@@JoshSmith-wv9ww because we never really flattened the curve here in the us. In the last couple videos amy has posted, no one is wearing masks on public... not sure what area of Australia she is in.
I am so so amazed by how many things happen to you and you still keep positive and post videos . If posting videos under these circumstances isn't an act of love for your subscribers ,then I don't know what that is .

Would be so much safer surely there is gotta be a increased infection risk if they are dabbling with it time after time? Although I really like that way he taped the end up that way it doesn’t hang outside the shirts or inside near gj tubes
@@gillyana If sterility is maintained, than no, that is not correct. Without going back and watching it again, I believe they had it on a blue field, which blue in medical things means sterile. So if sterility was maintained, it is fine.
@@MichaelJTritter44 I understand that and I’m not questioning the sterile techniques used. I just know that I’m the uk if this were to happen the vascular team would have maybe 1, 2 at most at fixing it before removing it and replacing another one.

I recently had to get my medical records for a Referral and reading through them many doctors started their note with “This is a very pleasant young woman” and then continue on explaining what I am being seen for, etc. Doctors usually start notes with something like “This is a pleasant… or just saying X is here for x today. Anyway, I imagine Amy’s said the same from what we all saw, she seemed so kind and patient. ❤
Cassandra Clares books are all a masterpiece! I love all the books in the shadowhunters universe. My favorit is probably the newest one which is the eldest curses that revolve around Alec and Magnus.
And definitely prefered the series over the movie, it honestly just made so much more sense to make it a tv series than a movie as it allowed for way more character development that tje movie did

I love your videos. I am truly sorry for all the medical issues/surgeries you’ve had. As a baby I had liver problems and had to receive a transplant. I also had to have a few others surgeries as well. I hope your doing well and I am wishing you all the best Amy 💜
The same people who produced Shadowhunters are going to produce The House of Night Series. I would recommend PC Cast series to anyone who loves Mortal Instruments.

She was so good with the accupuncture needles. They don't hurt at all.
They would give me them for 20 minutes and leave the room to relax.
The one inside the very top of your ear can hurt at times when they hit a nerve.
You know what really feels good', is to have a kitten lick your ears', it makes your spine tingle and relieves a lot of pain' ;|)
I love the books. The series was way better then the film
Maybe the Hickman repair kit is in short supply because of Covid?

I don’t know about over there but here in America the hospitals do not keep supplies like hickmans etc because they expire so they are in warehouses and have to be sent for, dumb I know but that may be the reason it took so long.

I love seeing when you have posted, your medical journey is so interesting so thank you for sharing. I actually feel like you educated people and more knowledge is always good. When medicine does advance, what sort of thing would you need to be created so that you could come off TPN? xx
Speaking for myself (i am not on TPN but i do have gastroparesis like Amy does, for me there would need to be some sort of treatment to make the digestive system actually move again. Mine is paralyzed like Amy’s and we can’t consume food by mouth as it does not actually get moved from the stomach through our bodies, it just sits there until it comes back out one way or another. So yeah, some way of making the stomach work again :)

Cassandra Clare is amazing!!!! I actually liked both, but there were part of each I liked more than the other.
I used to get the ear ones but you leave them in. They are tiny. The lower ear and inside did wonders for my arthritis and TMJ. I became a fan after the first time.
I love acupuncture with stimulation. Works amazing for me on my back injury.
You are so brave to be so relaxed to sit there while they replace your hickman 😵 I loved the books 😁 Love and strength. X
I always prefer books to films. My fav book series is Lorien's Legacies (I think that's what it's called in English).
When I got acupuncture my doctor attached little electrodes to the needles to make my muscles move in an attempt to get my muscles to relax... I was waiting to see your doctor do the same and but I'm glad you didn't have to because it was so weird and uncomfortable

I've been in love with the Mortal Instruments Series for some years now. I did watch the movie but not all of the series. I thought both of them did things in a way I didn't enjoy, but also had some good points, so I'm really undecided about that. Genereally I do prefer the books over both film and series, and also all the other books, like the Infernal Devices.
Amy, Can't the hospital give you one of the rolly rack thingy you need to put your TPN on and you SALINE or any other iv meds that you need to hang? That one does seem more logical for you to have. Thank you for filming the acupucture I have been afraid it would be painful and you put me at easy about doing it. I want to start the Shadowhunters book series what is the name of the first book? Absolutely love shadow hunters, one of my favourite TV series. I definitely agree the books are better. Reminds me I need to get into reading some more.
I've been rereading the mortal instruments as well!! Not long finished the infernal devices and now on the dark artifacts!! For me its books>series>films
I loved the books. I read the original series and they have a few extra books also. I loved them all

I loved Shadow Hunters the Mortal Instruments the series so much! I was so mad when it wasn't renewed. I loved the actors and the way they portrayed the characters. Magnus was one of my favorites!
Agreed I enjoyed the show because we got to see more of Magnus & Alec’s relationship compared to the books & Magnus is one of my favourite characters too! 😍🙏🏼

They have universal health care. And, again, before anyone goes on about paying higher taxes, their minimum wage is livable (far higher than in the US) . Amy is fine. Can people just Google this in future?
@@cpierce4562 no healthcare is not completely free in Australia (like in the UK). There are costs. A couple of weeks after your comment Amy passed away & in her last video (filmed a couple of days before she passed) she asked viewers to watch ads because she was struggling financially and hadn’t been able to upload many videos due to extremely poor health. Amy & Tom moved into their newly built house around the time Amy’s health started affecting her RUclips and they wouldn’t have planned for the loss of income. Don’t comment judgemental things as you clearly don’t know what Amy was going through. People aren’t forced to watch ads, it’s just a suggestion

The shadowhunters/mortal instruments world is my whole favorite story too!!! I never notice people’s accents but I reread the second half of the main series lately!
Also totally preferred the show over the film but the book version of Everything is my favorite version!!

I personally prefer the film to the tv series, I like the actors better. I had read the books before I saw the movie, and the actors they choose fit what I had imagined the characters to look like when I was reading 😊
Omg I’ve seen that drive to the hospital soooo many times myself, I can only imagine how burned into your brain it is. I really hope this “fix” will last so much longer
So do I!! And sometimes when I’m driving somewhere my brain just goes into auto pilot and I just start driving to the hospital without thinking 😂😂😂

I was wondering if you might consider talking more about your hickman line? Maybe talking your experience so far. Obviously you don't have to but as someone who had a hickman line for roughly half there life (age 5-12) i'd be really interested in hearing about how it been for you, especially considering the age difference. (young children and fragile lines don't exactly mix so i was no stranger to repairs and replacement)

Yes!! Absolutely LOVE Shadowhunters!! I enjoyed the movie but the tv show is my favorite!! They were able to go into more detail in the show and the music in it was amazing!!

Hun, if you still take Subutex, a narcotic won’t help your pain. I’m pretty sure I told you about my surgeries..just a few months back, I had surgery number 13. A regular surgeon or dr doesn’t understand how this works totally within our body. The hospital pharmacist explained it to my new surgeon because I was prescribed 3 a day while in the hosp. I had no other narcotic! It just wouldn’t help. Anyway, I hope you spoke to your pain Dr to explain like I mentioned before. I say this coz I sure was yelled at via subscribers last time I mentioned this..lol

The books are obviously the ultimate, but I do like the series and the movie. I think the series is just that little higher in my opinion because they could fit more detail in.

Loved the Shadowhunters series, surprisingly more than the books. Usually books are always better but I have no idea why I just didn't like the books/ the way they were written... The movie was ok, can't really remember it that well but I guess it wasn't the worst:D

The books above all couldn’t put them down when reading them but the movie over the tv series because the tv series felt super cheesy!! Plus Jamie cambell-bower was a really good Jace (wayland, morgenstern, herondale) if anyone’s read the books you know why so many last names lol

I read the mortal instruments books but never got into the show. If anyone's looking for a new series I really got into Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Literally couldn't put it down and they're about to release a Netflix series based on it with some elements added in from her other series Six Of Crows

U need a double lumin Hickman. TPN is hard on lines. I’ve not had any problems with mine. It’s also a power port. Why no masks on in hospital?? And that nurse is dealing with a sterile field. It’s the law to have one on.

I live and work as a nurse in Australia and set up TPN/ work with central lines regularly. You do not need to have a mask on when setting up a sterile field over here. Every state, country and hospital dose things differently based off research and what they believe is best practice or hospital policy.
In NSW they have mandated that all hospital staff to wear masks, in WA that is not the case currently.
Qld nurse here, you don't need a mask dealing with sterile fields

I love the Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. I did not care for the film but never watched the show, I feel like the could have done so much better than they did with the movie.
I defiantly preferred the books, the tv show kinda messed with the timeline a bit but I definitely preferred the casting for the show over the movie.
I liked the TV show more than the movie! I was pretty when it ended.
I have just started reading the series and I am really enjoying it! And I think if I had to order all three it would be:
1. The books
2. The series
3. The movie
Amy you should tell them at the hospital to stop the bullshit fixing the hickman. Tell them to replace it with a new one so you don't have to go thru this shit. Lots of love From me aka Cole from Chicago!
