Love the Wildwoods, never stayed at the Jolly Roger. Stayed in the Crest many years at the DiLido, which is gone. Moved up to north Wildwood to the Florentine. Hate seeing all the old places go. Thanks Joey.
@@deborahordynowicz2077 We stayed at the San Souci on year. Liked that place, that owned that we so nice. Place was immaculate. We liked the assigned parking spots. Had a reservation for the next year & they sold.We like the Florentine been there maybe 16 + years.
We stayed in the Crest at the DiLido for several years after the Holiday Motel closed. We now enjoy the Olympic Island Beach Resort... Also in the Crest.
@@tomboyd9053 We were at the Di Lido for many years with Rita & Jimmy. Then they sold , we stayed on with new owners, then they lost it Rita & Jimmy came back &sold it again to Kay after a few years she sold , now condos. Always had good stays there, our kids loved it ,then our grandkids . The old days & good memories.
I wish I saved the old videos my dad took of wildwood vacations! We always drove by the Jolly Roger too. Nice! Wow 1960 I was 4years old, on my 4th vacation trip there😊fun times for some 50 or so years later too. Memories ❤
great video. our friends used to stay at the Jolly Roger and loved it. We stayed at the Las Vegas (Mark I) every year for about 25 years. Thanks for sharing. love your videos.
We stayed there about two years ago when we met three of my Aunts down there for a get-together, and the pool was pretty big and very nice. Thanks for posting this Joey.
Thats back when cars were TANKS. you could bang your way into any tight parking spot; no problem. My cousins stayed there alot; we made full use of that pool. The joint has not changed in 60 years. The fringed beach umbrella's are a classic. Along with the old yellow bathing cap too. I was a small girl back then. We stayed on Davis Ave back then. Brought our dog with us too. WW summers were the GOAT... 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Great video! Judging by the cars this could be as early as 1960 as the newest cars are a 1960 Caddy and 1960 Pontiac. I'm sure it was a pretty expensive place for the time. An interesting fact about the Jolly Roger is the rooms that now face Ocean Ave. were beachfront when the motel was built. As a little kid in the late 60's I remember being afraid of the pirate on the roof!
My son's basically grew up there. A week in the beginning of the summer a week at the end. My friend and his family stayed there, we would just let the kids roam all over. Never had a problem
I asked my parents if we ever stayed there when I was young in the 60's and 70's and my mom said they wanted to but it was too upscale and pricey for their family budget.

Thank you...I love this!
Drive by it on our way to Icona. The cars were awesome! Do they still have a pool there?
The cars were cars then. Heavy ,well built, I remember some of them well. Had a 57 Chevy while in high school. The good old days.
Yes there's still a nice pool!

Funny thing is, about 60 years later the place looks exactly the same. 😂
