Underrated, under appreciated. LIVE has been dissed by many, yet I find their music to be spiritually uplifting without being sanctimonious and preachy. I really like this band.
Tiny piece of trivia for all who aren't Brazilians: in the early 80's, tobacco ads were still allowed on TV, and a popular brand called Hollywood had a series of ads that were nothing but people practicing extreme sports while an awesome song plays. This was one of them. Others were "Breaking All The Rules" by Peter Frampton, "If Looks Could Kill" by Heart. There were about a couple dozen of these. We called the songs "Emphisema Hits".
The vocal track on this sounds like it's coming from someone who's been in the business for 20 years- only better. "Mental Jewelry" was such a fantastic album, still my favorite - even over "Throwing Copper", which is another fantastic album. It's always easier to like a band before they hit the big time, but also I was 27 and in Boston back in the good ole 90's. Can't live in the past but sure nice to visit. Thanks so much for posting the original vid too!
I'll never forget hearing this the first time. The eighties had just ended. My husband put this cd in the car stereo and I was just staring at the car stereo. Amazing. Played it again and again. He had also gotten Pearl Jam and Nirvana which was new to me. Loved them all, but I kept playing this CD over and over.
This is the most relevant song that they have ever written. It speaks to everyone everywhere at every point in their life at every point in time. Living life on the riverside/river side is painful because you give away life by disconnecting yourself from existence. And unless the monastic life is really what humans were meant for then it is a living death to watch and not do or participate.
They are back!!! And I am already giving myself an intravenous dose of LIVE for 2 days straight!! Remembering why they were one of my favorite bands!! One of the best produced in the US, one of the most underrated (aside from Throwing Copper), and one of the best bands in terms of individual musicianship. Why I am in this particular song; because you have to go in order to enjoy this reunion!!
song of the day! live was my first concert ever! yay! no pain going on in the riverside at all- just back in the riverside and it's the only song with the "riverside" in it.....back in the 06878!!
Its funny to me that when Live started they were some bowl cut wearing, polo shirt sporting college band boys espousing Jungian philosophy like 20,000 other college bands and then two years later were the biggest alternative band in the world for awhile.
2019...
✨😁✨ 2020
That bass line is frigging ridiculous. Amazing
This is by far one of THE best songs of all time!!!
May be the best. Damn this shit is so good
Heather Bowen yes it is!! 💥
They got many good songs!
Ed Vargas Yes they do! Simple Creed is another one that I love ❤️
No es una canción ... ES UN HIMNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤💯

Amo esta música!! Bons tempos que não voltam mais!! :)
I remember this song being played on the radio back in 1995. I Also remember watching the video when i was in high school. I miss the 1990's.
No group out there can ever match Live- the intensity of the singer and the songs' construction - fabulous!
I could think of a lot of bands. But they are awesome.
No meus dramas de adolescência, coloca no volume máximo. Relaxante!!!
Quantas coisas eu passei ouvindo esse som!
Época boa ... lá em Sumaré/ São Paulo ... xdd

Good songs never die.

Ultraleves.

Damn I forgot how badass this jam is.

I love Ed´s voice. So young and so talented ( back in 1991 )

Muiiito show essa música. Live é simplesmente fantástico...

One of the best rock songs ever and one of the best bands. Insane energy just runs you over like a mac truck!!!! Eddie and the boys, insane!!!!

Seriously one of the best songs ever. From vocals to lyrics. Fantastic
This song was my coming out song. I love it.
Excellent. x
Isso que é música
foda, saudades dessa época
Eu tinha 16,saudades!
Fez parte da minha juventude, top d+
WTH! truly one of the most under rated bands of all the "90s". this shit is still timeless in time . period
I've loved them from the beginning!!! I haven't seen this video in a long time!!
Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper were beast albums in the 90s. They're good enough to make me forgive Secret Samadhi.
Come on man, Lakini's Juice kicked obscene amounts of ass
That was A really good Album as well. 'Freaks' is the standout song in that album.
Love, love, LOVE this song! The lyrics are incredibly spiritual without being preachy. Made me a Live fan!
Eu procurei por muito tempo essa música
Cara os anos 90' foram demais
fell in love with LIVE thanks to this song and have loved them ever since...18 years!!
Adoro essa música!!!
Bass line of this songs rocks! Digging live since the "90s

Shut an awesome band and an amazing song. The intensity, passion and effort is amazing!
Primeiro sucesso da banda aqui no Brasil. Ahh anos 90 que saudades....
I just became aware of Ed's solo stuff and Live's "new" stuff. Had to listen to this to redeem him and them with how bad ass Live used to be.
song of the day!
live was my first concert ever! yay! no pain going on in the riverside at all- just back in the riverside and it's the only song with the "riverside" in it.....back in the 06878!!

The video could've been up-to-dated, remastered. It's precious. A musicmark.
