I don't play video games... but am thinking of getting this for work since I tend to have multiple documents open across the board. How is the sharpness of text on this monitor?
I got my Neo g9 March 2022 have had no issues I updated firmware to 1011 has improved the dimming less blooming improved HDR. Update 17/12/22 I have had no scan lines no flickering no dead pixels I turn off HDR in windows when viewing none HDR content RUclips or browsing. There is an option in windows 11 to have auto HDR set this to auto HDR on for all games it improves none HDR games and has worked great in HDR games. BFV HDR game improved the HDR with it set to auto HDR.
I have the G9 neo as main, and G7 32" as secondery screen. I've not had a single problem or bug with any of them. Guess i have been lucky, i would most def buy them again. The G9 neo makes ALL games i throw at it a blast! So much more immersive, Can't recomend it enough!
You have likely not looked closely enough. Or you simply don't know what to look for. There are issued that seem either super common or that is on every of these monitors. I know because I saw it on 4 of them in a row. They have lines or spots of yellow color on a solid white screen. Dark blue background will show this even better since it seems the lines come from the blue color being mixed into the white. Scanlines along the edges most prolific in 240hz mode. It is also not quite perfect in a totally dark room. You can clearly see the background lighting up, it is not as dark as I would want or expect for this pricepoint. Windows autoHDR is not quite bright enough for darker games and it also has occasional flickers of bluer tones.
@@skybellrock i had neo g9 and i dont have any issues like u said. Maybe it was luck. So far i loved it. My only issues is my DP got no signal. I tried every fix i could find and still my dp got no signal

Got mine for $740 brand new on eBay. I've only had it for 2 days and so far everything's amazing. I still need to do the firmware update and as far as everything else time will tell. But I absolutely love it and it's the best monitor I've ever owned
@iflick7235 damn I'm so sorry to hear that. Obviously I posted my comment around a year ago so I can give you a one year review. I still haven't figured out how to do the firmware update which I know is sad . But as far as the monitor itself it is absolutely amazing and I've had no issues with it at all. Worth every penny
My original 2020 G9 died 2 days ago after having 3 panel replacements between 2020 and 2023 by Samsungs onsite service. I have now ordered the 2023 model year of the Neo G9. At least for much less than I originally paid for that G9. Lets hope that it actually works this time around.
I dont know why no youtubers mention this but you can plug in two inputs from your PC to the monitor and turn on picture by picture mode to split the screen in to two monitors making a seamless dual monitor setup. The only downside is that the refresh rate is 120 hz. It is really weird how no youtubers mention this or go into any real detail, they just mention that you can plug your PS5 into it and move on, they all just use the monitor as a massive 49inch single monitor for gaming, which would require the 4080 for the newest (unoptimized ) games or DLSS on performance mode which doesn't look very good. I would imagine most people looking at this monitor are people who have a dual monitor setup but want the clean seamless setup with the occasional super ultrawide gaming experience when the game can run properly. I switch to picture by picture mode when I am playing games and want Netflix or youtube on the other side and then switch back to regular mode when I am just browsing so i get the smooth 240hz.
Got the monitor today actually and I did notice a bit of scan lines on Google dark mode. Nothing else seemed to pull it. A little bit of digging and trying turning off adaptive sync and that fixed it completely.

I had the Neo G9 for a couple weeks and had same problem as in video @ 19:50mark (backlight only; barely seeing the outlines menus) and after painstakingly checking (literally every single thread on the subject) the internet for solutions; including, but not limited to factory reset, unplug/re-plug all devices, both with/without device(s) connected, power cycling and updating firmware (which was in itself another dilemma, as the monitor seemingly can ONLY be updated with the latest iterations of USB technology... which happens to be USB-C [3.1]... either generation Gen1/Gen 2 should work....Which took me about 7 unsuccessful updates to figure out)... After finally giving up (which is EXTREMELY rare for myself to do) and contacting both Amazon's/Samsung's customer support I was left with the sole option of returning for refund... I think I may just got for the "newer" 2023 OLED G9 monitor, which should be released in a couple weeks (for myself, on Amazon)

I just got this monitor! Wish all games were compatible, but can't wait to get more 3rd person ones, and a newer pc. Using an old Asus laptop with Ryzen 7 3750H and 1660 ti right now with hdmi, think I need to reapply thermal pastes. Just traded a 3090 with this monitor 😅 could've kept it but oh well. Now I may want to beef up again.
I currently have two 27" Dell U2715H 60Hz 2560 x 1440 monitors, which would be the same width as the Neo G9, and I am looking at purchasing two Neo G7s, but not sure I really need 4K. I would end up with two monitors next to each other that are larger than the Neo G9. I am torn on the bad reviews of this monitor, but it is actually cheaper to purchase the Neo G9. I will be running with a 4090 GPU and 13th Gen i9 Intel CPU. Thoughts? Thanks
32:9 is much more immersive than 16:9 and it's brighter. 1011 firmware upgrade has removed some issues. Purely for games or multi task work (apart from design or photography) G9 Neo is better.
I have a 34” Samsung, don’t remember the exact name, but it’s a 60Hz 3440x1440p, and it does the sleep thing too, I cannot put my computer to sleep or restart it a couple of times too fast because it will go black as it had no input, I have my pc connected to a tv too and it sets the main screen to that one, and completely ignores the curved Samsung. You have to restart again and hope that it detects it, or you can use the monitor joystick to turn de display on before restarting your computer, that way it detects it 100% of the times

Ok. Here’s what happened with my G9 not the neo. I was running a GeForce 1060. The monitor would go to sleep and it wouldn’t respond. Even with unplugging the monitor and hard reboot of my pc. Looking up online for any support or suggestions on how to fix it. I had to send it back in 1 week of having the thing. I have recently upgraded to a 3070 and I bought the neo g9. It’s a great monitor and while using it, when I was able to get it to work with the ultra wide format. I was drooling. Yes I love the super ultra wide display. I might have to go to monitors anonymous for help. lol.
I just ordered this monitor which is going to replace 2 GP27U's which also have mini LED's. The main reason I wanted something different is due to the EXACT same issue with black screen overlays you were displaying at 19:50. Now I am thinking its something with mini led monitors? In my case I can basically recreate it by alt tabbing out of a game. Both monitors can have this issue and I have tried everything to fix. Knowing that this monitor does the same thing really discourages me and I might just return and go with the OLED
@17:52 it's the nvidia gpu. I watched Wendel review the G9 and he mentioned something about nvidia having trouble running this resolution on 240hz. He also mentioned that the AMD GPU had no trouble with that at all...

I got the same monitor for only $ 1050 usd , and I love it .. Question for you , How do you divide the monitor in 2 or 3 giant ways ?do you need special software ? I am using a Apple Macbookpro .Max.
It has picture by picture so that would split it into two monitors with two separate inputs. Other than that it’s big enough to run applications ins smaller windows and have multiple windows open
Rtx 3080. Depends on the game. Doom eternal hits full 144hz, other triple A titles range 80-120 on average depending on settings. Lower settings can get closer to 144.
I just bought one and I’m having the same issue where the screen stays black and no signal found from my computer. Even when turning off from a complete shut down. I have to reset my PC to get the signal on.
Try different cables, check your GPU to make sure it’s not on that end and if it’s none of those I’d contact Samsung to see if they can resolve it for you or replace the monitor
Did you change between DisplayPort and HDMI channels on the monitor? When I got my Neo G9, it first booted up through HDMI and then I needed to change it to DisplayPort. I know this simple situation is likely not your current issue but I thought it might help.

have a similar depth desk - 63cm so about 2ft-ish. How are you finding it with the arm (and what arm do you use?) I could pull the desk from the wall if necessary to let it hang off the back a little..
Your panel going black and not waking up from sleep is typically caused by your cabling. If your DVI cable can't handle the bandwidth, it bugs out with waking up. Its extremely bad with MAC's, cause Mac is a pain in the ass.
I'm sure you can get the PS5 to upscale to 4k if you manually change the aspect ratio in the monitor settings. Instead of the picture being on the side via PBP it is in the middle with the black bars on the sides. Haven't tried it for about 3 months but sure it works...?

When using the HDR mode on windows, do you face any issues where non HDR apps look dull? I'm looking at getting on of these but i'm worried that im going to run into some of these issues
im dying to get this monitor but lets be honest - current GPU are not fast enough to get you over 120fps with this resolution (i got 3080ti + 12900k 5.5ghz + 32gb 6400cl32 ram)...
Why are the manufacturers focussing so much on the brightness. 2.000 Nits is way too high, no need for even more. This will just hurt your eyes lol. I personally am fine with my OLED screen with only 400 Nits lol

I would like an ultra wide but unsure how practical this would be, I am running a M1 Max with 32 gpu cores, in the process of building a 4090 pc. My options so far are G9 Neo, just returned the regular G9 today for the mini LED display on the neo The Alienware 34 with Oled The Alienware 38 inch The Samsung G8 Oled model. I haven’t tried all of those but consider the brightness with OLEDs as it can suffer there and do you need super ultra wide or just regular ultra wide? I want to try the G8 OLED personally out of that list.
@@1UpNerdcore regular ultra wide would be perfectly fine as this is mainly for productivity web design, programming with the occasional media like RUclips as I use my LG C1 for gaming, I’m coming from 2x 27 inch dell U2720q but I didn’t like the split and a curved ultra wide would be perfect. I would love a 38” but could also settle for a decent “34 as I never made full use of the fuel 27”’s

It only has hdmi 2.0 not 2.1 and it’ll do 120hz but it won’t upscale to 4k

It’s pretty good. Using clear type can help clean it up a little bit and it’ll depend on the font size but overall it’s good.

I use the wallpaper engine off Steam and search for Star Wars

I found the solution enabling CSM (Compatibility support module) on bios.
Could you split the screen into a 27inch center for gaming and have 2 "panels" either side

I have exactly the same problem as the author, the monitor stops displaying the image, only a full reboot helps
have a similar depth desk - 63cm so about 2ft-ish. How are you finding it with the arm (and what arm do you use?) I could pull the desk from the wall if necessary to let it hang off the back a little..
The arm helps for sure but it still feels a little close. I personally would need the arm to use this long term.
Is this monitor even worth using with a laptop? Even if it is one of those super fancy gaming laptops?

Your panel going black and not waking up from sleep is typically caused by your cabling. If your DVI cable can't handle the bandwidth, it bugs out with waking up. Its extremely bad with MAC's, cause Mac is a pain in the ass.
This doesn’t use a DVI cable it’s DP. I tried 3 different cables and it did it with all of them also
I'm sure you can get the PS5 to upscale to 4k if you manually change the aspect ratio in the monitor settings. Instead of the picture being on the side via PBP it is in the middle with the black bars on the sides. Haven't tried it for about 3 months but sure it works...?

If this monitor could do 2160p than I would definitely buy one but it’s 1440p, I have to wait for the new G9 57” 2160p monitor
im dying to get this monitor but lets be honest - current GPU are not fast enough to get you over 120fps with this resolution (i got 3080ti + 12900k 5.5ghz + 32gb 6400cl32 ram)...
Some games can get well over 120fps even at this resolution with a 3080ti. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Overwatch, etc.

Why are the manufacturers focussing so much on the brightness. 2.000 Nits is way too high, no need for even more. This will just hurt your eyes lol. I personally am fine with my OLED screen with only 400 Nits lol

I haven’t tried all of those but consider the brightness with OLEDs as it can suffer there and do you need super ultra wide or just regular ultra wide? I want to try the G8 OLED personally out of that list.
@@1UpNerdcore regular ultra wide would be perfectly fine as this is mainly for productivity web design, programming with the occasional media like RUclips as I use my LG C1 for gaming, I’m coming from 2x 27 inch dell U2720q but I didn’t like the split and a curved ultra wide would be perfect. I would love a 38” but could also settle for a decent “34 as I never made full use of the fuel 27”’s

Impossible to enjoy it at dark environment. It's brightness is too strong for the eyes and if you lower it it looses color volume!
You also never mentioned that when splitting screen you are only limited 120hz on both screens. also certain resolutions are not available..
