I’d say he’s better than ANYONE when he’s in control of everything, if he can keep this control of his game all season he’s getting ALL the MVP votes this year
Josh Allen is literally a top 3 quarterback in this league and people still hate on him. When you're just that good, people tend to try and hate at every turn. Bro is easily one of most talented, athletic QBs we've ever seen in this league. And he might have the biggest arm we've ever seen, damn close to it if not
he'll get one, he's been great in my opinion, just gradually getting into how they want to use 12 going forward. his presence in the middle of the field already noticed though, big beasley.
All of Bills Mafia too :). Oh he will, and he will have a ton from throws from Allen! I can’t wait until they actually have Kincaid running routes in the intermediate area of the field, and eventually deep at times. They’re implementing a lot of new concepts and formations this season. That includes two tight end (sometimes three) sets and establishing their run game like they never have before under this regime. There’s a learning curve and Kincaid will get his sooner than later I bet!
Allen said (paraphrased) in one of the recent press conferences that he is feeding diggs so much because he wants to get the ball into reliable hands and reduce the number of incompletions, dropped balls, tipps and over throws.
Gotta say - as a Dolphin's fan, I was really hoping this game would go differently. Hats off to Josh Allen and the Bills. They haven't been getting enough credit this year due to the week 1 loss - they are looking VERY strong so far.
It drives me crazy when all these so called experts on ESPN, Twitter or FB try to ever discredit this man's unbelievable talent. Like he isn't elite. Are we on the same planet? We are watching a couple of the best QBs to ever play. We're lucky to be witnessing this.
These shows on ESPN etc should be required to put in objective film study like this in their segments. Not just sprinkled in here and there after entire segments of biased analysts ranting with weak narratives that don’t hold a water to what’s actually going on in the structure of the play.
Allen is the alien QB in the NFL...the guy is superhuman at times. No QB can match him when he's on. He's not perfect, but when he's hot, he's unstoppable. Allen needs some SB wins to shut the kiddies up about him lacking that MVP and SB win badge...that somehow makes Allen less of a QB than others who have won (Flacco won a SB). Marino never took a SB, he was arguably one of the best ever.
For the play at 7:10, Diggs even said he stole it from the TE (86). If you look at the route combo Diggs was definitely freestyling at that point and the throw definitely looks like it was intended for 86 initially. And if Diggs keeps on that drag across the middle he takes that LB with him, freeing 86 to be WAO. But when you're running hot, good things happen.
Been a bills fan since I was very young. there’s something incredibly special about Josh Allen, truly blessed to not only watch him play, he is always showing love to buffalo he is just a great guy all around. Great video. I've never been much into the technical aspects of the game but as a Bills fan of 50+ years, I am excited to finally have an incredible team on both sides of the ball since the Jim Kelly era. Videos like this show me just how talented these guys are and I think it's because each one of them believes in the guy next to him. It's a great time to be a Bills fan.
"Clown show at the bottom" got me pretty good lol. Finally Buffalo clicking and playing smart. Week 1 debacle is exactly the wake up call this team needed.
The thing that amazes me is on half the throws there is no 'plant' and wind up, just a little flick from about the ear that happens to be a 30-40 yard dart!! The ball never drops 6 inches, it's like it was fired from a canon!! Huge respect for the receivers for catching those!! 8) --gary
The defender was holding his had, couldn't get both hands up. Hopefully the film review shows that because that kid should be the slot over Harty but they keep playing Harty because he is "experienced".
The first TD pass looks very similar to one thrown against the Vikings in 2018. I'd be curious to see both plays side by side and see what's different about how their execution and what it says about Allen's growth

10:15 - I never played football, so I may not have any idea what I'm talking about... But that play almost looks like a QB run RPO of some sort. I know Allen loves to scramble, but it almost looks like he was looking at that gap, saw it close, and then just chucked it in there.
LFG. I can see from this breakdown what the O players are saying about there being improvements to be made. RB and TE "clown show at the bottom" at 2:47 is not the only example of the TEs in the new 12-personnel schemes maybe not quite at optimum yet. Go Bills.

I don't think that the Morse pull to the backside on the playaction was a bad call as he had no problem getting out there, my issue is that Morse was too passive, he let the DE get into him instead of attacking him. If he was more aggressive I think Allen can step into the throw to Diggs. On Diggs's 3rd TD, that was an adjustment to an RPO they like to run a lot last season with Diggs running the post so with the D expecting that, now Diggs breaks outside and an easy 6.
it was 100% because he bobbles the ball. he saw the blitzer, looked at the hot to throw it, bobbled it, knew he would need to do something quick, hit the curl
I’m only 2:44 into the video, watching the first throw you went over and I had to pause it and say this, in regards to the Allen haters. It’s so hilarious (sarcasm) how many of those fools try to minimize what Allen can do. Some of them (mostly ignorant internet trolls) say that his incredible throws are nothing special and any QB can throw them. They have no idea how difficult it is to throw the pass Josh throws on this first throw you have analyzed. If they’re so routine, which other QBs are throwing that exact throw, on a rope, moving uhh south west evading a defender and back pedaling, to a receiver outside the hash marks? How many frickin air yards is that? Why do I let those fools get in my head? Rent free lol. Oh and some will still say that he doesn’t throw anticipatory throws. Uh he’s launching the throw before Diggs even made his final cut with his back to Josh.
The throw to Diggs on the hook with the LB hot was semi-refined Josh, not hero ball Josh, hero ball Josh tries to go over the top to Knox on the corner.

13:24 - I was so sad Shakir dropped that perfectly placed deep ball. It was such a beautiful, on target throw, but Shakir couldn't hang onto it.
There's a lot of competition for best throws by Allen in this game, but that was probably his best one.
