I like your video because you started with "im happy!." You know how many people never do that?? Makes a huge difference. Blessings and sweet setup bro
Have you thought of getting the AE headers? I'm thinking of that. Also, I'm wondering about engine swap. 4.0 to the newer 3.8. Wondering if it's a plug-in play or if there's a lot of differences with mounting. I have about 240k miles on my '06 Pathfinder.
I like this intake, if for anything how clean and solid it looks. I do kinda wish they rotated the sensor bung to the back side to make it look even cleaner.
Nice detailed install!!! I like the sound it makes when you put your foot on the accelerator! ahaha. Next test is a deep water hole! ;) can't wait to see how you like it once the tune is all set up!
Corradetti Motorsports it’s does sound amazingly more throaty in the higher RPM. Not annoyingly so though. After having it on for two days I’m even more happy with it.
Why did you say the intake tube wouldn't last? Is it the quality? How long will it last? I'm trying to decide between K&N or aFe for my 2019 Frontier 4.0
Also, how would I go about taking mine to get tuned after a new intake? I've never had a vehicle tuned. I'm not sure if I'm gonna do exhaust upgrade or not yet.
@@Dagrootx Oh I have also have Flowmaster super 44 too wonder if can handle same speed with afe momentum intake for my truck or what you suggest for other intake for flowmaster super 44 ?
15 Xterra. Installed a K&N open intake almost a year ago and was unhappy with how loose the heat shield was around the filter and of course as i checked under the hood one day the filter was a little damaged. Checked to see if any of the bolts were loose but it was just a loose fit by design. Really looking into these intakes. Do you have the specific model intake? Also coming from the east coast should i stick with an oiled filter? Or would that matter? Thanks!!
Brandon McGurk link is in the vid description. Also, I totally know what you meant on the KN. I’ve seen that before! I would suggest going with an oiled filter on the east coast though.
Just wondering as I look at mods for my Frontier. Wouldn't a K and N air filter do the same as this as the AFE website boasts 1-2 horsepower increase as does K and N. We are talking $400 vs $59. Both of these are oiled filters
I noticed when I changed out my intake to a cold air intake that the box is built totally differently. It allows for more air flow and not sucking air through a straw. I think just the design of the air box alone and the tube being bigger to your throttle body is a game changer alone.
@@russtover I wouldn't call the original air intake a "straw" as engineers design the engine for thus truck. The original box and filter are pretty large. California DMV emissions are pretty picky when they see a modification. They often fail vehicles with cold air intakes. I used to have a Honda with a cold air intake. I'd have to swap back to stock intake every few years to pass the visual inspection at the smog center. This unit appears to have a CA approved sticker but I think the smog center can still give you a hard time
William Denke yes. The snorkel was actually in the truck and is a TJM. Totally different part. It just so happened to fit really close when I installed the intake
So after running your afe cold air intake and your afe exhaust is it still doing good. I ask cause I just order mine today and I hope I'm happy with it. And any advice you can give would be much appreciated
My understanding is without a tune. As for tune numbers I won’t get dyno numbers when I tune because I’ll be just taking eng info and getting a tune built remotely. So I’ll give you a solid burnout and butt dyno review!
New subscriber here man. I starting to love the contents. I noticed the battery you have. What brand and size? And also the battery clamp or bracket to hold the battery i like it, what brand is that and where did you buy it? Thanks
DON Q thanks man! I’m running a yellow top optima. It’s been pretty good. My next battery will be a full throttle battery though. Best in the biz! The battery hold down is from Offroadgorilla.com
@@Dagrootx hey man. I would love to request a video of modifications for the halogen stock headlight bulb. Would it be possible to use a led on our cone type reflector housing and which one is compatible with the retainer ring and to provide perfect beam pattern. I know there are tons of 9007 bulb in the market. Please...🙏
Hey don q, just to help I just installed the hikira 9007 led bulbs on mine they are 40 dollars on Amazon and you can use the retainer as well the bulb comes apart.
There is a video on how to install them it is a different brand but i have bought these before and the peam pattern is perfect even in the regular housing. You don't need tools but the passenger side is a little tight
Jist a tip... you should never power wash the top of your engine like that. Try a spray cleaner degreaser and rags. You could get water into a lot of places that will ruin your day....

Awesome, i agree with the oil filter part. I used to run oil filter but switched to aFe dry about 15 yrs ago.
dang just got my truck, was gonna be conservative but damn now I need this stuff

Since this one came out Z1 off road has developed and even nicer setup! That’s prob the one I would go with.
Nice man! I hear the growl of your frontier!! Nice Mods!!! Very cool!! 👍
nice I got the same intake to set it up with a snorkle, once I get the snorkle in I'll share more input. love your videos keep up the good work

More power is always a good thing!
Way better than k&n air filter kits
You ought to post a video with a walk around of your red Nissan
Ben Perea I have one. It’s a little bit older. I’ll be doing another one with all the updates!
Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing! Have you been leaving the cap on or off?
Awesome video!!!
Let's have a up graded upgrade done on the Nissan Armada !
I like it! Is it still CA smog compliant? That's my biggest fear with modifications is the crappy smog laws
Brandon yeah. It’s one of a very few that are. It comes with a sticker that shows its smog legal.
Any thoughts on doing the poor man’s air box drilled holes and K&N filter mod?
Did you ever do the Uprev? What happened? Can't see a video of it in your upload list...
Check the Nissan overland frontier Uprev tune vid. Also, the second Uprev vid is when I do all the burnouts.
Same gain as an oil change or a fresh coat of wax....

A purge and rattle would be awesome if you're in a really dusty environment.
Awesome video, just got my Frontier. Noticed your bumper during install (will watch other videos) love it what brand is it?
A.T.F. Affection/Tolerant/Fun thanks Man. It’s a hefty fab aluminum bumper. Amazingly light and super heavy duty!!
DaGrootX thanks, I really like those. Top of my budget though, will be a consideration.
Do you have a catch can installed?
Sorry for late comment post but are these intakes good for daily driver and better good gas mileage ? I have 2015 frontier
Totally fine for daily. You prob won’t see much of a fuel mileage improvement though.

About 1mpg ish.

@@Dagrootx aren't we all? Lol we still like to tinker with our vehicles like they're rc cars or erector sets hahaha
Want to make it a little quicker on the get up and go , put a throttle control on it.
What snorkle modle did you use for you truck ?? I'm trying to get something similar for a 06 xterra 4.0
What did you spray to clean your engine?
Jonathan Elswood just some gunk engine cleaner.
your truck is a garage queen so why even install a chimney when you know damn well thats not going in water and a cold air intake, all that for what?
Afe vs volant 🤔
crisikingful I chose AFE because of its seal and fit and finish.
