The best thing about a Defender is that it’s one of the few cars, maybe the only one, which actually looks better with a few scuffs, scratches and imperfections. It’s the car equivalent of Shabby Chic IMO and Boris is a great example of that. You did a great job but what you might see as less than perfect is what I see as character and I think it looks great 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ive just done my bulkhead as mine was waaaayyy worse looks like youve done a good repair job i went with the older rubber vent seals and they seem to seal a lot better
Boris The Defender Rubber seals from a series Land Rover... they are far better. However in your case it might be better investing in a welder first. Not wise owning anything lr without owning a good mig welder.
if you remove the windscreen surround you'll find the top of the bulkhead has rotted out and that's were the water is getting in to the inside of the bulkhead untill you do this its going to keep going .sorry for the bad news iv just done this to mine .good luck.
Great work! Although, wouldn't welding repair panels in be easier? This is the next job on my bulkhead and I'll be fabricating the repair pieces and welding them in 😁
Do you mind telling me what colour paint you used? My 1984 Ninety looks the same colour and I’m trying to identify which blue it is. Thanks! TY for the useful videos!

Oh god! Well done for doing it!, I didn't realised how bad the passenger side was but the knot wheel sorted that out haha! OH really? Which are those?

Yeah I’ve had it off. It’s not rotten, but thank you!
Hi which liquid metal do you use. I am having a go at mine with jb weld but the 4-6 hours cure times a bit annoying
Great work...what is the color code...good to have it in can for touch ups

Did use fibreglass filler? I think you can get a metal type filler aswell theses days. Welding in sections is best. It is what it is. Looks better
Yeah I know that buddy. This is just preventative until proper measures can be taken. A new bulkhead is in order soon!
Hi, what colour and make is the paint you used?
Cheers
Hey, it’s the original Arles Blue.
This is a paintman paint acrylic
That finish is really good as you brushed it on. What type of paint did you use?

How does this repair look a year later ??
A tad of rust! I should have used red oxide! But it’s doing well!
What type of paint did you use and was it gloss or satin?
Where did you get the paint from?
