    ~About Magriza Made Me Cook:
    » Magriza is slang for uGogo (Grandmother in isiNdebele) and the name of the show is derived from Prince's inspiration for falling in love with cooking; his grandmother. The goal of MMMC is to document and serve Africa's diverse food culture, one dish at a time. We believe that Africa has got unique meals that ought to be talked about, and most importantly, cooked consistently. We believe in the values of Ubuntu, Respect, Creativity and Minimalism.

      @@nqobilekhumalo2158 Dude am talking about why the place is named Bulawayo. That Mzilikazi Khumalo named it after Amazulu Empire Capital Kwabulawayo. Not that it was his capital. It served as his home as one of Shaka's Generals and as a Zulu warrior. Because mind u, he was not Ndebele but Zulu who brought different Groups under one rule while establishing his empire. His not even royal. Every Zulu knows that. U guys are called ndebeles because he conquered the Southern ndebeles and took their name as a sign of power, that's why he was terrorising Tswana. Tswana could not do anything since Mzilikazi was tied to the Zulus as their child and one of their own. Dude am a Zulu from Botswana, difference is that we still use the traditional naming system of our father's name as surnames hence fourth my last name tswana. I DID NOT SAY ITS THE CAPITAL. Also that's the reason your isindebele is related to Isizulu and Isixhosa because of Mzilikazi is origin and roots

    • @ndlovukazim318
      @ndlovukazim318 3 года назад +7

      Sure but let each respective tribe rock imvunulo yabo... we are not a homogeous nation. We need to be comfortable with difference, language and traditional attire can teach that very well.

    • @kwanare
      @kwanare 3 года назад +6

      I 2nd your point Ndlovukazi, the many tribes in the land need to be free to showcase their traditional attire & not be forced to assimilate into either Ndebele or Shona as our schooling system seems to be doing.

    • @mrhbt
      @mrhbt 3 года назад

      @@ndlovukazim318 don't get me wrong. Im not saying we should do away with our respective traditional wear. The idea was simply about having 1 thing that represents all the different tribes/ ethnic groups, something that will scream "unity" on a national level. However when it comes to observing tribe specific festivals, we can always revert back to the orignal regalia.Those are just my thoughts.

    • @mrhbt
      @mrhbt 3 года назад

      @@kwanare i wasn't insinuating that wear ban or abolish the existing wear. Im simply trying to imply that we can have 1 thing that will represent all cultures in zim. Something that even white, indian, mixed race, ndebele, shona, venda etc. can wear even abroad and be easily identified as Zimbabwean. The traditional ones we already have will still be very much important yes and will remain in existance until the end of time. It's not a "force" matter but rather another perspective on the "unity" spectrum. Those are just my thoughts.
