There's a tip, dryer sheets, wrap up him & the clothes, in cloth then, wrap in dryer sheets, it gets rid of bad smells. I had a Trent doll that had come from a smoker home, the dryer sheets took away that smell & it never came back.
I’ve bought a several dolls off eBay from the 90’s or early 2000’s and yes, they can start having a smell and yes, the rubber bands get so gross. I have never felt bad about unboxing because I do my best to clean them so they get the love they deserve. I do understand keeping in box but knowing how much they deteriorate…. Yuck haha. I’d rather a loved and clean unbox than a sticky moldy inbox lol
Musty yet busty 😍 (I couldn't think of anything else that rhymed, lmao). He's so cute though! One of my grail dolls for sure. I'm surprised the suit didn't stain him at all. For the melting on the sleeve, I would try soaking it in warm water, a bit of fabric softener, and oxyclean. Color catchers too. I can't guarantee that'd work though. For the smell, he probably just needs a bath and the clothes need a wash.
@@dollthighs It's been safe with all the clothes I've tested so far. Experiment with it a bit and find what amount of each you're comfortable using. Just beware of anything that might peel or shed (like pleather, some velvets, and glitter). And I can't stress color catchers enough!
My absolute favorite Barbie Doll ever is Kissing Barbie from 1979! One unfortunate aspect about her though is she had part of her hair pulled back by a rubber band to hide the kissing mechanism behind her head and it's so hard to find the doll, even in the box still, without her hair messed up because on 99% of them, the rubber band is aging and gross and often broken. I did manage to find one online recently though, still mint in the box and her hair seems to be in perfect condition. I paid a pretty big dollar for that one but I feel it's worth it since she's my favorite ❤
I have in my collection. i got him few years ago and I debox him as well mine never smell I never undress him. I keep him on my shelf with my holiday Barbie and other dolls.
You have a great eye for rarer face sculpts. I can't find this one being used for any other doll in the data base. He's adorable. I love the smell of a vintage doll unboxing in the morning lol
The best tuxedo Mattel created for Ken, IMO. Elvis's wedding tux is a close second and Ricky from 'I Love Lucy' is another tailored tux. Stored dolls in garages and basements absorb moisture through the paper in the doll's box and mildew sets in. I have several, over 10, just for the outfits. The 'Look' model was a perfect chose. Shoes are pass. The tuxedo is free from the box so the odor will pass over time. Cute Review, Thank You

Making a suit is like this super complicated, frustrating thing that is also enjoyable? Maybe because I've only done it a couple of times? Not going to make any suggestions, but someone is going to know how to fix that melted band situation on the internet.
I just bought a 90s Barbie Reproduction. Hopefully, all i have to deal with is putting new rubber bands in her hair. Luckily, she's a blond my brunette ponytail had black bits from her elastic coming apart from her hair. I like to buy the older Barbies because they have better detail and I can get them cheaper then today's dolls. Also the orginal 1959 face mold is my favorite I just love her bitchy look.
@DollThighs I just open the box to the Barbie in this series. There were little specks from the rubber band that I got rid of. She looks good in the box especially after putting the mini Barbie back in place. Shock to learn that she is wearing stockings Mattel would never do this now of days especially on a doll with a long gown. She smelled like old books.
@DollThighs I actually went and took the old rubber bands out of the dolls boxes. I kept them in though. You think the late 90s one's smell bad I took two out from the 80s. I even washed the hair of one it was a dried up crusty mess. Going to take that one out when I get an stand.
