It's perfect! You mounted it the orientation I would have. I always say, if you can hold it you can turn it. Into what, might be the better question. Yours is a wonderful bowl, obviously, lots to see and explore. Great job, Will, keep'em coming!
Phil
Thanks very much buddy :) more on the way when I can find them in the pile!
That is a fabulous piece Will! It's beautiful and interesting. It's useful and it's art. Great work! Cheers, Paige C.
Not bad for a first go, I have a few more Phil pieces floating around somewhere too 😁 Thanks Paige!
Will, you did great on this one. doing 'live edge' pieces are a challenge for everyone. Especially Root balls, and burls. All the hidden cracks, inclusions and fissures cause the piece to change shapes many times in the process of coming out (or up) with the finished shape and function. That is why it is called art. You have an idea, but nature controls the outcome.
I love this concept, nature really did determine this one, and centrifugal force
It's gorgeous Will, you might've been cold but the colours of the bowl are warm... love the grain and the cut shows it off to perfection... really, really nice I enjoyed watching this video... thanks for sharing
Thanks Ruthlyn I'm glad you like it 😁
Love it! Glad Phil did too
Thanks matey 😁
Hi Will, That is definitely a Phil bowl. I love it. Great job on turning it as well. Take care Will. Cheers, Huw
Thanks matey!
Interesting piece Will. I see a lot of turners say "Life is too short to turn crappy wood!", but then we don't get pieces like this. That said, I would have been more inclined to start that piece between centre's and establish a Tennon to help keep the piece together. Still you did a great job.
Thanks very much matey :) I don't believe in such a thing as crappy wood!
This is a lovely piece it just amazes me how beautiful the wood is under all of that "Ugly"
Thanks Tammy :) me too I do love peeling back the layers !
getting brave using the full size grinder buffer !!!
Had to be done :) my new favourite toy!
Will such an interesting piece, beautiful tones and inclusions with the perfect finish
I love it ☺
Enjoyable video as always, thank you for sharing 😁

Nah, sometimes the firewood is a good choice especially if you have The Touch. And such a fine touch you have Will - it turned out to be a real beauty. Thanks for sacrificing some warmth for some beauty🙏 Stay safe. -Mike😷⏳💉
Thanks buddy :) it's warming to me! Or maybe I'm warming to it haha
@@willmakeseverything3829 Yes. loving our wood is a two way street, eh ? hehe
Nice.

Looks Pretty Cool Will👍 I Don't Like Winter Either... Stay Warm Brother!
Thanks matey!
Looks great 👍
Thanks buddy :)
it is interesting Will ! are you at the end of winter? for some reason I thought you all were in winter when we were in summer, not sure why
All the northern hemisphere has winter at the same time... it's only in the southern hemisphere that we hold summer over Christmas and New Year 😊🌏🌞🎄 (love your work too, Doug!)
U know my best sellers at the show were the pieces I hated the most or left very "rustic"...... never know what exactly may catch someones eye
People are strange 😁
Maybe the elm root is ugly but not more than you
Hahaha thanks baby ❤
