Unlocked a formative memory. When I beat this in High School, nobody believed me. So I went back through and made a list of the level codes, and that thing circulated like contraband
I won a TI-83 plus, silver edition for winning a regional mathcounts competition in 8th grade. This and the rest of the “puzzle pack” kept me entertained during math class through all of high school lol
I love having the donation reader on the couch for some of the runs. I hope they do that more in the future. Also, Die Hard is a fun GDQ memory for me. So that sign is correct about Die Hard being the best Final Fantasy.
The mastery and grace with which you handily moved those blocks is **chef's kiss.** Sure the Elden Ring bingo was fun and your other interstitial segments were great, but I think this was the crowning achievement for runs AGDQ2025. Claps all around.
Somebody should probably let the GDQ video team know that this was misfiled by their Twitch side as "Just Chatting" during the actual VOD which would possibly explain why it STILL isn't up yet. The French restream had no issue tagging the game correctly OR getting it onto RUclips, but GDQ's still got their thumbs sat. Big shoutout to adef and whatever channel operators are helping out, if any, for making sure to preserve this run.
It is on the GDQ channel It's on the playlist "Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 breaks and interstitials" Because this wasn't a game on the schedule. In fact I watched it on their channel earlier today
@@GreyFireClover I have been scrolling their upload list for 3 days now looking and have not seen it, and in fact, I still don't. Do they have a side-channel for uploading things that don't fit now? Or have they... lemme check here, yeah, looks like they've resorted to posting unlisted videos without even bothering to fix the descriptions?
I didn't realize it live, but the "Sponsors" for Adef Games Done Quick really were such a great little touch to the production. This whole segment was incredible and the team should be proud of the work they did.
The TI-83+ Silver Edition shout-out had me go dig through my drawers to find the one I inherited from my older brother that included Block Dude and the rest of the puzzle pack. What a core memory
Oh man. I had all these on my TI-83 plus (not silver), and Fruit Ninja. I was so enthralled I decided to learn TI-Basic and make my own little text games to share with my friends.
This _so_ makes me wish I could've managed to get my hands on a graphing calc back in HS. Had to do so much more by hand and with a more chill TI-30XIIS (still got it tho) calc while thinking "Yeah, I know you're running Doom over there. Just wait'll I get back to my Gameboy at home."
We only had TI-82s when I was in school, so I missed out on BlockDude and had to make my own games. Which is a shame because this looks like a really solid game that I'd have definitely played instead of learning any icky math.
Dude ! That game brings so much memories from university omg ! I was so happy to see it run! GG ! So funny that the Password for lvl 11 is wTF hahahahah
I was too broke to get the other calcs… I never had the interactive games when I was younger, all I had was solving number problems and I was horrible at that game :(
I realize the answer may be "to fill up time on purpose" but in level 7 why did you keep swapping the same 3 blocks back and forth instead of just setting down the blocks that you were carrying over from the far right?
Because it would require you to fill up the full bottom row to get back and forth. Once you do that you make it so you couldn't get those blocks back out. That would leave you one block short of getting to the exit.
quip1: the speedrun so good its not posted on the host's page. quip2: I thought it said 'black dude'... dyslexica and bad fonts don't play well together.
I commentated this run and read the script Adef gave me, and yet I am still not quite sure if he can read.
He does skip two letters of the alphabet
You guys were hilarious! But I do wonder... Can ADEF write?
Unlocked a formative memory. When I beat this in High School, nobody believed me. So I went back through and made a list of the level codes, and that thing circulated like contraband
i love the part where block dude says "it's blockin' time" and then blocks all over those guys
And the guys say "Agh!! I've been blocked!!" When the block dude blocks them. That's dope
Seeing a host on the couch feels like I'm seeing something the viewer was never meant to see
It's even weirder when the host does a run later in the event.
I was so worried this wasn’t going to be anywhere on youtube so this makes me so happy!!! such an excellent run
It's like I'm back in high school. I have such nostalgia for this game with the TI-83+ Silver Edition.
Still have mine i stole from my chemistry class
Me too. I had the same calculator!
when he called out the ti-83+ silver edition my heart soared
16:46 One of the audience signs says "ADEF CAN'T READ!" 😂
Thanks for dragging me into this Adef, was a joy to be a part of the true pinnacle of speedrunning. 🙏😉
I had no idea adef was so integrated into GDQ and watching him receive all the hype was genuinely heartwarming!! Love u adef
adef is going to be chasing this high for the rest of his life
I won a TI-83 plus, silver edition for winning a regional mathcounts competition in 8th grade. This and the rest of the “puzzle pack” kept me entertained during math class through all of high school lol
It has been over two decades since I thought about this game. Neat!
I love having the donation reader on the couch for some of the runs. I hope they do that more in the future.

I played this game so much in math class back in high school, I didn't even realize other people knew about it.
tbh I really like the more low budget vibes of this, also really fits the vibes of the game.
The mastery and grace with which you handily moved those blocks is **chef's kiss.** Sure the Elden Ring bingo was fun and your other interstitial segments were great, but I think this was the crowning achievement for runs AGDQ2025. Claps all around.

it's not up cuz it was... BLOCKED DUDE.
I was at the edge of my 1 pixel seat
I literally memorized this entire game on my Ti 89 back in high school and I could beat it without looking.
Oh man this brings me back.
I love that the Ti-83+ let you program games into it.
I was not expecting this game at AGDQ! It surprised me because my console Vircon32 recently received a port of Block Dude too
Can’t wait for next year when we play Block Dude at AGDQ again! Can’t wait to see what new runners (or Adef again) come up with.
I didn't realize it live, but the "Sponsors" for Adef Games Done Quick really were such a great little touch to the production. This whole segment was incredible and the team should be proud of the work they did.
LOVED this "segment" and the crowd was ELECTRIC
The TI-83+ Silver Edition shout-out had me go dig through my drawers to find the one I inherited from my older brother that included Block Dude and the rest of the puzzle pack.
What a core memory
I don't think I've ever seen a live host on the couch before. I like it! They should do that more!
The face zoom fucking killed me LMFAO
Cathode Ray dude with the based dono timing
this was amazing ❤ BlockDude DELIVERED, ADEF YOU DID IIIIIT
This is the best speedrun I've ever seen
Also nice Kvelertak shirt adef!!
If I ever did a speedrun this would be it. In high school, I was able to beat this game twice in a 45 minute math class.
Can't get over that one comment from Dan Salvato @ 16:24
Block dude for ddlc++
This is peak gdq
incredibly fun to watch. great script. great glitches. great hype. pure skill. we love to see it!
I recreated the first 5 levels of block dude in super mario maker 2
When I was in school I would hold the calculator inside the desk and play the game from muscle memory
I didn’t even know this was happening this is amazing!!!
Oh man. I had all these on my TI-83 plus (not silver), and Fruit Ninja.
I was so enthralled I decided to learn TI-Basic and make my own little text games to share with my friends.
The meta and the speedrun tech havent changed at all in 25 years 😂
Hell done! You beat all the levels!
Yo the real @cathoderaydude commenting @ 12:50?! Lets go!
2:55
Tool Assisted Commentary
I assume the comment at 5:30 goes against AGDQ rules of decency?

Also I resonate with that level 11 password on a spiritual level.

Dude the thumbnail gave me PTSD seeing that page from the calculator 🤣
Now THIS IS A SPEEDRUN!!
A regrab is when you pick up the same block a second time.
5:32 For posterity’s sake: Hawk Dudah.
W Game. W Run. W Runner. W Couch. Perfection.
So impressive! I believe that trick on level 11 is block perfect!
I was waiting for this but GDQ never uploaded it
TI-83+ Silver edition gang, ignoring the teacher since the naughy aughties.
I spent so much time playing PuzzPack games as a kid...
god damn this is a nostalgia blast
Dude ! That game brings so much memories from university omg ! I was so happy to see it run! GG ! So funny that the Password for lvl 11 is wTF hahahahah
I was not there but I am watching the vod!
Was really surprised to hear Dan Salvato in this
yoooo ti-83!!!
why isn't that on the main gdq channel tho?
Pure cinema
that block tech on lvl 11 was next level
The blockinator
Holy shit I thought I was the only person who ever heard of Block Dude for TI
Unfortunately my TI83+ SE died many years ago so I forgot all about these games. I played a lot of Tetris and Solitaire plus these puzzle games.
I never knew about this game!
Math sure does look different than I remember it.
Hell done!
Yes chef! Wait, wrong run
Lost a lot of time playing this on my TI-84+ SE in hich school. This, there was a Mario clone for it, and Phoenix.
i thought you were MY speedrun block dude 😭
When he grabbed him and told him to never say “hawk duda” again, incredible moment, just a little 🏳️🌈
Great use of blocks, chef. Oh wait, I can't read the game title.
Yes indeed, chef!
Run starts 3:30
"I need you to never say that again"
Wade Wipple: He's gonna kill me
I was too broke to get the other calcs… I never had the interactive games when I was younger, all I had was solving number problems and I was horrible at that game :(
Oh my god it finally happened.. Did they get sick of you submitting? 😂
I realize the answer may be "to fill up time on purpose" but in level 7 why did you keep swapping the same 3 blocks back and forth instead of just setting down the blocks that you were carrying over from the far right?

adef is such a good commentator
This game may or may not be why I flunked Algebra.
Helldone!
Gamer Adef
yo shoutouts to Kvelertak
What the hell is that the game from my calculator!?
Do fall down next
poggers
I really enjoy the fake sponsors you used for the vod
They made 2d minecraft
i love how much of a shitpost this entire run setup is lmao
quip1: the speedrun so good its not posted on the host's page.
quip2: I thought it said 'black dude'... dyslexica and bad fonts don't play well together.
This is surprisingly non-autistic for being a speedrun event in 2025. Almost feels like 2015 or something.
