Same here, I’m a big Rush, Tool, Dream Theater fan. Also a drummer, shocking based on my music taste right? lol. Ren has completely rejuvenated my love of music. First time I heard Hi Ren the only thing I could compare it to would have been some wild amalgamation of Eminem with Simon and Garfunkel.
Really looking forward to part 3. Be ready to have your mind blown. Can't wait to see it.

Ren is an amalgam of Meatloaf, Sting, Bob Marley and Eminem. A talent beyond measure.
And M Night Shamalan, Kubrick, Cillian Murphy, and a Greek statue.
Every Ren song becomes my new favorite! Ren is just talented, if you look up his talent it has his picture!! LOL!!! Wait till you see part 3!! His piano skills are on point just like his guitar skills. He is self taught! Simply amazing!

Ren gave us a little history lesson in part one and here’s the economics class. It takes a very clever and flexible mind to break down a complex topic in a way that everyone can understand it. To then do it using a well known nursery rhyme? And in the form of rap? Ren is a genius.

Glad the next one you came to is money game. Part 1 was their first one take. So much raw talent in that series from lyrical ability to cinematography. Part 3 is an absolute masterpiece

When I watched Money Game 1 and Money Game 2, I was overwhelmed by how "money" and greed" corrupt evenly across all people. I knew it from my 60 years on this earth, but Ren put it together so wonderfully and reminded me to keep both eyes on how I participate in the Money Game as well. Money Game 3 is a masterpiece. Most people miss the Money Game teaser video and then the Money Game ARG.
Money Game Part 3 is his most ambitious production yet, most of every other video was done guerilla style (begging forgiveness rather than ask permission, using found locations - 'Hi Ren' he only managed 4 takes before the landlord kicked them out) They actually had a budget and arranged a venue for it, you can find many 'making of' videos for Money Game Part 3.
This video was only released after an elaborate online collaborative puzzle solving game which you can still check out. Each video had a solution that when solved opened a new video with a new puzzle until you got to the 'Prize,' the penultimate video of 'Eden' then Money Game Part 3 dropped.

The Big Push, his former band, has a ton of great videos of them busking in Brighton, UK. Most famous one is "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop' (for the right one, look for Ren's red suspenders). You get to see Ren's singing vocals, electric guitar playing & overall live performance skills, & his bandmates are very, very talented also. They also have videos for Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, some Nina Simone..just so much, including original stuff.

I grew up listening to metal and hip hop. I like music with messages. There are a lot of similarities in the very different styles of music. Grew up listening to Suicidal Tendencies and Grandmaster Flash. There is still good music being produced today. It's mostly dyi independent.
I would easily say that Ren has filled the void left by Bowie.
Think about how much Bowie had done for modern music at Ren's age, and we still have more years ahead of us.

Yeah man I'm the same way I am not a rap guy I'm a metal dude like you rock and roll metal you know and guitar oriented music I like anyways anything he does I basically love you know and his rap songs they don't seem like the rap I remember you know the rap that's out now it reminds me of like 90s you know NWA stuff so I think you'll dig all those rap songs😊
The live version of this is good too. Just not as complete as this studio version, and the visuals in this really get the message across, so most people prefer it. Ren often does a studio version & a live acoustic version & both are always excellent.
It doesn't matter if you do not get into Rap - you will like Ren's rapping as he is phenomenal at it. As expected. Any style of music is good if it is done properly and Ren doesn't do anything half-arsed.
Great reactions. If you like the lyrical video style, try Love Music Part 1 through Part 4. These four are lighter, funny, and you'll get a taste of his rapping. And if you like the rap style then that's another rabbit hole all together! Anything from his band The Big Push you would enjoy like the one you already did. 👍
