Great job making those they look factory made and it's amazing how you synced the 2 together so each person can have their own arcade controls with joysticks as well as their own bar top arcade machine and screen etc. REALLY COOL!
This design is genius! I love the extra thought you gave to the external connector design to allow for either a simple Neo Geo controller, or interfacing with a "mirror" mini arcade setup. Awesome!
That is pretty damn cool. Just got to say it.
It's wonderful to see all these old arcade ideas forever living on in hobbies, both mini and full sized.
Damn man!!! Impressive as hell. I've been looking at bartops online for years. In the middle of doing my own. I'm thinking whats inside this one cause I wanna put a high end pc in mine and dang you've kept it real as hell! Got the proper Neo Geo hardware inside it. Definitely respect that hey. Awesome mate!!!! Peace from Australia!!
at first when you showed two player with an extra controller i was a bit dissapointed but then you daisy chained two machines together!! those things are a fantastic and the design is so ace!
This is a seriously impressive build. Well done love it!
One of the best examples of a home arcade machine, superb innovation
this thing is bad ass im really impressed how u connected the other one to it for dual player thats amazing man.
Picked up my 1 slot...its on! Ur build is an inspiration. Thx man!
this is exactly what i had in mind to build next. i have built a few cabinets, full size and mini, but i think this is what i can stick with. awesome build man, i love everything about it. i think i will be building a PC version and make it NEO GEO specific like this.
You did a very good job in setting this up I have to congratulate you on a job well done.
the build quality is amazing, great job.
Great stuff, looks like an official arcade mini mvs cab! Great idea to link the 2 together
Gotta say dude, it looks beautiful and very professional. I'm highly jealous
You did an Amazing job on these bartop machines :) wish I could own one love the Neo Geo games !!!
these babys are the best bartops i,ve never seen, congratulations.
Hands down the best NEO•GEO on youtube!
Yes, the joystick and buttons plug directly into the DB25, The monitor plugs directly into the DB25 as well. The audio on the DB25 plugs into an amplifier before going into the speakers.
Wow man those are some beautiful machines. Very nice work!
This is about one of the nicest builds I've seen so far, very very nice, clean work! Original hardware too -_^
Just needs a SLG and you'r set!
Very impressive and very thoughtful for 2 way play. Big thumbs up 👍.
This little cab looks great
I love these machines. Great job!
Absolutely amazing man! You sure have some talent.
Rough Estimate:
$100 Wood (melamine coated plywood)
$ 40 Joystick and buttons
$100 SNK MV1C Board (ebay)
$180 Monitor
$100 Artwork
$ 50 Sound Amp, Speakers,
$ 50 Gonbes Board
$ 30 Plexiglass
$ 70 Misc electrical (Power Supply, Marquee Light, Fans, AC Outlet, etc..)
$ 60 Misc Hardware (Hinges, Lock, Marquee Retainer, Screws, Feet, etc..)
$300,000 CNC Router
----------------------------------
$300,780 But you can save a few bucks by using tools you already have! :)
OK this is excellent. The 2nd cab for 2nd player idea is freaking excellent. I see you on arcadecontrols once in a while, but it's a shame how the forum members there treat new folks, so I won't be joining any conversations there ever.
nicely done indeed.
Aw such a beauty, that's retro soul. Love it
This is pure awesomeness!!!! I love the way you made it authentique as possible. Im planning to build a arcade machine myself, where can i make some decals?
awesomely achieved, nice bit of kit
There are some 3d plans in the build thread on arcade controlls. The link is in the video description: One of the guys on that thread converted it to SketchUp. I'm not familiar with that software so I cant tell you how good of a job he did.
it's a work of art....I am speechless
those are clean mini cabs, Nice job.
looks awesome great job I'm planning on building one similar.
Nice work, I added a few extra options and ports to mine, maybe I'll post a video on my next build.
that's a smooth set up. i did notice your complaint about not having an arcade monitor and i believe that an slg3000 would do the trick. i have one and it works wonders
awesome work, mate
Awsome work buddy well done
Wow, incredible work. Such solid construction and clean design. I've refurb'd one SNK MVS upright and one Z-back upright. Now, I want bartops instead. I'm so impressed with the 2-player connector. Was this an off-the-shelf part or something you wired up? Very, very impressed. Best design and construction of a video arcade I've ever seen. 5/5 stars
gorgeous craftsmanship.. and im a huge snk/neo-geo geek
gorgeous. Big NEO GEO fanatic
This is f'ng badass man... awesome job!
This is awesome man!
Nice work dude!
This is very cool nicely done !
hey man do you still make these?
exactly... the DB25 is just a means of getting the signal from one cab to the other... On a related note,My CGA-VGA encoder has dual VGA outputs so one went directly to the monitor on cab 1 and the other went over the DB25 to the second cab. Even though there are 15 pins on a VGA connector you only really need 6 wires to push the signal. The DWG file on that website only shows the physical dimensions of the cab. Sorry I don't have any wiring schematics!
Nice! I want to build something exactly this size, it's given me lots of ideas. cheers
And wow a $500 monitor?!? Man thats crazy. U don't see many people spending much on there builds. Suppose this is kinda different to the average build. Once again nice work!!
Cool stuff, man!
I just started restoring a full-size MVS-2 and I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of your fresh build here. Well done! Do you have a pinout diagram for how you replicated the video, audio and controls out of that 25-pin adapter? I could see a lot of awesome applications to this.
This is awesome! I want a neo geo mvs setup soooo bad!
Dude this is fricken awesome! I'm subscribing!
It's a Pyle 15" In-Wall monitor... Amazon has em pretty cheap $175 or so... Model # is PYLE PLVW15IW.
there are some 3D plans on the website linked in the description.
There was an official MVS bartop unit that was sold in a very limited quantity. It was a blue unit that had 2 full joystick setups built into it. That may have been what WebVManReturns was talking about. Personally I think your (UnstupidTube) design is much better and gives more of that oldschool MVS feel to it.
Loving how you set up two players have there own screen, I always get ugly when I get an elbow from the guy next to me. You should make these and sell them..
My congratulations from Argentina... amazing job bro ... 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow. salivating. really well done.
I have no plans on selling a kit. I line in Hawaii and shipping is too expensive from here. Some people liked the shape so I put my plans on the arcade-controls thread. It's a pretty simple shape, but the build is incredibly difficult... chamfered corners, hidden hinges, nested control panel. You can probably cut some corners and get a result just as good. I was only able to build it because I have access to a 5 axis router.
Hey I need help I have an arcade setup for neo geo but not sure how to get it to where when I turn my machine on it goes straight to game instead of windows xp
Really nice job!
This is amazingly authentic. I recently went to the one Castles and Coasters arcade in Phoenix, and this looks identical minus the height. Well done. i was set on getting a consolized MVS, but after viewing your video i really would rather build my own bartop MVS machine. A quick question though, could you tell the total cost of the project so i can get started.
Hi i just wanted to know where can i get the neo geo logo and controlpanel images. I want to print them for on my own project.
So cool!!!!. I want build one. where can I get .DWG file in order to use it into a CNC machine? thanks Al lot man!!! 😱😱😱😱
@johnnybroughton No... I actually have another MV1C on the shelf. I'm going to throw that in the second cab and get rid of the machine. I'll probably sell the second machine and a joystick on craigslist locally...
damn amazing work man
This is INCREDIBLE!!! 😱😱😱
Looks cool you still make these arcade toys
that look AMAZING dude! :)
did you put on a shadowmask, or scanlines for the screen for the natural arcade feel? :) I personally cant play without them :p
@airthrow Yea... I know! I would have loved to put a 13"-15" monitor in there but I couldn't find any new ones for sale!
simply brilliant! I want one!!
tried a SLG3000 but had bacding issues I believe because of the gonbes outputting 640x480 and the monitor upscaling the signal AND scanlines to 1024x768. trying other scan line generators to see if I can find something that works....
Just stellar.
You did an awesome job dude. Could you please explain how you connected the 2 bartops to communicate with one another? I have a guy building me two and he says he can't do it (they are hyperspin bartops). Thank you
Is there anyway for a system like you have( being able to hook up the 2 cabs for a player 1 player 2) possible with 2 actual neo geo arcades? i currently own 2 and it would be pretty awesome to have the ability for each person to be at there own cab, also this would allow for better team competition. just wondering if that at all is a concept that could be implemented into the actual neo geo arcades.
Very nicely done!.. Do you have the dimension plans for the cabinet itself, it would be handy for anyone who would try building one also. Please let me know if you are willing to share them with the DIY arcade community. Thanks!
Looks awesome.
Nice mini cab, thanks for sharing :)
Oh wow, that's beautiful! Great job! *wantsomuch*
Do you have the plans for these up somewhere? They look like the perfect set up for what I would like to have kickin around my home.
well a thought crossed my mind that you can connect the second one on a pc and watch movies and even you can play some mame games (or any other games)on it i want it how much is it?
Great work...
I know this is off topic but I have to say, the sound quality in this video is perfect. What are you using to record?
Is there a guide on your bartop stand?
do you sell these?? I need 2 of these ASAP but I can't solder at all :( smh
This is really awesome!!!
I've been looking for one all over the internet but can't find a single one for sale.
Cannot wait. A few questions if you don't mind: What is the total production cost? And do you ever see yourself making a "kit" sans the hardware? I think you could make a nice little business selling the precut panels and parts.
My thoughts when watching this video:
@3:00 This is the most perfect thing ever...
@7:31 THERE ARE TWO OF THEM????!!! TWWWOOOOO
Yeah that makes sense. Maybe one of those fancy upscalers with a SLG built in would work better? If scanlines are important to you I guess.
Regardless, top notch job!
Wow this is amazing
And you're not working professionally at SNK Playmore why?! This is an outstanding system you developed. Just simply outstanding. :)
i so want this. How much are you selling them for
haha love how you wired up the VGA plug... Jam the wires in the plug haha
Thanks! I actually tried the SLG 3000 on here but I wasn't 100% pleased with the output. the SLG 3000 outputs at 640x480 or 800x600 but these 15" monitors both have native resolutions of 1024x768 so the monitors interpolate the picture (including scan lines). so every 3rd or 4th line it doulbes the size and when you have the slg3000 connected there is a blank line. this would result in strange horizontal banding every few lines.
Great work
Thanks... really I only use one.... the second bartop is sitting in the garade ontop of a shelf!
That's crazy, I wish I had one of those
cuanto vale una maquina de estas ?
Hey im a big neogeo fan they look fucking amazing, really great job.
