    I am a career nanny (30 + years) that just started baby sign language 10 years ago with all of my charges. It is a huge game changer! Help, in my opinion, is the sign that cuts down on frustration the most. My current charge is 17 months and has at least 50 signs and is talking like crazy the past couple of months. When we're out people can't believe how verbal she is. :) I LOVE baby sign!

    My 18 month old was taught to sign from early on. She signs and speaks.clearly 2 syllable words now. And she combines signs and words for longer or complex words.

    I love signing with my babies. My 1 years old can tell me, more food please, more blue berries ( her favorite) all done, and so much more. It's so much fun to watch her communicate. Its crazy how fast they pick up sign language.

    As I’ve mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been teaching my great-nephew asl. Singing animal songs and teaching manors. I didn’t think he was paying attention for the most part. I took him for a walk last week and my neighbor behind us stopped us to talk. And Alexander wanted to walk so he was signing walk. Then he told my neighbor away Andy my neighbor said he’s pushing me away. I said he is saying away in sign language. Then I said now he’s telling me he is done and wants to walk. The boss has spoken.
    ✌🏻❤️🙂🙏

    Just recently found out my partner is pregnant, maybe with twins, and we want to teach them ASL as much as possible (I'm slowly learning too). Not because anyone in my family is deaf/hard of hearing, but we do live/work near Galudet University! There is a large community here and it would be helpful to know so we can help people out. Also I'm getting old and one day may need it myself! XD

    I know that this is an old video, but I'm so grateful that I found your channel!
    I recently found out that my daughter's on the spectrum. My family has been learning basic signs while waiting on more appts and it's made a world of difference when she gets too overwhelmed out to use verbal words.
    I just sent this to all the aunties and uncles😊
    Thank you so much! Your lessons are always so clear and easy to understand❤

    I've been teaching (myself and) my daughter ASL and she LOVES food signs! I'd love to see more foods! Maybe some nursery rhymes or common books too (similarly to how you signed through the Lord's prayer in your church signs video).
    Awesome videos thank you so much for all that you do!

    I love this! I'm learning to sign as an elementary school teacher because some children can't communicate verbally, regardless of their hearing ability, and need other ways to communicate. I'd LOVE to see more videos geared towards kids!

    We have a TV that when idle shows Photos of my daughter, which she is fascinated with, especially baby photos, so she really likes the sign "baby". She's still non verbal, she mostly communicates with sounds and sign, "dada"= happy, "mama"=sad, and baba=tired. But she signs for food, more, drink, and sleepy, go outside, and baby just fine. She's also good at all done and book, and she's starting to get the hang of play. But nowadays she's really attached to the sign for baby, she signs it when she sees kids younger than her in the store or at the playground, as well as when she sees photos or video of babies.

      Yes this is the sign for bed. Sleep can be signed a few different ways. For the purpose of teaching babies, this sign for sleep is more iconic and easier to produce.

    Are you using ASL or "Baby Sign Language"?

  • @toriwalker7241
    @toriwalker7241 4 месяца назад

    I strongly disagree.. i know many parents who used sign language to communicate and stalled speech development of their children. Currently a friend of mine has a daughter turning 3 who still does not speak, and now shes at that point of frustration because the other children try to communicate with her and she can not.. I think there is a fine line when using it, and if your not careful it becomes the first language which is NOT widely practised in children.. If your going to use it, speech should be encouraged along with it.

    My daughter got on the bandwagon with this fad. My grandchild is almost two, now, and looks like an autistic child. If you d9n't sign to her she ignores you and walks away.
