Stroud was my favorite QB coming out this year. He's not as mobile or electric with his feet as some of the other guys, but he also doesn't rely on his feet to bail him out which rarely works at the NFL level because defenses are just too fast. He wins with his head, and he's got the durability and arm to make it happen consistently. He'll make mistakes, but the signs are there that he can be a franchise QB.

On the TD to Dell if Stroud had thrown toward the sideline that would have shortened the depth of the throw; in turn, that would have shortened the pursuit angles of the defenders. Stroud threw the ball down field at the proper depth to lengthen the pursuit angle of the last defender. Stroud led Dell into the endzone with the throw

Then all the stuff came out before/during the draft that he was some sort of big dummy. Glad to see the people spreading those rumors are eating crow. Texans appear to have a good one. Stroud runs the ball to the 40 with 33 seconds remaining against GA and Ryan Day can't come up with a shot at the end zone or a 20 yarder underneath an instead tries a 45 or 50 yarder. Poor CJ he had GA on the ropes all night.

Shirts coming when?
ha. i should
Buckeye fan here. When in college, CJ was known as being super smart and a student of the game. Constantly in the film room. Then all the stuff came out before/during the draft that he was some sort of big dummy. Glad to see the people spreading those rumors are eating crow. Texans appear to have a good one. Go get ‘em, CJ!
They were trying to scare the Texans from taking him at 2!
CJ MY BOO BOO BEAR SUGAR PLUM!!!! LETS GOO POOKIE!!!! OROY!!!!!! CJ THE GOAT
After gaining Burrow to the Bengals it really is awesome to see what could be a franchise QB land with the Texans.
Definitely the best rookie performance so far since Justin Herbert
7:50 great observation.
I’m so happy for CJ
Schultz, the TE - he’s had some drops this season, and last season with Dallas too.
Stroud runs the ball to the 40 with 33 seconds remaining against GA and Ryan Day can't come up with a shot at the end zone or a 20 yarder underneath an instead tries a 45 or 50 yarder. Poor CJ he had GA on the ropes all night.
Appreciate the breakdown, liked and subscribed. I'm so excited for the future of my team. There's more pieces in place than a lot of people give the Texans credit for. Seeing already that we have the biggest question of them all answered, (Do you have a franchise QB?) These last three plus years have been tough, good to finally be turning the corner.
Love the use of the word savant
Stroud is really, really, really good. Really impressed in pre-season and carried it over to the regular season. Texans should be proud.
bless up GO TEXANS
His release is so smooth and quick
The touchdown to #9 was thrown behind him to avoid the defenders hands. Much more impressive upon knowing that
I told everyone in the draft CJ Stroud was the best QB in the draft. Bryce Young is too but he needs time like any other alabama QB like hurts or tua
He's a special player. Major arm talent with potential to be one of the best in the league before too long
in just 3 weeks stroud already making the kinds of throws that fields couldn't even come close to in all 3 years
My expectations for Stroud were that he'd be a solid-good qb for a long time in the NFL, but he's looking like he can be a star already. Great to see, I love the energy around that Texans team!
He is such a great passer. I miss him so much already at Ohio State
Me too. I'm on board with Kyle McCord but with this 2023 OSU team, it would be an easy championship if CJ were still here. CJ never had a defense like the 2023 OSU defense. Nor the complete health that OSU has this year.
Hey coach ive seen a lot of opinions that the Jaguars essentially came in trying to take the middle of the field away after what Shroud was able to do using WR1 Collins week 2. Do you think this was the case and why there was so many throws to WR2 Dell toward the sidelines in week 3?
I knew you would like this film
LETS GO
We need that Deshaun Watson video!
What are you thought on him being coached also by a rookie coach
The goat stroud
Thanks you Texans for actually coaching and developing stroud instead of ruining him like the bears did fields
Cam Ward Heisman sleeper vid??
If only the other Ohio State QB was this good
