Not my usual musical genre, but I got caught down this rabbit hole a while back, Melanie is so good, you can't help but see the talent, she's transcendent.

Hi Beth, I'm so eager to watch this analysis. Oesch's die Dritten are really great and Mélanie is amazing : she can do everything with her voice. Their last songs are less in jodel style than this one but always so wonderful. Like you it's always make my heart lighter and give me a smile (very big one) when I listen them. If you listen the other songs of the band you will see that they can play music with everything from bass to cajon, spoon and even cheese grater. And Mélanie can have hoarse voice too (a little like in metal style) when needed. I watch the analysis this morning and thank you for the details you gave on the technical use in jodle and on the band. That's why your videos are so great. Take care.

Nice to see you react to and analyse "Oesch's De Dritten". I went down their rabbit hole many years ago. The family is great. And Melanie is amazing! So good. I have returned to their videos every now and then. However, it's been a while since I last visited them, as I have been listening to other music, from different countries, and the last couple of years I've been listening to a lot of rock and some metal mostly bands from Japan like Band-Maid, Lovebites, Gacharic Spin, Hagane, Nemophila, Hanabie, Trident and a few other's. And a few from Korea and China. Some of which you have already reacted to. I'm always interested in what you have to say. Hope you can react to some more of "Oesch's De Dritten".

I went down the Oesch Die Dritten and yodeling in general rabbit hole about ten years ago. I listened to different German, Dutch, Swiss, Scandinavian folk music almost every day for over a year. You should look up ewigi liäbi. There is a candid performance of it with Padi Bernhard and Melanie Oesch they perform it in a cozy pub. It always makes me smile.

No way, eh? Humans can't make sounds like that. She's an alien!
Seriously, that is just totally amazing. It's always so cool when people take some stupid thing we can do and turn it up to 11. Michael Moschen's juggling. People who don't blink for minutes at a time. People are just so dang weird and cool that, even after decades of watching them, I still haven't seen a millionth of what we can do. Crazy-ass species, humans.

The first video of theirs I saw was "Da Da Muh". I don't really speak German, so I reached out to some native speakers, and they had no clue.
Apparently it's some local dialect from deep in the mountains that differs significantly from hochdeutsch.

My work took me to Bayern (Bavaria) for six years yonks ago. Once I left, I determined never to listen to Polka again. My kids know this, so occasionally call me and play some as soon as I reply. I then sulk and ignore their calls for a few days. 😂

Devia ouvir e reagir a cantores portugueses de Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹.
Deixo alguns exemplos para ficar fascinada:
    Theresa Salgueiros (vocalista dos Madredeus)
Mariza Liz (vocalista da banda Amor Electro)
Mariza (fadista) estilo típico de Portugal (fado)
Ornatos violeta ( banda de rock alternativo)
    Sara Tavares
    Carminho (fadista).

Actually, yodeling started in the Appalachian Mountains as a means of communication between neighbors. It didn’t start in the Alps like so many people think.

Yes, we all remember the farmers and cowherders in the Appalachians from the 15th century and earlier, that would later colonize Europe and bring their North American cultur to the new World, called Europe. Makes sense, yep.
