Jesus what a performance. Every bit as ferocious and on-point as the LP version. What a loss to rock, that these guys had to hang it up so soon.

This is incredible. Ray sounds exactly like the studio version. An underrated legend, gone too soon.

Seen them at the Lone Star in KC west port. I stood right in front of Jake as he high fived me several times during the show. I had to piss sooo bad but, I held it through the whole show.
Later left the club with my buddy, and I got in a fight with four other guys and kicked their asses and I was tackled by security and put in jail that night.
I will never forget that night as long as I live. Probably the best time I ever had.

They had an energy that many bands couldn’t compete with. Love the raw sounding guitar, the Zeppelin style singing. They were definitely unique and sounded like no else. Amazing.

    1. Good audio; great nostalgic song
    2. Great video work; closeups of Jake E. Lee when it counts...&
    3. Ray Gillen...R.I.P.

omg! I love Badlands but haven't seen much of their live footage. This is an amazing performance -- you can feel the energy, 20 years later. Tastes change but musicianship never goes out of style. This was arguably the best band from their genre... they had amazing potential. Their talent was unequaled, and as is visible here, they also brought it when they hit the stage.
Glad these videos are on the web... RIP Ray, but his legacy will live on in our memories forever.

Thanks for posting this! I agree that Badlands was one of the best bands of this time in spite of their short amount of time together. I was lucky enough to meet them at a show in NYC - my friend was Ray's cousin and got us on the bus & in their hotel room. An awesome memory!!!

Got to see Badlands in early ‘92 - in San Juan Capistrano California! Met them backstage. A bunch of us at the time had been attending GIT and were in awe of Jake. Ans so we travelled a fairly good distance from Hollywood to see the show. Sadly, Gillain looked and sounded infirm by then. Jake was very shy and curiously appeared introverted or simply not interested (who could blame him considering the circumstances). I don’t think he particularly wanted to engage with young students from that reputable music school and be subjected to listening to endless, puerile gushing over him lol

I think Ray sounded better cause he never lost it like Plant did in his prime. I love Zep too but Badlands music never grows old on me the way Zeps can at times. Just my opinion....
