My dad(who’s a drummer) had this on dvd when it came out that we got at a local music shop back home in Santa Cruz. I was 12 in ‘05 and I would watch it a lot and get pumped to go up in my room and play my kit! Brought back lots of memories!
Art does a pretty decent job, but Chris was the pillar of the band. The guitars and riffs are always top notch but his drumming is what I dig the most when I blast it in my car.
I remember watching this as 13-14 year old in 2005-2006, just started to play drums, being mindblown by Chris's playing and trying to emulate everything he did. Even his assjumping on the throne. Love it.
I am a Guitarist but love drums and to find out Chris was only playing the drums for 10 years when ASHES OF THE WAKE was released makes me really glad i switched to guitar back in 1980! His playing is devastating for a guy that only has 10 years into it on that record!😲😱
Damn. Didn’t realize he learned so late! One thing I’ve always loved about his drumming is how clean it sounds: not just timing but volume. Each stroke sounds the same. He always looks so relaxed. I bet it was learning to play along with the Aerosmith cd rather than starting with a drum pad tbh
People that hear this on the radio and just think theirs no rhyme or reason to it but then they see the band play it with their OWN two hands and feet and voice and then the look on their face realizing that this is on a whole other level. This is geniuses at their craft
When they got done playing "now you've got something to die for" immediately in my head the beginning of "the faded line" started and I had to pause this and go listen. Same thing would've probably happened at the end of "blood of the scribe" but the video ENDED HALFWAY THRU THE SONG! BOOOOO!

I've watched this set individually a few times, but it's the first time I've heard that they've never played Blood of the Scribe live before. It's an absolute beast, and such a shame that they don't.
I learned guitar at 13 and learned the very basics of drumming shortly after, but never had my own kit, so I’ve only played a handful of times. I’m 24 now, idk if it’s too late or not, and I don’t really care. I’m gonna do my best to do what I can. This is very reassuring to know he was around my age when he learned. I know that’s never gonna be me, but hell, at least I’m already better than Lars
It's my favorite too, but the first I heard was Remorse is for the dead. At first I had a hard time with the vocals but it grew on me and I started listening to the other stuff. Now I listen to them pretty much daily.
I don't play Metal.. but Chris is one of my biggest Inspirarion to play .. I also started at 22 23 years old.. I am still not that good but I am trying to be better .. 😌.. I love this video so much .. ! The video did not end properly.. I had the whole video saved in my computer ..
man awesome drumming from an amazing drummer. Chris if I could be half as good as you are would be a dream come true. love you man wish you were still with lamb of god.... although the new drummer is another amazing drummer.
One of my favorite things about him is how comfortable he looks and his backbeat strait up looks like a whip. Love it. I wanna know what the trashy cymbal he has about 10 O’clock high. It sounds like the devil exhaling. I want one.
as a guitarist, let's take a moment to appreciate how flawlessly Willie plays these songs.. what a legend
fucking beast

yes
That last riff from Hourglass is so freaking hard.

Chris Adler is extremely intelligent. You can tell that thoughtfulness translates to his success as a drummer.
His drumming on Protest the Hero’s “Volition” album really let him show off his chops. No idiot can lay licks like that!
Lamb of God is not the same without you :(
facts unfortunately
Agree 100%......
But both their new singles are pretty dope in their own way. Art has his own style and Chris has his own. No drummer is better than the other.
@@ayusharipirala3121 is true, but sadly art has to play many chris' songs so this is so weird to listen
Where Chris Adler now??

Meee
Here I am
I bought this DVD when it came out. Been a fan since 02
Maximus Gigantos still good in 2020
Yup
He’s a great speaker! Lol
Yeah that surprised me! He’s an excellent orator

Most metal drummers these days just copy what the guitars are doing. I like Adler because he’s more than just that. 💪
let's hope he never washes the pants he wears, because you do NOT want this guy to lose the dirtiness in his pockets!!!!
Granted but actually very few end up being able to pull that off. He kicks ass and stays on tracks like no other though
Why is that the measure of a metal drummer? Just play whatever you think the song requires.
Chris did his homework, he listened also Billy Cobham and such as opposite to some others.
I'm so sad about that he's no longer a member of Lamb of God these days, Chris is one of my inspirational musician for being me as a drummer.
I feel that Art Cruz is one of the only viable replacements but I'll always love Chris' feel and dynamic
Art is a top drummer but Chris was an integral part of LoG. I hope there’s no ill feelings with him and Willie.
Why he left

Goodbye Chris. You will always be the best drummer in Lamb of God
I didn't intend to lose interest in lamb of God when he left but I did. I guess his drumming is what drew me to the band.
His snare helped them have a more unique sound his replacement is killer but his drums don't sound very good
Damn. Same.
Art is a great drummer, but it indeed just isn't the same.
So you just never liked log....simple

Blood of the Scribe is one of the best riffs ever written. Guitar and Drums.

This is very inspiring! I cant beleive he began drums around 20yo!! Epic

Chris Adler was one of my main drumming idols when learning double bass. I always wanted to emulate his sound. Glad I got to see him live in 2007!
