The man has to be one of the top 10 drummers of the last 20 years.
Mark Arandjus You must not know many drummers.
Eric Donnell metal drummers*, pardon, I should've been more specific
+Mark Arandjus I am yet to see much proof of it. He might indeed be talented but what we hear mostly is bass drums and any half way decent drummer can do this.
Any half decent drummer can write and play like Chris Adler, you say. So I guess most drummers are then also fit to play in Megadeth, are they?
+Mark Arandjus I said play. I did not say anything about his writing. Why not? Pro drummers have to start somewhere. I just do not hear anything exciting in his playing. I have spoken to other drummers who also say I could play that so we are inspired when we hear something and say what is happening there? For me Chris Adler just does do that. Travis Orbin on the other hand does do that. Look different drummers will focus on different things but I have never been turned too much by 16th note bass drum patterns and even triplet bass drum patterns. I like style and finesse so drummers like Thomas Pridgen or Ray Luzier for example. If you are a Chris Adler devotee fair play to you but I think those that are will end up limited. He does not have the variety of a great drummer. He may do in time but not yet.
Chris Adler IDOL !!!
If anyone is interested one drummer I am really enjoying listening to at the moment is Mario Duplantier. He knocks spots off nearly every metal drummer going. Now that is what I call impressive.
A Misfit you ever listen to Cameron Losch from Born of Osiris? As a drummer I find this dudes techniques pretty impressive.
Josh Rinlee I will have to check him out. I am not big into metal but occasionally friends who know my musical background will send me stuff the like and say listen to this like Duplantier who I was immediately impressed with. Given what happened with Chris Cornell I have been watching a lot of Soundgarden and Matt Cameron is simply brilliant and SG move through different time signatures with ease though not sure they will get much love on this thread as SG were maybe a little too alternative for the Lamb of God crowd but if you don't know him check out Badmotorfinger.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer maybe in terms of stamina and speed, but in terms of creativity, I'd say Mario is superior to those drummers
Well spoken and seems like a really nice guy!
yeah he's working to become better and it looks like he spends a lot of time trying to get better. Love it.
It's awesome that i've devised the same warmups/exercises for practice that he's describing here. Granted it doesn't take much imagination to come up with that, but damn, I'm on the right track
He looks like a mystical wizard \m/
This man is a beast!
Pure hard work.
he's the only metal drummer i like because he doesn't sound like anyone else and he pretty much runs lamb of god
LOVE that snare so much I went and bought it 🤣 same aquarian heads too
lefty on a right handed kit and is still one of the best drummers out there right :)
Drumming God right here!
very helpful, thank you!
Loved this. Thanks a lot!
Too many metal drummers forget about the hands and think drumming is all about the feet. They should take a leaf out of Dave Lombardo's book as not only has he very fast feet but he also has impressive hand speed and also plays rudiments with his hands.
It's because hand speed is easier to achieve than foot speed. As far as being on time, that's another story.
Leaf?
...Yeah your comment's a little anecdotal (I think) a better way to put it would be: I think many drummers are unbalanced or, drummers should strive to be balanced. I know this comment is(at the time of me writing this) 2 years old But, maybe someone reads this and can use this framing which is more of a positive criticism than a dry sandpaper statement that sounds like your being dismissive of other musicians talent.
Awesome drummer!
Thanks bro.
omg the look of this video is sickkkkkk
Creative and Musical drumming Genius
Maybe he recylces patterns , but i think that he puts every pattern exactly in the right place and makes them work very well . He is of course not the only one who has trademark fills/ grooves ... Where is the problem ? The creativity is of course in writing down something no one did before . As for cimbals ... Why you say that ?
3:40 "Not known for the hands"
Pretty sure Blood of the scribe was recorded at this point.
Sure... it is not fast in terms of blast beats or anything, but it is fast as fuck anyways...
Blood of the scribe is my favourite LOG track actually. The song might sound simple at first but the technicality of the song is crazy af 😅
love the camera position.
ALL RIIIIIIGHT!!!!
He has more independence on his feet than I do with my hands lol...
Truly, a successor to the Niel Peart throne!
now i need few more months to practice that warm up :P
i loe you lamb of god
The important thing is , He being a professional also do simple and Basic warmups . So it's important for every artists to practice and do warmups .
nice
Ahahahahahahahahah!! 4:23
"By accident comming up with something that was rather unique and i'm trying to learn how i did that"
LOL!!
I Use Par-addles in my Drum lesson with Ron Hurst famous drummer
@musadrumz hes saying that u need to alternate the 1 ...2 beat. say u start with the 1 on ur right foot, and the 2 on ur left. once u get done with the rythme start the next beat with the 2 on the right foot instead of the 1.
yea but Chris actually said somewhere that they were his influence... dunno where it was, maybe on confessor' site
3 dislikers have no ability to play and understand the drums at all.
hey is there a way i can talk to chirs and show him the drumming i do here in Canada?
@TehSheepNinja Behind his beard is another leg kicking the bass and another hand playing the kit XD
He uses 5AN's which is 5A sticks with Nylon Tips
thumbs up for his awesome beard :)
with great facial hair comes great ability \m/
FUCK YAAAA
2 dislikes for such a nice video. definitely they came here to piss people off.
chirs is a god!!!
@TehSheepNinja This belongs in the top comments >:D

What size of those Promark?
Sorry guys! I meant he does not play triplets on this video :-) he does play it on songs though!
What happens when he shaves his beard?
whats that thing left next to the drums?^^
Dude 5 minutes at 155bpm doing 16th notes is already very challenging
Beard of God .....:)
no metronome? badass
its his sig model
Those tattoos are on his shirt I think...but he does have real ones though. :D
Sounds sorta like this, "Naaaagnagnagnagnagnag Biiiiiiiiiiiiitch BitchBiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiich".
ZeroDE350 Jeff Dunham? Hahah
They don't play with click live? 😮

Dat beard o.0
Useful informations for me. I go to practise this stuff on legs immediately :) Thanks a lot for this video. I was waiting a long time for this :) check out my cover of Reclamation if you like :) keep playin
chris is the only one santa claus that can play METAL DRUM well..lol
Is this the guy from Lord of the rings?
Are you the diver that went nuts on discovery?
They're fricken tight for not using a click live
@brienooy maybe like that ? hahahaha
you're insane man, lamb of god always plays triplets
@HarmonicaHerald naa, any good drummer can practice whitout metronome
I wonder how much he charges for an hour lesson 1on1.....50? 100?200?
I have it, it doesn´t... Maybe the tattoos? :D
pretty much every professional drummer warms up before they play
What he plays loads of triplets.
185bpm for 5 minutes?! I can do that but for 30 seconds...
confessor "condemned" look it up
You're not getting the concept here... listen to the kind of playing Confessor has and compare it to lamb of god drumparts, he should atleast credit Confessor as his inspiration, but no...
He’s playing Condemned at the beginning of the video
Not to sound like a dick but I'm pretty sure that the confessor drummer isn't the only drummer in the world who can think of those beats.
@musadrumz
RLRR LRLL LRLL RLRR
When Chris talks I hear:
Geography teacher
Science professor
When Chris plays:
🙌👏🙌✊🤘🏼🤘🏼
alien?
funny that he does not play any triplets =)
es mejor que christian coma y joe jordison
the beard is long with this one
My favorite drummer
But its amazing how vanilla white guy he sounds lol. Just not what I was expecting.
that is not true, try seeing Vsauce: Will we ever run out of music?
ruclips.net/video/DAcjV60RnRw/видео.html
At no point in this video did he claim it was his ._. wtf are you talking about? He stole nothing, it just showed you a clip of him playing that beat.
Lamb of god lost their heart and soul when they lost Chris Adler.
There is no such thing as a "copied" beat. Everything has been done before at this point.
Someone is on their menstrual cycle...
Great drummer but, as he kind of admits, his handwork are pretty boring. All pretty much RLRLRL around the toms for each fill. but he's improving incredibly fast.
how about he lose his beard ?
dude,he stole that 1st beat from Steve Shelton of CONFESSOR!!!
He could ve played a little anyway! Worst teacher ever
Overly warmed up
Hawt!
