I was just going to upgrade my two SB2000 with SB2000 Pro, then the dealer though I should consider the new Arendal 1S instead. I'm currently trying them at my home, and they are simply spectacular! I never though there was any life after SVS, but there is! The sealed 1723 models are the best subs I ever tried!
I replaced much of my electronic gear in 2020, including upgrading to oled, denon avr, emotiva amp, ps5, series x, etc etc. When it came to speakers and subs, I initially was thinking svs, but when I started looking into Arendal, I was sold, even considering the import tax and shipping cost associated with the products, which, if you're buying in bulk, is not insignificant. I went with a 1961 package, including dual 1v subs (rated at 550 watts each), 4 height speakers, center, 2 monitors, and two bookshelf speakers for a 5.2.4 setup. I've been super impressed with the entire set up. When watching Tenet off a panasonic ub820 player, the subwoofer response for the lfe effects in that movie are frightening. Truly frightening....but I love it. I had to limit output to about -23 db....any more than that volume setting and the shake in room and in other rooms was troubling me a bit, which is where the frightening part comes in, as I was concerned with mirrors and other things falling off walls in other rooms, it was crazy.
@George Azzopardi the budget arendals are thr 1961 1s and 1v subwoofers. They are 12.2 inch sub while this one in the review is a 1723 1v which has 13.8 inch woofer. So this one is bigger. Look at arendalsound and you can see the specs.
I have had the 1961 1s for 5 months now and i am very happy with it. I have had rel and some cheaper ones before, and this is another league! Very very good.
I have the older 1723 sub 3 and my processor insists I turn it down to almost 0 before it will even consider calibrating it. Love it, very smooth with music, but punchy and authoritative with movies.
I watched your review on the Arendal sound speakers sometimes back and I can say that am impressed with your review and have taken a keen interest on Arendal sound. They have some of the most beautiful and well built speakers and subs out here and it's good to learn that their subs can compete or even outplay giants like SVS. I used some good quality earphones to watch this video and from the rumble that came from this sub, I can surely agree that this sub is a beast. My next home theater project will be a purely Arendal sound system. I love good looking speakers that can perform. Good review bro and keep up the good work.

That scene is awesome to test speakers. I have a Sonos ARC, Sonos Sub, and Play ones, and when I listen to this same scene on my SVS Ultra Bookshelves, SVS Ultra Center, and a single PB3000, man! Anyone that comes to the house I show them this scene...the SVS blow the Sonos setup out of the water easily. I love my Sonos setup though don't get me wrong, it's in my bedroom, but the SVS setup is for the living room because it fills the entire house for me. Saving up to get another PB3000 and some elevation speakers too.
I have dual PC-2000's and they are amazing, in my room they are flat all the way down to 10hz. I bought a u-mik 1 and mini dsp hd 2x4 and had no adjustments to make.
