This worked like a charm! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for the help! I have been unable to install updated gpu drivers for a while now, so I figured DDU was the best solution. But I was unsure about downloading the drivers prior to running DDU. Now things seems to be running better.
Thank you so much!!!
Nice!
An added step is disconnecting from the internet, says both Wagner and Guru3D. Something about Windows not automatically downloading new drivers when you uninstall them.
Also exclude the DDU folder from any anti virus as a precaution.
ANyone elses website isnt loading for DDU? Wont download at all?
i dont even see a download option when i scroll down
i having an issue where after using DDU, it moves all of my programs to my secondary monitor.
You said at the end to "Go ahead and run the pre-installed driver." is that a part of DDU or do I need to search and download all of the drivers?
You search and download your GPU driver (e.g Nvidia/ AMD).
He mentions it at 0:38.
How I have intel do I go on Google and it's just there ?@@GreekFireWarrior
My gpu isn’t showing up and my monitor resolution is so low now pls help
So if I already installed the new GPU (AMD) and I’m trying to uninstall the old drivers (NVIDIA) do I need to in the application change the gpu type from AMD to NVIDIA and then hit clean and restart so that it removes the OLD drivers? I feel as if I keep the AMD plugged in and hit clean and restart it will erase my AMD drivers?
Put the old GPU back in then pick "Uninstall and shut down" then take it out and put the new gpu back in
im in australia does installing it from EU or US matter that much?
na will probably just be a bit slower to download thats all.
are you actually MSI USA
how to i put the latest driver onto my desktop and does it matter if i do or dont?
just search on google the name of your graphic card, Example: my GPU is RX 580 8gb RADEON, i jus type amd drivers and it pop ups.
Just saw a video and the guy used DDU.
Just having a look at what DDU is and does.
I just switched from nvidia to amd do I just manually select nvidia then click the clean and restart button?
I am pretty sure yeah, i also went from nvidia to amd
sorry I think I explained it poorly@@alexcarolan8825 I already installed the new drive for Amd and also uninstalled the nvidia with add and remove program but i'm not sure if I completely cleanly remove all the files so is it okay to manually change the detected gpu to nvidia to cleanup old nvidia drive files
@@trace4425 It should be ok yo change but I also heard that there can always be nvidia files remaining somewhere. I heard Nvidia likes to make things hard for amd. But for me personally I just did what you did and it is fine for me
@@alexcarolan8825 okay thanks. I guess I'll just manually search and delete those files
This might help to delete the extra files, only heard about it yesterday

Why would anyone use this? Can't you just uninstall normally?
I've only ever used DDU when I swapped from an AMD card to NVIDIA or vice versa.
it’s for when you have issues with drivers. i upgraded to a 4070 super and geforce didn’t completely clear my old drivers when updating so now my PC will crash randomly due to GPU getting confused and not finding the right driver. so i had to use DDU to guarantee the full uninstallation of ALL my Nvidia drivers before i reinstalled the only the correct ones (and also got rid of geforce it’s ass)
Wrong... You need to run it in safe mode. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
you can do it without safe mode, you just have to repeat it twice. it's only recommended
@@maooui goodluck having issues then
@@WiseOne93 thank u i need it
MyWayOrThEHigHwaY kinda guy@@WiseOne93
Right not wrong you can do it in safe mode. They recommend it so you don’t have to do it two times. Both way is fine don’t be a sheep.
