Yeah how where you able to hold the clutch and get the 80 lb pounds? I acually just changed mine and at first had a slight clutch rattle. Gave it half throttle and had a loud screech noise and it wouldn’t move anymore.
Very informative video. Needing to reclock my secondary for 28 inch tires I installed. Going with c1 instead of b2. Could you please share how you were able to torgue to 80ft lbs. Special Spanner tool ?
if you look you will see a hole in the secondary that is threaded , all you do is run a 6mm bolt in that hole and it opens up the pulley and the belt comes right off, you dont take anything off except the belt cover.
Yup, it is possible to remove the belt the way you mentioned in your comment @zforce950driver9. Please don't worry about removing the front pulley if you do have to. But then again, this guy's belt blew up, so it may be beneficial to remove the pully to get all the debris and belt cords unwound and removed.
After I changed my belt, it has a slight rattle at idle. Only thing I can think of is the plate holding the bearing in the cover was a little bent inward...
What causes the belt to shread? Was it the weights or not? I have replaced my belts twice 2 different brands. One is an Ultimax belt and the other was a Lostar belt. They both got shread after riding less then 30 miles. Let me know what you think.
How many miles do you have on it? I would be willing to give it a shot, but was very disappointed with the Gates belt, especially since the reviews online are good.
TDK Repair how did u torque to 80 lbs? I had trouble trying to hold the clutches from spinning. I only removed the main clutch not the secondary to put my belt on. I just tightened it with my dewalt torque gun and put loctite . 2017 800 trail.
You're a true professional very rare you see somebody on this RUclips that I can learn from anybody to be happy to have you for a mechanic on a crew!

I will have to try that when I replace the belt next time. Thanks for the advice.
You have to remove the big nut or it won’t open when you put the 6mm bolt in it to open it

is there a link to buy the original CFMOTO Zforce 800EX CVT Belt?

Should the clutch only spin free one way???
Do you have to take off the rear tire to do this or can you do it without removing it?
Do you have the part number for the cfmoto belt and where did you buy it? Thx...
I purchased my belt on eBay, but any dealer can get it as well. The part number is 0800-055000-0001
Is the aluminum belt housing cast into the block or is it a bolt on?
Bolts on
Is this all the same for a 500 trail
Where did you find the torque specs?
If you search you can find free downloads for the service manual
I got a ultimax belt instead of the stock CFMOTO belt and it’s a world of difference. And also half the price.
How many miles do you have on it? I would be willing to give it a shot, but was very disappointed with the Gates belt, especially since the reviews online are good.
TDK Repair I was told to stay away from gates, my local dealer sold me this one for $99. I had 1900 miles on my machine.
Thhank you, great video...
Would you have the part number?
@@TDKRepair hi do you know which gates belt? They have 3 compatible models: 40G, 40C and 40R.

How did you even drive with that belt lol
LOL I didn't. Got stranded and had to get trailered home!
You made a mistake. You definitely need to correct. The arrow on the belt needs to face towards the front of the vehicle
No doing. That on the trail.
Wow certainly not an easy trail side repair.
