Just what I needed for my over a decade stomach issues. My partner would always put cabbage in our recipes and that really helped calm the noise in my stomach. Also green juices.

thank you for this video - I love it! I was wondering what is or is there a difference between kombucha & prebiotic sodas?

Most sodas that are marketed as “prebiotic” are not enough to make a positive difference. A good Kombucha is much much better.

Hi Becca, Do you know if you can make yogurt with lactaid for lactose intolerant kids? Thanks.

so I have a jersey cow and I pour the warm milk that is about 100° directly into the instant pot after milking. I just sprinkle a little yogurt starter on the top or a greek yogurt container from the store and stir it around and hit the yogurt button for 12 hours. Works every time. I strain it through a nut milk bag at the end just to make it a little bit thicker because we like Greek yogurt. Also if you hand blend a little bit of regular milk back into the yogurt it taste exactly like the store! You don't actually need to pasteurize the milk first. 😊

Do you put the yogurt container in the yogurt maker?

I either use yogurt starter or i just buy a tiny yogurt from the grocery and use it as the starter. I normally do a gallon of milk at a time so I just dump the whole thing in there and stir it in. I use an instant pot.

Thank you for this video I have had lots of gut problems lately. I ran into a lady who sells probiotics called natren, she shared that kombucha is actually causing people a lot of gut problems due to so much yeast. I noticed that when I drink it my stomach will cramp up pretty bad. May be worth looking into.

Aw the little guy helping at the end is so cute ☺️
we go through tons of yogurt. You’ve made it seem so easy. I’ll be picking up some plain yogurt for a starter!

We do the kombucha too. But I am afraid of drinking much during pregnancy. I always have one glass per week. We do not do the second fermentation because I have heard there is an alcohol and I do not want to drink it during pregnancy. Also my three years old loves it so I do not want to give him something with alcohol.

Do you have any recommendations for supporting the gut biome for both mom and baby after birth due to needing to be on antibiotics for group B strep during labor?

Oh and try making sauerkraut with a red cabbage. We like it so much more than the green.

This video was very informative. I’ve just recently learned about fomented foods and I’m very interested in making sourdough bread, but it seems very overwhelming. Could you possibly do a step-by-step video on how to make the starter and the sourdough bread?

We love sauerkraut and yogurt. I have a question though, yogurt gives my daughter migraines, is there anyway to prevent that other than not eating yogurt? She really enjoys it.

Have you tried coconut yogurt. Harmless Harvest extra creamy yogurt has great ingredients. Just add maple syrup to sweeten and any fruit. Super delicious and no emulsifiers such as guar gum

I’ll buy the sauerkraut, yogurt, and kombucha in the store. I’m afraid if I do the whole process wrong I might get botulism😮
