam! Ray blows the roof off the place. the kicked ass
I never noticed but this sounds like David Coverdale and some of the old whitesnake guitar riffs are there too..
JAKE E LEE RULES!!!
Hey! That guitar player is pretty good.
Who would ever give this a thunbs down??
I watched this whole show last night on a bootleg DVD i have, who were they opening for? anyone know?
