Another informative video bro! I am doing a ftmo challenge, they consider hedge as draw down. Have to be careful on a challenge. My other account I now hedge all the time, never use stops anymore! I love it!

Man this is such a powerful strategy. I have been trading for a couple of years now, I was hedging and didn't even know I was hedging or the name of it. I didn't quite understand the basics of getting out of a trade at minimal loss or even at profit until now. Currently have a small lot trade on now using this technique to practice not only the system rules I learn't from you Nick in another video but mainly the mindset side of trading and to remove emotions from the trades, sticking to patience, actioning only on alerts and only entering when the system rules are in position. Looking forward to posting some results from this strategy.

Very good video Nick. I ve got it now! Just for a few days I have looked my Trade going Bad, helpless, not knowing what else can I do. With hedge, as you said, we gain our confidence back and feeling that we are still in control. Not the mention that we could in fact not lose Money. Am going to watch this particular video over and over again until it sink, I've tried something like this out some months back, but I missed things up on the way, this edging increases your level of confidence.

Nick, I've been watching this video for some time now... When do you double your lotsize? If you are short 1 lot, and you hedge through buy, also 1 lot buy? If your short 2 short positions, 2 lots in total and you hedge through buy, then 2 lots buy hedge?

Question what if the scenario on the 3rd sell was opposite instead the price went up and not sell down? how do you manage that with the current 3 open sell position with 10 lots of each ?

When price is not making higher highs or lower lows on the timeframe you’re trading off of, price is in a range. It’s not too difficult.
@@NickShawnFX yes that’s not the case for me it could look like a trend like you say making higher highs higher lows but it’s still ranging
Is this a technique that can help throughout a funded account challenge? Obvs not with 10 lot as the max loss is 5k a day and i guess once a position get to 5k loss it closes automatically (is this right?)

i am using tradingview and if i say go long 1lot and then set up a sell stop to hedge for 1 lot, TV just cancels the original order. So instead of2 opposite positions I fiish up with none.
What am I doing wrong?

If you only had 5k - 10k to trade with and you wanted to start trading would you get an FTMO acct with like 100k and just use 1:1 until you made good profits?

Yeah in that case I’d say you’re likely going to blow the account, and that will always happen at some point. That’s why it’s important to withdraw regularly once the growth targets are hit.
I would simply say you need some good level of experience to have this level of confidence and directional biases. Don't try this if you are newbie. I hedge too when am just not willing to take the loses and it pays well if you know what to do
@@NickShawnFX I've been hedging for quite a while but I keep blowing my account doing just what you've just said. I have a small account of a 1000 but never seem to earn enough on my hedges to eliminate my bad trades so hedge again and again and then margin gets blown. I feel like I'm on the cusp of something positive but it's just getting over this last hurdle.

You should research this stuff bro. Nah not all forms of hedging is illegal. Its banned with specific US brokers in a given context. It depends which brokers allow it.

The platform you use provides fake accounts that look real where you can edit all the info...people use it to scam all the time. Can you possibly use another trading platform?
i know. mt5 is just so much easier to use than most of the other platforms, i've used them since 2016

All time frames work. I use the H1 often for most of my trades, easier to watch.
My broker treats my opposite trades as a stop so it will close out the position
You may need to find out if hedging has been enabled on your account because not all brokers enable it by default. For some brokers they may not even allow it.
Use a hedge enabled account. Look this stuff up on Google, it’s not a mystery.
If you are a trader from the US, you are legally barred from hedging. To make matters worse, US traders are not allowed to open an account at any overseas broker, which prevents them from adopting any hedging strategies in the Forex markets.

In 2009, the NFA or National Futures Association implemented a set of rules that led to the banning of hedging in the United States. So if you try to go long and short the same currency pair at the same time - you will end up with no position at all.
