@ popfugl: I'm using Maximus Arcade as frontend. The computer is an Asus motherboard with an AMD Athlon XP 3500+ and 1GB DDR2 Ram on it. This accomponied by a Geforce 4 mx videocard. It has a 19" 4:3 LCD screen.
Dave Filet at 8 min. what is that you are installing ? and what is the specs of the internals in your build if i may ask ? and btw finally a build video without metal as background music :)
Alex Krauel It's an amplifier (car-audio) to get a descent sound to the car speakers. It's an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor with, I thought, 4GB. Not sure which motherboard, don't think it really matters. 2x harddisks and a 19" screen. A low-end videocard.
Hey! nicely done! I was wondering what plans you used? I downloaded the dwg on the website but its not accurate where you place the wood in between the 2 side parts. Do you happen to have more accurate plans?
Hey Dave, Great video! I was wondering how one could create a template, or in your case, an outline, for the side panels. What better way than a projector. (Should have thought of that) :-)
I love this! I have 2 questions though: A: How thick was the plexiglass you used for the controls panel and is it sturdy enough to put up with 2 players getting quite competitive in mortal kombat? :) I'm considering 4mm but have no way of knowing whether that will give enough support, B: It looks like you stripped a monitor down. If so, how exactly did you mount the power supply etc and is there anything I need to know before doing so myself? I'm considering mounting mine to a metal sheet cut to size and covering it with an aluminium cover, as the one inside my current monitor is way to big and heavy. Thanks!
Great job! I would like the CPO design or template for me to adapt it to my bartop, which is very similar to yours! Great job again and I´ll post mine photos when I finished. Greetings from Argentina
Nice build Bro. Very Nice. Question though. Im trying to drill through the plexglass for button/joystick holes for my control panel, and it keeps fracturing/breaking. Im using a spade bit similar to yours. Whats your secret?
oh one more thing, i am going to hack a keyboard just like in this video but i dont know the final steps. i get that we have to complete the circuit between the 2 sides to get a key/letter, and i can do the soldering. but, did u put it all on a separate board? you did a great job, i would love a detailed video, start to finish of the keyboard conversion
hello. love the song...i would like to make one as yours.it is possible to send me the blueprints and the measurements for the cabinet. thank you so much. you make it look so easy but i know there was some hard work putt into it. hope to hear from you.
Awesome build, but I did cringe at the soldering. Otherwise this is a bada$$ system. I'm still planning mine and just got the software side working this past weekend (rpi3) and am thinking about the wooden part.
Hi Dave! First of all, thank you for your beautiful video, is a great help because I am starting the construction of a weecade with my nephew! (and we are newbie in all!) I would like to ask you, already required by pvdv, your plans for the construction. Can you send me it by mail? Thank you so much and waiting for a response! Sorry for my bad english! Cheers from Italy
You mean a tutorial on how to configure the software? I think you can find enough info online on how to do this. If you want the files, give me your email address and I will sent them to you. ps. I'm dutch. :)
Yes, I do have the files. Give me your email adress, then I will send them to you. I used Inkscape to create them, but I had to convert/edit them to an Adobe Illustrator file to get them processed to a printed object. So yes, I did the design myself.
Well done. Professional work! The monitor bezel is a round black sprayed plexiglass I guess? Well done again!
It's foil actually.

A bit of unsoldering braid wouldn't hurt ;) The work is impressive though !
17:21 the cat is all the money! i love it!
Um dos melhores vídeos explicativos bom vídeo🤗
Awesome work! Looks great!
Thx!

***** I've completed my first project already but I am sure others will find them useful.
Very nice work.
What frontend do you use and what kind of specs for the hardware?

I used about 3mm, but I suggest you use thicker plexiglass. 5mm is better I think.
That soldering xS
Erg mooi gedaan !
You video makes it seam so easy :)
Hi!
Do you really need this TAB and ENTER buttons? Are they used in MAME?
Can you use left/right instead TAB a fire button instead ENTER?

awesome. I've watched this your vid before and I think I'm ready to try a build myself. may I get the plans from you?
Sure, give me your email adres and I will sent the files te you.
Nice build Bro. Very Nice. Question though. Im trying to drill through the plexglass for button/joystick holes for my control panel, and it keeps fracturing/breaking. Im using a spade bit similar to yours. Whats your secret?
Paul Condon The 'secret' is not to push to hard and make sure the plexglass is well supported so it cannot bend while you are drilling a hole.
Didn't you had problems with the keyboard PCB, like the N-key rollover.

Great Video! How did you fixed the front glass? What size is your Monitor? I suppose its a 4:3??
I fixed it by drilling 2 small holes on the buttom side and putting though 2 small bolts.
The monitor is 19", it's 4:3.

thx a lot man!
I don't have coreldraw or adobe create... how can I get your measurements?
@fernan, no problems at all.
using a Forster bit would be better for plexi
What do you have running it as in hardware and what kind of screen?
one suggestion, use soldering paste (AKA Flux) it will make soldering easier and cleaner ;)
It was my first time on soldering. I do a better job nowadays. :)
But thanks!
hi wich kind of material did you use to do the black frame on the glass??
Hi! from which material carcass is made?
Awesome build, but I did cringe at the soldering. Otherwise this is a bada$$ system. I'm still planning mine and just got the software side working this past weekend (rpi3) and am thinking about the wooden part.
Bob Darlington I know about the soldering. I am better at it now. 😉
is this the same sizing as the weecade or modified?
very nice build, loved it, are you from UK Dave Filet
No Jonathan. I'm from the Netherlands.
Im making one as soon as my kit come through post from china
jonathan rooke Cool, keep us updated at: facebook.com/groups/194861703858251

Give me your emailadress and I'll sent the files to you.
Adis Bilanovic check your mail.
What's monitor you're using? thx.
TONBOX777 It was a 19" HP monitor.
@marvinrave: I used foil to make the black border around the screen.
hello can u pleas make a how to software video or send me the files! ps you look dutch

It's not that difficult. Just do what is in your mind. :)
hi, what AWG use for the buttons?
you can use very thin wiring. I use wires from utp cables.
Thanks, I have another question how many feet do you think I need to buy.
+pavel gomez 2 wires per microswitch and lets say about 40/50cm per wire. Depending on your button layout.
Thank you so much
Can't read this?
I modified mine.
@davefilet Thanx !
Download Google Sketchup, it's free!
@pvdv: I made my own plans in Google Sketchup. If you want them, sent me your email address and I will share then with you.
...
I know, it works, but thank god I do a better job nowadays. :)
Natuurlijk, geef me even je emailadres.
