Yep, I remember it did rain (with thunder and lightning) night before 9/11. I went to bed late that night as well watching the news. I miss my Twin Towers.
This is bone chilling stuff watching an observatory tour on what ended up being the final night of the World Trade Center, the admittance tickets at 5:08 could be worth a lot someday considering their historical significance.
Every time I look at these inside the twin towers on the day before or in the early 90s I think about jumping out those windows cuz that's high especially all the way at the top what I do it I don't know I wasn't there but I probably would at the fire was touching my back cuz at least when you hit the ground it's a quick death when you burn it's not so quick when you choke on smoke it's not so quick horrible horrible death rest in peace to all the jumpers rest in peace to all the first responders and everyone that was there I was in fifth grade when I learned about it
The sad truth is that even if they survived 9/11, they'd still likely have to come down. They would be unstable and at risk of collapse and need to be taken down. The only positive of that would be that likely more could have been saved as if they didn't fall, more time would be there to rescue people. But no matter what, the Twins were dead the moment they were hit. The fact they even stood for as long as they did is a real testament to the engineering of them. Their design gets stated as a reason they fell but it also in a way was what spared them for as long as they did. Far more people would have died that day if they didn't hold on and fight till the end like they did.
Imagine thinking "oh no, if the roof is closed I better come back tomorrow" 😞💔 I hope that tragedy had never happened. New York is not the same without the Twin Towers.
