    After Nico feasted in the middle vs the Colts in Game 2, credit to the Jags for trying to take away the middle. Texans adjust by throwing to the sidelines and throwing deep. CJ can make every throw now that his shoulder is better.

    Stroud was my favorite QB coming out this year. He's not as mobile or electric with his feet as some of the other guys, but he also doesn't rely on his feet to bail him out which rarely works at the NFL level because defenses are just too fast. He wins with his head, and he's got the durability and arm to make it happen consistently. He'll make mistakes, but the signs are there that he can be a franchise QB.

      yup, love that the coaching staff his having him establish getting comfy in the pocket first. Maybe later he can start using his legs to extend plays a bit if needed. He has some quickness on him. Just glad it's not his go-to in his rookie season.

    On the TD to Dell if Stroud had thrown toward the sideline that would have shortened the depth of the throw; in turn, that would have shortened the pursuit angles of the defenders. Stroud threw the ball down field at the proper depth to lengthen the pursuit angle of the last defender. Stroud led Dell into the endzone with the throw

    • @paul19519
      @paul19519 Год назад +34

      We all know about CJ's ball placement capability: moreover, CJ's coach, Day at TOSU would always mention how CJ saw the entire field. I think I'm beginning to fully understand what he meant. Not only can CJ read defenses and body language but he also can see pursuit angles and it is these factors combined that enable him to excel at throwing WR open

When you are that wide open you don’t have to focus on keeping it out of db hands and only have to focus on continuing the play as efficiently as possible to score. If he had thrown it to the outside shoulder it would have discontinued the nice stride he had and curved it out. Also you don’t have to worry about the wr stepping out of bounds

    As a Texans fan this was a great video man we are lucky to have CJ and on that 46 yard bomb to Tank it really showed just how nasty he is as a route runner that along with his speed. Tank is showing why he going to be a matchup nightmare in the coming years.
    As for CJ despite playing behind a beat up O-Line he always show a level of maturity and confidence that no matter what he is always going to give his team a chance to win. Im happy he our QB

    Gonna enjoy this video a lot like I do the rest of your uploads. Question though, are you going to be reviewing Herbert’s game? Dude made some ELECTRIC throws and his pocket presence was out of this world. Would be some great tape on showing what the modern NFL QB should look like. 40/47 completions for an 85% completion rate… unheard of.

    Buckeye fan here. When in college, CJ was known as being super smart and a student of the game. Constantly in the film room. Then all the stuff came out before/during the draft that he was some sort of big dummy. Glad to see the people spreading those rumors are eating crow. Texans appear to have a good one. Go get ‘em, CJ!

    Stroud runs the ball to the 40 with 33 seconds remaining against GA and Ryan Day can't come up with a shot at the end zone or a 20 yarder underneath an instead tries a 45 or 50 yarder. Poor CJ he had GA on the ropes all night.

    Hey coach ive seen a lot of opinions that the Jaguars essentially came in trying to take the middle of the field away after what Shroud was able to do using WR1 Collins week 2. Do you think this was the case and why there was so many throws to WR2 Dell toward the sidelines in week 3?

    I still don't see nearly enough love or coverage from ESPN on Stroud. he is performing exceptionally well where most rookies would have crumbled behind an O-line of nothing but second, third, and practice squad O-lineman in. he was one of the premier rookie QBs, which normally get a lot of coverage, yet i have seen about 2 or 3 times the amount of coverage going Anthony Richardon's way.

    • @calebhoffman6368
      @calebhoffman6368 Год назад +3

      Agree! Also not saying Richardson is bad or is going to be bad but we see a qb play like he does every year or so where they can run the ball and throw some 10 yard pops to keep them out of trouble and people go wild. Only for 2 years later be figured out and take a drastic step back. Rushing tds from QBs are super over rated. And outside of the exceptions almost never Pam out

    Appreciate the breakdown, liked and subscribed. I'm so excited for the future of my team. There's more pieces in place than a lot of people give the Texans credit for. Seeing already that we have the biggest question of them all answered, (Do you have a franchise QB?) These last three plus years have been tough, good to finally be turning the corner.
