I'm really sad to see all that water damage done to your home. I hope the roofing company takes into consideration the age of your home. Tell them to learn from this and never leave a home uncovered if they can't complete the flashing in time. That was lazy on their part. I'm glad it didn't get to any of your collections. You are going to have to go to 100 yard sales, or church fairs, flea markets, estate sales every weekend from now until the snow flies after Christmas. Make sure everything is fixed, done up and sealed properly before you make the final payment on the roofing job! When life throws us curveballs we have to try and dodge them as best as we can! So glad you guys are back! I hate what happened with the rain. Roofers should have known this could have been a problem. We are in the US and had our roof replaced about a month ago. It started to rain while they were working on the roof and they immediately covered places they had taken roof and flashings off and we had no problems. Wish that had happened for you guys. I hope the fixes in your beautiful home don’t affect the original work.

I hope that it wasn't the person's family album. Selling off family photos just kills me. I bought two photo albums in video #220 for $5 each. You all would probably like them. That second sale's glass items were priced really high. They likely still have all of it. I am so sorry about the roof leaking. That damage just makes me sick. What a nightmare in any home, but in a historic home with lots of antiques, it is a nail biting experience.
Oh my! So sorry that rain mess happened to you. I would have been in tears. Are the roofer people going to repair inside to the age of the house? Modern repairs would not go with your home. It was wonderful to see you 2 back out at the yard sales again. Loved the Fenton peice! I grew up near the Fenton factory. Used to go on school tours at Fenton's in primary school.

I was studying for summer finals, getting ready to go to bed when I got a notice that my favorite you tube folks were on!! Too late for a celebratory BBQ so I'll have one tomorrow.. I'm so sorry about your roof, be sure to de humudify your house or you'll get mold. I had a water main break in my garage and it flooded half my house. I had a service come in and they removed all the bad sheet rock treat for mold and dry out my walls.
Great that you got to go garage sale hunting for treasres! Great finds. Sorry about the rain coming into your house! Its dreadful! If there is something one worries about is the tain coming down into your house. I too have had rain dammage a couple of years ago, and it was during Tropical Storm Imeldsa and our insurance didn't cover the damage! Good luck fixing up you damage. Bye!

I so feel for you guys with all that rain pouring in. My basement used to flood up to my knees and so much got ruined. It's frightening and dangerous with your wiring getting wet. Glad you got past that awful day. Like one of those days you'll never forget. But....the roof is beautiful! Yes ... Karen's dish is lovely....bet it also belonged to their grandma (like the watch). I also liked those little feather covered owls you didn't take. Also.... Did Karen ask the lady with the photo album if she knew anything about the family in the pictures? LOL years ago I use to sell Avon when I was a teen...I had a lab mix border collie puppy to care for.. I named her Miss Scarlett ...yes from Gone with the Wind...Sadly I lost her to cancer in 2002...I went on to rescue another Lab mix in 2003 I named her Belle Starr...I lost her to a very bad stroke in 2014...She was in a kill shelter...Love and miss them both like crazy..Belle had been abused and she was thin and scared of well everything..and sick..we had an awesome vet ..we got her well and she learned fast she had a life full of love..I was lucky to have found her ...She had only 3 days left to live..and they did not tell me until we were taking her home...I gave her a bath when i got her home.She was just a young pup I wrapped her up in a towel and held her in my lap to keep her warm..she fell asleep ...Oh she had kennel cough that went into an infection..She loved baths ...sounds crazy but true..and being sprayed by the hose..and when it snowed she would roll in it..She loved cold weather..LOL and she was great around chickens. ..We even at one time I had a mean old rooster ...Years later I still have a scare on my leg because of getting flogged...Well he went after Belle too and she did nothing and she could have killed him easy.One thing about Belle she did not like all men..But she was fine with our kids when the where little..She was also very protective of us..Why I had to warn others she did not know...She liked cats and other dog and horses...but strangers not so much...

Finally!!!. Grandaughter in a play here called Radium Gurls. Looked all iver my atea for just one piece of green uranium glass found now. But thought if you while i was looking. Glad to hear and see ya!😍
You need dehumidifiers going. For a long time. And dry out the house. I have two dehumidifiers going in my basement, which reminds me I have to go empty them. And I get a wet basement every time it rains. I need weeping tile but I’m not going to do that till I really really have to. We had three days of heavy rain and water in the basement was more then usual. I was emptying two buckets water everyday for about three weeks. Now it’s every second day. The insurance company should be bringing dehumidifiers into every level of your house to suck the moisture out. Geeez I fell for you right now .
so glad to see you back! I live in Central NY and we have to wear masks everywhere. My town is having it's 2nd annual yard sale event this Saturday and I'll be setting up for that. I'm sure there will be tons of salers looking for great deals! I wish I was a looker and not a seller. But I know I'll make a lot of money so it's all good!

I named her Miss Scarlett ...yes from Gone with the Wind...Sadly I lost her to cancer in 2002...I went on to rescue another Lab mix in 2003 I named her Belle Starr...I lost her to a very bad stroke in 2014...She was in a kill shelter...Love and miss them both like crazy..Belle had been abused and she was thin and scared of well everything..and sick..we had an awesome vet ..we got her well and she learned fast she had a life full of love..I was lucky to have found her ...She had only 3 days left to live..and they did not tell me until we were taking her home...I gave her a bath when i got her home.She was just a young pup I wrapped her up in a towel and held her in my lap to keep her warm..she fell asleep ...Oh she had kennel cough that went into an infection..She loved baths ...sounds crazy but true..and being sprayed by the hose..and when it snowed she would roll in it..She loved cold weather..LOL and she was great around chickens. ..We even at one time I had a mean old rooster ...Years later I still have a scare on my leg because of getting flogged...Well he went after Belle too and she did nothing and she could have killed him easy.One thing about Belle she did not like all men..But she was fine with our kids when the where little..She was also very protective of us..Why I had to warn others she did not know...She liked cats and other dog and horses...but strangers not so much...

You need dehumidifiers going. For a long time. And dry out the house. I have two dehumidifiers going in my basement, which reminds me I have to go empty them. And I get a wet basement every time it rains. I need weeping tile but I’m not going to do that till I really really have to. We had three days of heavy rain and water in the basement was more then usual. I was emptying two buckets water everyday for about three weeks. Now it’s every second day. The insurance company should be bringing dehumidifiers into every level of your house to suck the moisture out. Geeez I fell for you right now .
so glad to see you back! I live in Central NY and we have to wear masks everywhere. My town is having it's 2nd annual yard sale event this Saturday and I'll be setting up for that. I'm sure there will be tons of salers looking for great deals! I wish I was a looker and not a seller. But I know I'll make a lot of money so it's all good!
