My Weird Coincidence Concerning The Collapse Of The Francis Scott Key Bridge

- I was shocked to get the news today about the collapse of the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore, Maryland.
I immediately remembered that I had sailed under that very same bridge during a cruise I did with American Cruise Lines.
I checked my files to find the information about that cruise, and was REALLY shocked to discover a really weird coincidence: The day I sailed under that bridge was exactly one year before the day it collapsed. The collapse of the bridge occurred on March 26, 2024, and the day I sailed under that bridge was March 26, 2023. That really boggles my mind!
My heart goes out to the families of all the people who died in that tragic bridge collapse. Also, I assume that it will disrupt traffic in the Baltimore area for years until a new bridge can be constructed. It's a tragic situation. My thoughts are with all of those who are affected by it.
Wow Jim, that is a bizarre coincidence !! Love all your ACL videos ! I was born in Bmore and brought up in Dundalk, MD, I can remember the area before the bridge was even built, and going over it multiple times since; have sailed under it on a dinner cruise on the Spirit of Baltimore out of the inner harbor. I am deeply saddened for anyone on that bridge, and for my hometown of Baltimore !!
March 25 was also the day this bridge opened in 1977!
I guess they got away with it for 57 years, but yeah... seems like it was just an accident waiting to happen.

I’m not happy abt heights & even less happy abt being on high bridges. There are one or two high bridges across a river where I live, one I tolerate but the other I absolutely refuse to drive over. The day after the FSK Bridge collapse, I was stuck on the one I tolerate for several minutes due to heavy traffic. To say I wasn’t a happy camper is an understatement.

They're going to have to go to some other nearby port, like New York City or Bayonne, New Jersey.
